◇Part 01
Examples:
My family lives in a small but warm house. We often have dinner together in the kitchen.
There are five people in my family: my grandparents, my parents and me. We enjoy watching TV in the living room on weekends.

例如,看到标题“My Happy Family”,可初步判断语篇主旨是介绍作者的幸福家庭;阅读首句“There are three people in my family and we live in a small apartment in Beijing”,能进一步明确语篇将围绕家庭构成和居住环境展开。
例如,题干询问“How many bedrooms are there in the writer's house?”,关键词为“bedrooms”和“how many”,此时可快速浏览语篇,找到包含“bedrooms”的句子“There are two bedrooms in my house”,即可得出答案。
使用方法:一是通过同义、近义或反义关系猜测,如语篇中出现“We often sit on the balcony to enjoy the sun. This open area outside the living room is my favorite place”,通过“this open area outside the living room”可猜测“balcony”意为“阳台”;二是通过举例说明猜测,如“Some common rooms in a house are living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom”,通过列举的常见房间类型,可辅助理解陌生房间词汇;三是通过生活常识猜测,如“My mother puts our clothes in the wardrobe”,结合生活常识“存放衣服的家具”,可猜测“wardrobe”意为“衣柜”。
对于推理题,如“What can we learn about the writer's family?”,可结合归纳的信息进行推理判断。

Dear Jane,
How are you these days?
I just move (搬) to a new house, but I still like my old house. Here’s a picture of it. The living room is large. My family and I often sit together on the sofa to watch TV. Next to the living room is the dining room with a long table. I enjoy eating with my family here. Across from the living room and the dining room are our bedrooms. You can see some fishing rods in my parents’ room. They are my father’s. There are many plants and flowers in my grandparents’ room. My room is between my parents’ room and my grandparents’. Do you see my piano? It’s in front of my window.
This year I start Grade 7. Our old house is far from my middle school, so we move to a new house. Now, I don’t need to spend much time on the way to school. The new house is small, but it feels warm. Our new living room has a big window. Sunlight comes in and makes everything bright. The kitchen is lovely! There is a white table in the center. My new room is not very big, but it is just right for me. I have many kinds of books and I keep all of them on the pink bookcase. It’s on the right side of my bed. In the United States, the backyard is a very important part of most homes. When an American buys a house, he or she also gets the small piece of land around it. Sometimes, there is a place in front (usually tidy with some small trees or flowers), called a front yard, and sometimes a place in back, called a backyard. Many houses have both. For many people, having a yard means they are living a good life.
Some Americans use their yards to grow plants and vegetables. They like to see flowers in spring and summer, and it’s great to eat fresh vegetables from their own yard, like tomatoes, carrots, or cucumbers. Others use the yard to have parties or barbecues (烧烤). ▲ You can often see people grilling (烤) hot dogs and hamburgers in their backyards. The smell is very nice, and friends and family sit together to eat and talk happily.
For families with dogs, the backyard is a great place for their pets to run around and play freely there. Some even build small dog houses for their dogs. When the dog gets tired, it has a warm place to rest.
Most families think the backyard is the best place for children to play. Many backyards have a tree with a swing (秋千). Children love to swing high and laugh loudly. Levi built this small house, but he wasn’t ready to live in it all the time. He wanted to use it for travelling. However, there may be a big issue: Levi had a family with two young children, and he was afraid the small house couldn’t accommodate (容纳) all of them on a trip.

(There be 句型)
There are five people in my family, ______ my grandparents, my parents and me.
Our house has a small garden ______ many plants.
My mother ______ breakfast for us in the kitchen every morning.
(between...and... 句型)
The study is ______ the bedroom ______ the bathroom.
I love my home very much ______ it is the warmest place in the world.
1. including
2. with
3. cooks
4. between; and
【解析】between...and...
5. because
例如,看到标题“My Happy Family”,可初步判断语篇主旨是介绍作者的幸福家庭;阅读首句“There are three people in my family and we live in a small apartment in Beijing”,能进一步明确语篇将围绕家庭构成和居住环境展开。

My family photo is also on this bookcase. You can find our dog Peter and cat Luna in this photo too. Everything here feels new and warm. In the United States, the backyard is a very important part of most homes. When an American buys a house, he or she also gets the small piece of land around it.
