动词不定式作目的状语
动词不定式作目的状语
动词不定式结构和概念 动词不定式结构为“to + 动词原形”,否定式“not to + 动词原形”,直接在to前加not构成。
动词不定式在句中可以作目的状语,表示行为动作的目的 。
He gets up early every day to catch the first bus.他每天早起,为的是赶上第一班车。
I got up early this morning in order not to be late for school.我今天早上起得很早,以免上学迟到。
用法 作目的状语时,不定式既可以放在句首,也可以放在句尾 。
She practises every day to improve her singing skills.(她每天练习的目的是提高歌唱技巧 )
To improve his basketball skills, Dylan trained hard.(为了提高篮球技术,Dylan 刻苦训练 )
除了直接使用之外,不定式还可以和in order或者so as一起使用,构成结构 “in order to do sth.” 和 “so as to do sth.” ,意思均为 “为了;以便” 。

注意以下情况:
(1) “so as to do sth.” 不能放在句首 ,“in order to do sth.” 可以放句首。

(2)“so as to do sth.” 和“in order to do sth.” 结构都不能接从句,“in order that” 后接从句。

过去进行时
1、过去进行时的用法:
过去进行时用于表示过去某个时刻或某一时段正在进行的动作 。
What were you doing at 7 am yesterday?(昨天早上 7 点你在做什么? )
有些动词如arrive, come, go, leave等,用现在进行时可以描述行程安排,含有将来意义。
He said he was leaving for home in a day or two. 他说他一两天之内就动身回家了。
She knew the plane was taking off in five minutes. 她知道五分钟后飞机就要起飞了。
过去进行时还可以与always, forever等副词连用,强调动作的不断重复的。
They were always quarrelling. 他们老是吵架。
She was forever complaining. 她老是抱怨。
2、过去进行时的句式结构:
肯定句 主语+was/were+现在分词+其他.
I was reading a book at that time.(那时我正在读书 )
否定句 主语+was/were+not+现在分词+其他.
I was not (wasn't) reading a book at that time.(那时我没在读书 )
一般疑问句 Was/Were+主语+现在分词+其他?
肯定回答:Yes, 主语+was/were.
否定回答:No, 主语+wasn’t/weren’t.

-Yes, I was. / No, I was not (wasn't). (是的,我在。/ 不,我没在 )
特殊疑问句 特殊疑问词 + was/were not + 主语 + 现在分词+其他?

3.过去进行时的时间状语。
过去进行时的时间状语有:at that time, this time yesterday, at ten yesterday evening,
from eight to twelve yesterday以及when, while引导的时间状语从句。

One night, Laura and her family were sleeping in their home. Their dog Scruffy was asleep next to Laura. It was 4:36 a.m. and it was quiet.
