To begin with, the government requires food labels should be made easier and clearer to read. Information, such as sugar, salt and unhealthy fats in their products, should be clearly included on the label. By doing so, the government hopes this will encourage healthier eating habits among people. At the same time, it is required that common allergens (过敏原) should be included on the label as well, which will possibly help people avoid risks. Another new requirement is that labels such as “no additives (添加剂)” or “zero additives” should no longer be allowed. The government says labels like these have already led shoppers to believe that a product is healthy when it is in fact not. Take a famous food company as an example. In order to increase sales, the label “zero additives” was added to its products, proving there were no harmful things. However, recently the label has been questioned. Tests have found small amounts of harmful additives in its products. Many people came to believe the “zero” label was just a marketing lie. The use of digital labels is also worth noticing. Companies are being advised to have QR codes (二维码) included on food labels. This allows customers to get more information about the product. This is helpful for people who want to learn more about what they are eating. More than 400 products have already used this smart labeling system. Food safety has always been among top cares for every Chinese. By making these changes in food labels, China hopes to help people make healthier and safer food choices. 1.What can we learn from Paragraph 2? A.Food producers refuse changes in food labels. B.Food labels are required to be easier and clearer. C.Healthier eating habits will encourage clearer labels. D.Changes in food labels are mainly about common allergens. 2.Why is a food company mentioned in Paragraph 3? A.To introduce the food company to shoppers. B.To show the food company’s changes in food labels. C.To prove that some labels can wrongly lead shoppers. D.To compare “zero additives” labels with digital ones. 3.How does the writer develop the text? (P1 stands for paragraph 1.) A. B. C. D. 4.In which part of a magazine can we probably read the text? A.Food and health. B.Medical research. C.Technology progress. D.Language and literature. 长难句解析 原句:(第2段4句)At the same time, it is required that common allergens (过敏原) should be included on the label as well, which will possibly help people avoid risks. 分析:本句中it是形式主语,真正的主语是that引导的主语从句that common allergens (过敏原) should be included on the label as well,在这个主语从句中,common allergens是主语,should be included是含有情态动词的被动语态作谓语。which will possibly help people avoid risks是非限定性定语从句,对前面整个句子进行补充说明,which在从句中作主语。 Passage B Mou Wengui, a 42-year-old man in Zhenba County, Shaanxi, moves around his small store with a prosthetic leg and crutches. However, the local government’s new poverty alleviation policy (脱贫政策) in 2016 changed his life. Thanks to this project, about 86%of his operation costs were covered. Walking barefoot can be enjoyable and helpful. It can help us sleep better and feel rested in mind and body. It can also build our foot muscles (肌肉) and improve our balance. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, walking barefoot can be good for our health. When you want to try walking barefoot, there’s no need to hurry. At first, walking barefoot for 10 minutes can be fine. After that, add 5 minutes every day until you can walk for 20 to 30 minutes. If your feet hurt, take a break or curtail the time. Walking barefoot, however, isn’t always safe. People with health problems like flat feet or back pain should avoid this practice. What’s more, walking barefoot in cold or wet environments might cause health problems. To make walking barefoot safe, remember the following points: ·Choose safe places, like soft grass or warm sand. ·Stay away from things like rocks or broken glass. ·Keep shoes at hand if you worry that your feet will get too sore. ·Listen to your body—stop if you feel pain or discomfort. I sat down on my bed—and CRACK! The wooden bed board broke in half! My face turned tomato red as I sat in the middle of the mess. Well, that bed was not strong enough, clearly, but I was also too heavy. At 1.72 m, 95 kg. I never liked exercise. I spent all my time at my desk either doing homework or reading books. To make matters worse, my parents often cooked meat-heavy meals for me. They hoped I’d become muscular They are also ordering more takeout food and eating too much without realizing it. But as I always say, being busy is no excuse for not exercising. After breaking that bed, I knew I had to change. I didn’t have time for the gym, so I made small changes in my daily life. Sometimes, I ride my bike for ten kilometers to get home after work. Other times, I get off the bus early and walk the rest of the way. I also eat healthy food, more vegetables and less junk food. Guess what? I’m now 21 kilograms lighter than my high school self! Maybe a plastic bottle, some food wrappers, an empty drink can or some cigarette butts (烟蒂)? Of course, all of this litter is bad for the environment. 1 Well, a new sport called “plogging” is getting popular with people. Plogging connects the word “jogging” with “plocka upp”, which means “pick up” in Swedish. 2 The word plogging was created by the Swedish runner Erik Ahlstrom, who was unhappy with the litter he saw every time he went for a run. He also created the Plogga website to call on people everywhere to take up plogging and hold plogging events. Stockholm, where Ahistrom lives, became the first city to organize a plogging event in 2016. 3 The World Plogging Championship has been held every year in Italy since 2021. In 2024, over 80 ploggers from 13 countries took part in the event and collected over 1,200 kilograms of trash. 4 And it’s also good for your health because you’re running and pick up litter. According to research, plogging burns more calories (卡路里) than jogging on its own. 5 But you can pick up litter while doing all kinds of sports. The Plogga website recommends doing it while cycling, skateboarding, or even just walking whatever way you choose to get outside and move. A.Of course, not everyone likes jogging. B.Plogging is good for the environment. C.But how often do we stop to pick it up? D.What harm can they do to the environment? E.Now the sport is spreading around the world. F.The idea is simple: pick up litter while you jog! It’s now a habit for many young people to visit night markets. But did you ever visit the night market of Chinese medicine culture before? Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and night markets seem two quite different things. However, TCM night markets are becoming popular with young people in China. Now many cities like Beijing, Shenyang, Hefei and Guangzhou have TCM night markets. The busy life in big cities leaves young people little time to go to the hospital during the day. Then such night markets just provide a proper time and place for the young. At the TCM night markets, TCM experts answer questions about health problems, share knowledge (知识) about traditional Chinese medicine, and give one-on-one advice. The environment of the TCM night markets is more relaxing than that of hospitals, and they provide better services for people. This finally helps improve visitors’ healthcare experience. There are many different kinds of activities at TCM night markets. People can see famous doctors, drink tea, taste medicinal food, do physical therapy (疗法) and so on. People can not only experience traditional Chinese medicine therapy, but also get more traditional Chinese medicine knowledge. It’s great to kill two birds with one stone (石头). The growing popularity of TCM night markets also shows young people’s health worries. Late nights, bad eating habits and work stress are making more and more young people start to worry about their health. Mr. Jiao, a doctor in Beijing, advises young people to have healthy eating habits, do more exercise and go to bed early. 1.Are TCM night markets popular with Chinese young people? 2.Why do young people in big cities hardly go to the hospital during the day? 3.What is Mr. Jiao’s advice mainly about? 4.Do you think TCM night markets are useful? They hoped I’d become muscular But instead of hearing “Wow!” from everyone, all I heard were chairs and beds making funny noises! Now, I’m afraid more beds and chairs might be the same. They are also ordering more takeout food and eating too much without realizing it.
