Without noticing the hours fly by, she finished it.“I felt so good and excited! It
was the first time I had got totally lost in the world of embroidery,”Chen said.
With much practice, she learnt to make daily-use things in one year. After
entering university (大学) in 2018, she continued to study the patterns and
colours. She knew Yi embroidery was more than a hobby to her. In 2022,
Chen chose to go back to her hometown and started her own workshop.

Passage 4
Hey kids!Sleep is important! You might have heard this before. Scientists
have found out that sleep helps you grow strong and keeps you from getting sick.
And guess what?Sleep also works on your grades, a new study finds.
The scientist, Jeffrey Grossman, wanted to see how sleep helped students
do in school. He asked 100 kids from his class to wear a special wristband
(腕带) called a Fitbit. This cool thing can tell you how long you sleep and if
you wake up a lot during the night. The students wore these bands all term long,
and at the end, the scientists looked at their sleep information.
1
2
3
4
5
26
They found some interesting things. As expected, kids who tossed and
turned (翻来覆去) a lot at night didn’t do well in their tests. The same went
for those who didn’t get enough sleep.★ Whether you sleep more or less during
the night before the test does nothing to your grades! So is staying up studying
before the big test okay? No!!!What really matters is sleeping the same hours
every night for a week or even a month before the test. That means “a student
who sleeps seven hours at night, every night, will do better than a student
who sleeps 7.5 hours one night and 6.5 another night,” Grossman said. This is
really unexpected!
1
2
3
4
5
How long they sleep, how well they sleep, and sleeping the same hours
every night together made a big difference to the students’ test scores. And it
appeared especially important for boys. Grossman’s team was not sure why. But
boys who didn’t sleep well or slept at different times did worse on tests than
girls who had the same sleep. These findings show that sleep is really important
for doing well in school. And,knowing how to get good sleep can make a big
difference!#4

若尾句以问题结尾(如“Why…?”),后续内容常解释原因。
2.结构分析法——匹配文章体裁逻辑
说明文:现象→原因→影响→建议(如本文,前半部分分析睡眠的影响,结尾自

Passage 5
新素材 跳舞的益处
①Do you like dancing?A lot of people take up dancing as an after-school
hobby. In fact, people think dancing has been one of the best ways to fight bad
feelings in recent years.
②When you dance, you move your body to different kinds of music,
which helps your body make a lot of endorphins (内啡肽), and that can
make you feel relaxed and happy.

③Listening to music or doing sports can make us happy, but if we do
them together, we will feel even happier. In a study, some German scientists
tested (测试) several groups of patients in three different situations: dancing
to music, listening to music, riding bikes without music. The results showed
that the first group was the happiest.
④Dancing can bring people together too. Whether it’s a tango or any other
Latin-American dances, people need to move with others. This can improve
their sense of social bonding, according to a scientific foundation (基金会).

⑤Dancing also helps people let go of bad feelings. Studies have found that
depression (沮丧) often has to do with sadness about the past or worries
about the future. However, dancing helps people focus more on the present
moment and free their mind for a while.
⑥Lauren Helper, a social worker, said that if people enjoy music of any
kind, dancing can be a helpful way to reduce (减轻) stress. She also said
that dancing can be done in many ways, from moving around the house with a
song to going out dancing with friends.“The important part is that it is fun.”#1.6
