A(This is me)
Everyone likes to feel that he or she is special, but many of us grow up believing that we’re not special at all. We want to be better. Like the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, or the Cowardly Lion from The Wizard of Oz, we don’t believe we’re good enough just as we are.
In the movie, the Scarecrow wants a brain(大脑), the Tin Man wants a heart, and the Cowardly Lion wants to be brave. In the end, each of them realizes that he already has what he needs. Most parents want us to be the best we can be. They sometimes try to encourage us to do better. They mean well, but the truth is that we’re not good enough. There are lots of people around. They may not be as smart as we are, but they are better at sports. Or they may not be as good-looking as we are, but they have more money.
It is impossible for us to be better than everyone else all the time. Like the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, we all want to be better people. Parents sometimes forget to tell us that we are special, and that we are good enough just as we are. Maybe no one told them that when they were growing up, or maybe they just forgot. Either way, it’s up to us to remind them from time to time that each of us, in our own way, is special.

B(Getting along)
In my neighborhood, there is an elderly couple (夫妇), Mr. and Mrs. Brown. They have a beautiful big garden filled with colorful flowers.
One sunny day last summer, my little sister and I were playing with a ball in the yard. The ball accidentally(意外地)flew over the fence(栅栏)into their garden. We were really afraid because we thought we might get in trouble. But when we nervously knocked on their door to explain, Mr. Brown just smiled. He welcomed us to the garden to find the ball. While we were looking for it, Mrs. Brown came out with a plate of fresh fruits. She also told us stories about the different flowers in the garden.
After that, we often visited their garden. Sometimes, we helped them water the plants. In return, they taught us a lot about gardening(园艺). Once, our parents were away for a weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Brown took care of us. They made delicious meals and we watched movies together.
Our relationship with the Browns has made our lives in the neighborhood much more wonderful. It shows that good neighbors can be like family, always there to help and share joy.
