I asked him what he wished to know about farmers. He smiled and said, "That we walk among you. We look like you and talk like you. We have advanced degrees and hobbies, just like you." Take Dave for example: He's a young man with a music degree. And if you walked past him on the street, you'd never think, "There goes a farmer." Is someone like Dave who you picture when you think of a farmer? Probably not. I think that most people would picture a man in his overalls(工作服). I can tell you, that does not represent Dave or any of the many other farmers I have gotten to know. Not only do we have to throw out our previous impression of farmers, but farming as a whole doesn't look much like it used to either. We recently sent a team out to see what modern farming looks like, and they found farmers to be completely different from our usual ideas about them and also came across them in some unexpected places. In a parking lot in a neighborhood of Brooklyn, they met a new crop of young farmers who were trying to bring fresh greens closer to eaters in the city by growing them in high-tech indoor vertical(垂直的) farms. In a Florida field under the fight path of an airport, they discovered farmers with university degrees growing plants that might someday fuel our cars. And in a modern farm in California, they observed how farmers were using technology to take the best possible care of their animals. These farmers all spend their days in very different ways—none of them looks like the previous farmer we have in our mind—but they're all working on new ways to feed our planet. Not only do we need to change our idea of what farming looks like, but we also need to change our view of where solutions can come from. Feeding all of us is going to take all of us working together. 24.How does Dave describe today's farmers? A. They often walk on the street. B. They are leading a very busy life. C. They are similar to ordinary people. D. They have little time to make friends. 25.How does the author think most people see farmers? A. They usually wear overalls. B. They have interesting hobbies. C. They are skilled at growing crops. D. They know modern farming practices. 26.What was the purpose of the team? A. To deepen connections among farmers. B. To study different technologies in farming. C. To find the new developments of modern farming. D. To encourage farmers to use new farming method. 27.What do the farmers mentioned in Paragraph 5 have in common? A. They all work in the city. B. They all use high technology. C. They all do hard physical work. D. They all work with universities. C When a hurricane hit her hometown, Karen Lauder chose to stay at home because she didnˈt know how strong the storm would be. Karen was 84 years old and depended on a wheelchair to get around because she was missing a leg. Her son, Johnny Lauder, tried repeatedly to get her to leave, but she refused. Johnny and his whole family live within a few blocks of one another. They kept in touch with Karen as the storm continued violently(猛烈地)outside, watching the water rising dangerously all around them. When Karen reported that the water in her house had reached her bottom, Johnny knew he had to take action. First, Johnny ensured his sons and their pets were taken care of. Then, he jumped out of a window and began to swim. Johnny used to work as a rescue swimmer. He is obviously a strong swimmer, but the flood water was filled with dangerous materials. There was also a strong current(水流), and he had to swim against it for most of his trip to Karenˈs. As he made his way through the water, Johnny stopped periodically to snap selfies(自拍)to show his worried family that he was okay. Johnny was racing against the clock. He knew he only had a short period of time to get there before the water rose above Karenˈs head. It took him 40 minutes to swim four blocks. The sound of Karen shouting inside was music to his ears! “If it had been 20 minutes later, she wouldnˈt have been here,” Johnny said. “Sheˈs never been happier to see me.” Karen is now safe, although she is in the hospital being treated for infections(感染)she got in the water. The family have all lost everything they owned, including their houses, but theyˈre grateful just to be here. 28.Why did Karen refuse to leave her house when the hurricane came? () A. She was too old to move. B. She missed one of her legs. C. She thought the storm was not violent. D. She lost her wheelchair and was unable to leave. 29.Why did Johnny take selfies along the way to Karenˈs home? () A. To record his swimming trip. B. To report his safety to his family. C. To warn other rescuers of danger. D. To show off his swimming skills. 30.What does the underlined sentence “The sound of Karen shouting inside was music to his ears!” in paragraph 4 mean? () A. Karen was playing music inside. B. Johnny was too tired to hear anything but music. C. Johnny felt relieved when hearing Karen shouting. D. Johnny mistook the sound of water inside as music. 31.What is the best title for the passage? () A. A Successful Rescue in a Hurricane B. A Familyˈs Total Loss in a Strong Current C. A Race Against The Clock to Snap Selfies D. Johnnyˈs Working Experience as a Rescue Swimmer D A new study in the journal of Tourism Analysis shows frequent travelers are happier with their lives than people who don't travel at all. Chun-Chu Chen, an assistant professor at Washington State University, conducted a survey to find out why some individuals travel more frequently than others and whether or not travel and tourism experiences have a lasting effect on happiness and wellness. Additionally, participants in the survey who reported regularly traveling at least 75 miles away from home also reported being about 7% happier when asked about their overall well-being than those who reported traveling very rarely or not at all. The results of his analysis show individuals who pay more attention to tourism-related information and frequently discuss their travel plans with friends are more likely to go on regular vacations than those who arenˈt constantly thinking about their next trip. “While things like work, family life and friends play a bigger role in overall reports of well-being, the accumulation (积累) of travel experiences does appear to have a small yet noticeable effect on self-reported life satisfaction,” Chen said. Participants in the study were asked about the importance of travel in their lives, how much time they spent looking into and planning future vacations, and how many trips they went on over a year. They were also asked about their life satisfaction. Out of the 500 survey participants, a little over half reported going on more than four pleasure trips a year. Only 7% of respondents did not take any vacations. As travel restriction (限制) due to COVID-19 pandemic begin to relax in the future, the research could have important effects on both tourists and the tourism industry. Based on the results of the study, Chen said travel companies, resorts and even airlines, could launch social media campaigns, such as creating signs about the scientific benefits of vacation, to spark people's interest in discussing their opinions about travel. 32.What is the benefit of frequent travelling according to the study? A. Getting more tourism information. B. Making more friends. C. Bettering tourism industry. D. Improving oneˈs well-being. 33.What does Paragraph 5 mainly talk about? A. Why the professor carried out the study. B. How the participants felt about the survey. C. What the participants were interviewed about. D. What the participants planned to do in the future. 34.What can we infer from the last paragraph? A. Tourism industry should improve their service. B. The results of the study will benefit tourism industry. C. COVID-19 pandemic will be more serious in the future. D. People will live a happier life after COVID-19 pandemic. 35.Which of the following can be the best title for the text? A. Travel more and be happier B. Make good use of travelling C. Prepare for the tourism development D. Make travel plans with friends The Importance of Being Independent The ability to be independent is something not everyone possesses.   (36)   And learning to support yourself is fundamental for any success you ever hope to achieve. At the end of the day, you only have yourself to fall back on, so itˈs very important to be able to handle things on your own. People rely on others far more than it is necessary. People put their happiness in the hands of a significant person, thinking this will bring them satisfaction.   (37)  Should you always be dependent on someone else? Of course not.   (38)   Therefore, you need to learn how to make decisions on your own. People are unable to be independent for a variety of reasons, with fear being the biggest: the fear of being alone, the fear of rejection and the fear of the future. However, there is no reason to base your life decisions on relationships with people. All relationships end at some point or another.  (39)   The only thing you can do is alter your understanding of relationships. Instead of expecting them to make you happy by being in your life and providing enjoyment, appreciate the time spent and enjoyment since you know it will be gone.   (40)   Donˈt ask for advice, do what you want and learn from your own mistakes. Many people are afraid to think for themselves because that involves taking responsibility for their own lives. This is just one way people become dependent. We are born alone and we die alone, so we each have to take responsibility for our lives at every step along the way. A.There is nothing you can do to change or affect that. B.This is a serious error too many people make these days. C.Make decisions by and for yourself, whatever they may be. D.You can control your own life by making your own choices. E.However, you need to be independent in order to survive in the world. F.In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is wait for the right time. G.Not only are you limiting yourself, you are also likely to become a burden to this person. I was chatting with Henry, a colleague of mine, about how I was struggling with my shrinking social circle. You would be amazed at how much they loved baseball. They actually met in line to buy hot dogs at a baseball game. Also, my dad was the star pitcher (投掷手) on his high school team, which happened to go all the way to the state championship! You might think that with a family history like that, baseball would just be in my blood and I’d be naturally talented at it. Unfortunately, you’d be wrong. When I was little, my dad got me a plastic bat and ball and a mini catcher’s mitt I could throw OK, but no matter how much I tried, I could not catch or hit at all! Last year, my friend Ollie was super excited to join a baseball team. Then my parents decided baseball would be the best thing for me, too. Before I could say “Thanks, but no thanks”, they had signed me up! Don’t get me wrong. The experience wasn’t terrible. Our coach was nice and the kids were great. Even though I never became good at baseball, I did improve. But the very best part of the whole experience—the silver-lining part—was something completely unexpected. After every baseball practice, Ollie’s grandmother would take us to the community pool on the way home. Ollie was more interested in playing in the pool than swimming. I, on the other hand, could not get enough of swimming. Ollie usually ended up leaving the water to hang out with his grandmother while I stayed in for a few more minutes with a girl named Isabel, a member of the swim team. We often challenged each other to see who could hold her breath underwater longer or who could get to the other side of the pool faster. One day, Isabel said, “You are a natural little fish. Do you want to join our swim team?” She looked at me with expectation. I was hesitant. _________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________ When I arrived home, I nervously told my parents about the swim team. ___________ _________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________ 第1页,共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年译林版高中英语必修二期末复习卷 答案解析 第1部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 1. My Favorite Sport Of all the sports I play, I love cycling most. I go cycling nearly every day after school, and obtain great fun from it. Cycling, first of all, provides me with the most convenient means of transportation from home to school. Also, it satisfies my love of being surrounded by nature as much as possible. Whatˈs more, I read from many trustworthy magazines that regular cycling is not only good for my fitness, but it can also have a positive effect on my sense of well-being, which makes me love the exercise even more. Hopefully, more and more people can join me and have cycling as their favorite sport. 67.. I was hesitant. Baseball had always been the family tradition, the sport my parents had envisioned for me since I was little, so the thought of disappointing them felt unbearable. Also, they had already invested so much time and money into my baseball training, and wouldn’t be happy to see me switch to something different. Yet, deep down, I knew swimming was a better fit for me. Isabel, seeing my struggle between sticking with baseball and pursuing my newfound passion, suggested I have an honest conversation with my parents. When I arrived home, I nervously told my parents about the swim team. “Swimming?” they repeated, astonished. There was a long pause. “But ... baseball and I were never a good match. Swimming just feels natural to me!” I explained. To my surprise, my dad nodded thoughtfully and said, “Actually, I used to swim a little back in college.” My mother inquired in detail about the swim team and the practices. At the end of the conversation, they became supportive, and even proud of my decision. Feeling a huge weight lifted from my shoulders, I couldn’t wait to dive into this new adventure. W: Excuse me, sir, do you have time to take a picture for us? I enjoy it in general, but I don’t think the dance music is as good as last year. Text 3. M: This cake is delicious. It must be from Fantasy Bakery on Broadway. W: Actually I made it myself. My mother taught me how to make cakes when I was a little girl. Text 4. W: Dad, can you drive me to school? M: Sorry, I’m too busy. Why don’t you ride your bike or walk? You need to exercise. We are always talking about new and interesting things together. I’m going to visit a shooting location of a movie this holiday. Would you like to join me? M: Of course. Let’s follow the trend. Text 8 【原文】W: Sebastian, where was this picture of the sky taken? M: Oh, it was taken on my first trip to India. My friend took that one just as the sun was setting. It made the clouds turn so pink. W: It’s amazing. I have never been to India before, but I would love to visit. For the longest time, I thought India was mostly sandy, but I recently learned that there are tons of green trees! M: I’ve been there three times. It’s my favorite place in the world. You should really consider joining me on my next trip. Text 9 【原文】 W: I have a question for all of us. Is all winning success? Winning is really, really fun. But I am here to share my idea: Winning does not always equal success. All around the world, we have created the win-at-all-costs culture. We have become so focused on that end result instead of the process, and particularly when the end result is a win. Real success is developing champions in life for our world, win or lose. We may be able to plan our way to a win, but we can’t plan our way to success. Back to 1990, when I was first made the head coach of the UCLA Women’s Gymnastics Team, I acted like a head coach whose only thought was to figure out how to win. So I became tough-talking and mean. Our team asked me for a team meeting for over two hours. They gave me examples of how my arrogance was hurtful. Then I chose to change. It is so much easier to give orders than to figure out how to motivate someone to be better. We all know this motivation takes a really long time to take root. The key to promote motivation is to develop trust through patience and honesty. We are all coaches in some ways. We all have the responsibility to develop champions in life for our world. This is what real success looks like, and that is what we call a win-win. Text 10. M: Excuse me, ma’am. But I think you’re in my seat. W: Oh, I’m sorry. Hey! Ian! What a surprise! It’s me, Alice. We were classmates in high school. M: Alice! Fancy meeting you here. Long time no see. W: Yeah, it’s been ages. I haven’t seen you since graduation. You look very different now. I almost didn’t recognize you. M: Really? Well, you haven’t changed a lot, but you look more elegant than before. W: Thanks. By the way, you didn’t show up at our 10-year high school reunion last year. We all thought it was a pity. M: I was abroad on a business trip and couldn’t make it. Was I the only one absent from the party? W: No. Actually Mark and Helen didn’t attend the party, either. They were on their honeymoon. M: What? I can’t believe they got married. W: Yes. Ian, would you like to see our monitor David after we get off the plane? He lives in Paris now. I’ve arranged to meet him at the coffee shop. I’m sure he’ll be glad to see you. M: OK. 21~23. 根据Spears Language Lab部分中“Plus, it enables teachers to watch and check on each student.(此外,它还使教师能够观察和检查每个学生)”可知,Spears Language Lab可以让教师了解学生的表现。故选C。 22. 根据Words Worth部分中“This software is suitable for adult language learners. It helps build professional-level skills in the language and allows learners to lay a strong base for wide vocabularies and high levels of spoken English. There are lessons such as pronunciation practice and listening comprehension that provides a professional-level learning experience.(该软件适用于成人语言学习者。 故选A。 23. 根据Open Sim部分中“Open Sim allows the teachers to create an interactive virtual classroom where learners can creatively learn language skills.(Open Sim允许教师创建一个交互式虚拟课堂,学习者可以在这里创造性地学习语言技能)”以及ODLL部分中“It allows the students to communicate with each other or host a virtual classroom section using the lab setting.(它允许学生之间相互交流,或使用实验室设置主持虚拟课堂)”可知,Open Sim和ODLL的共同之处是两者都可以创建虚拟课堂。故选A。 24~27. He smiled and said, "That we walk among you. We look like you and talk like you. We have advanced degrees and hobbies, just like you." Is someone like Dave who you picture when you think of a farmer? Probably not. I think that most people would picture a man in his overalls(工作服). 故选A。 26. We recently sent a team out to see what modern farming looks like... 27. 根据文章第五段中a new crop of young farmers who were trying to bring fresh greens closer to eaters in the city by growing them in high-tech indoor vertical(垂直的) farms; farmers with university degrees growing plants that might someday fuel our cars; farmers were using technology to take the best possible care of their animals. 根据第一段中的“When a hurricane hit her hometown...how strong the storm would be.” 根据第三段中的“As he made his way...he was okay.” Additionally, participants in the survey who reported regularly traveling at least 75 miles away from home also reported being about 7% happier when asked about their overall well-being than those who reported traveling very rarely or not at all.(此外,在被问及总体幸福感时,经常离家旅行至少75英里的人比很少或根本不旅行的人快乐约7%。) Participants in the study were asked about the importance of travel in their lives, how much time they spent looking into and planning future vacations, and how many trips they went on over a year. They were also asked about their life satisfaction.(这项研究的参与者被问及旅行在他们生活中的重要性,他们花多少时间调查和计划未来的假期,以及他们一年中进行了多少次旅行。 As travel restriction due to COVID-19 pandemic begin to relax in the future, the research could have important effects on both tourists and the tourism industry.(随着新冠肺炎疫情的限制在未来开始放松,这项研究可能会对游客和旅游业产生重要影响。) 36. 根据上文“The ability to be independent is something not everyone possesses.”可知,不是每个人都具备独立的能力;根据下文“And learning to support yourself is fundamental for any success...” 37. 根据上文“People rely on others far more than it is necessary...”可知,人们总是过度依赖别人;根据下文“Should you always be dependent on someone else? Of course not.” 38. 根据上文“Should you always be dependent on someone else? Of course not.” 39. 根据上文“All relationships end at some point or another.”可知,所有的关系都有结束的时候;根据下文“The only thing you can do is alter your understanding of relationships.” 故选A。 40. 41~55.   41根据上文中struggling with my shrinking social circle和lonely可知,因为社交圈子缩小,作者感到孤独和焦虑(anxious)。 42. 根据下文“He had joined a social rugby club, and… that it was just what I needed.” 45. 根据下文“I felt so worn out that I was afraid I couldn't go on.” 48. 根据下文“Even when exercising in the rain, we all still managed to win and have fun.” 50. 根据下文“However, I have 15 teammates happy to help me now.” 53. 根据上文“I have 15 teammates happy to help me now”可知,作者知道在任何事情上都可以依靠(count on)这些队友。 54. He had joined a social rugby club可知,此处指球场(court)。 55. 59. to stay 解析:固定搭配“method to do sth.” 60. for 解析:固定搭配“provide sth. for sth.” Excuse me, sir, do you have time to take a picture for us? But I am here to share my idea. Winning does not always equal success all around the world. We have created the win at all costs culture. We've become so focused on that end result instead of the process, and particularly when the end result is a win, real success is developing champions in life for our world. Win or lose, we may be able to plan our way to a win, but we can plan our way to success. Back to nineteen ninety, when I was first made the head coach of the U. C, L, A women's gymnastics team, I acted like a head coach whose only thought was to figure out how to win. So I became tough talking. And mean, our team asked me for a team meeting for over two hours. They gave me examples of how my arrogance was hurtful. Then I chose to change. IT is so much easier to give orders to figure out how to motivate someone to be Better. We all know this motivation takes a really long time to take root. The key to promote motivation is to develop trust through patients and honesty. We are all coaches. In some ways. We all have the responsibility to develop champions in life for our world.
