内容正文:

Ⅰ.阅读理解 A Our new childcare location in Scheveningen! The center is surrounded by numerous international institutes and embassies and is conveniently located just 10 minutes form The Hague city center. You can easily pick up and drop off your child thanks to the many parking spaces close to the entrance. Our services Big Ben Kids provides day care, preschool care and afterschool care. Our activity programme includes language lessons, violin lessons, guitar lessons and much more. Activities are held indoors, but can also be external, such as swimming in the river, and field trips to the woods. Children learn dancing, making music, and the native language-Dutch! They learn through play. Our curriculum is care fully designed in such a way that the children don't even notice how much they learn each day. For them, it's all about playing and having fun! What does Big Ben Kids offer your family? •Homelike environment A warm and stimulating atmosphere that allows children to grow and develop safely. •A truly international place Our staff members come from all over the world, just like the families we serve. We are therefore acutely aware that our centers should be much more than places that simply care for children. We always go the extra mile to help families and try to bring everyone together to form a friendly international community. •Healthy meals At Big Ben Kids, we serve to warm, healthy, homemade meals each day. The snacks are nutritious as well, with lots of fruit and vegetables. Parents receive our menu every week in advance. 【语篇解读】 本文是应用文,主题语境是“人与社会”。这篇文章是一家国际儿童照料中心的招生广告。 1.Where does the center probably lie? A.Germany. B.France. C.Holland. D.Sweden. 解析 C 根据第二段“Children learn dancing, making music and the native language—Dutch!”可知学生们在照料中心要学习本土语—荷兰语,可以推断这个中心很可能在荷兰。 2.Who is the center mainly intended for? A.Foreign children. B.Preschool children. C.Native children. D.Athletic children. 解析 A 根据第四段“Our staff members come from all over the world, just like the families we serve.”可知这个儿童照料中心主要是针对生活在本市的外国孩子开办的。 3.What are parents aware of about their children ahead of time? A.What activities their children join. B.What meals their children are served. C.How their children perform in class. D.Whether their children finish homework. 解析 B 根据最后一段“Parents receive our menu every week in advance.”可知父母可以提前收到孩子们的菜单。由此可见父母对于孩子们在照料中心吃什么是非常清楚的。 B Before my daughter, Evelyn, was born, I eagerly expected her first year of life. I imagined celebrating every milestone—bonding with her as a newborn, seeing her smile for the first time, hearing her say her first word. I didn't think of feeding tubes, long hospital stays or an organ transplant(移植). For Evelyn, the first year included all and more. Evelyn came into this world at just 34 weeks, weighing less than 3 pounds. Genetic testing revealed she had Alagille syndrome, a genetic disorder that can damage the liver(肝脏), heart and other organs. Soon, we received the news that baby Evelyn needed a liver transplant. Our family moved nearer to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh so that we were closer if a liver was available for Evelyn. When Evelyn was added to the organ donation wait list, it was under the liver allocation policy in place at that time, which was mapbased. This policy lacks any special consideration for transplant candidates. We were told it would likely take three months. Just then, a new policy for liver allocation was tried out. Under the new system, the sickest child patients get first priority(优先). The new policy was only in effect for a little over a week. But in that period, Evelyn received her liver transplant. Had it been just one week earlier or later, we would not have received the call. As Evelyn recovers from her transplant, we are grateful for the change. I am also sad, because the new policy was shortlived. That means another mom like me might not receive that phone call with good news. Other children should have the same opportunity as Evelyn to live healthy, happy lives. When it comes to liver transplant policy, we can and must do better for children. 【语篇解读】 本文是记叙文,主题语境是“人与自我”。作者女儿出生后不久就出现肝衰竭症状,情况危急。后来成功的接受了肝移植手术,引发作者的感悟。 4.What probably happened to Evelyn shortly after she was born? A.She failed to give a smile. B.She had a serious liver failure. C.She said her first word quickly. D.She suffered from a heart attack. 解析 B 根据第一段中最后两句可知,Evelyn需要器官移植,再根据第二段第三句“Soon, we received the news that baby Evelyn needed a liver transplant”可知,Evelyn 需要进行肝脏移植,由此可以判断她的肝脏有问题。 5.Why did the author's family move nearer to the hospital? A.To save time. B.To save money. C.To see a doctor. D.To get first priority. 解析 A 根据第二段最后一句中的“so that we were closer if a liver was available for Evelyn”可知,作者把家搬到了离医院近一点的地方就是为了如果有合适的肝源他们可以第一时间进行肝脏移植手术,即他们是为了节省时间。 6.What does the author mean by the underlined sentence? A.Evelyn is healthy now. B.They waited too long. C.They were one week earlier. D.Her daughter is fortunate. 解析 D 根据第三段中的“The new policy was only in effect for a little over a week. But in that period, Evelyn received her liver transplant. Had it been one week earlier or later, we would not have received the call”可知,新政策只实行了一个多星期,就在这短短的时间内,作者的女儿优先进行了肝移植,如果早一点或者晚一点,他们就接不到那个电话了。由此可见,作者说这句话是为了表达他们是幸运的。 7.What does the author want to express in the last paragraph? A.We must guarantee kids have healthy livers. B.Kids should have chances of a liver transplant. C.The sickest kids should get liver transplant first. D.The old policy lacks special consideration for kids. 解析 C 最后一段是作者最想表达的观点:其他孩子也应该有这样的机会/根据第三段提到的新政策“病情最重的儿童有肝脏移植的优先权”可知,作者在这里说的机会就是病得很重的孩子应该享受肝移植的优先权。 Ⅱ.七选五 (2024·新课标Ⅰ卷)Not all great writers are great spellers. If you want to be published,it's vital to submit a perfect, professionally presented manuscript(原稿). 1 No editor is likely to tolerate a writer who does not take the trouble to spell words correctly. I keep two reference books closeby on my desk:dictionary and thesaurus(同义词词典).I don't trust my laptop's spellchecker. 2 Of course, these days there are plenty of online dictionaries and thesauruses, but I'm oldfashioned enough to prefer a hard cover and pages I can leaf through with my fingers.I use the Concise Oxford Dictionary and the Collins Thesaurus. 3 It should give you a precise definition of each word, thus differentiating it from other words whose meanings are similar, but not identical. It will also usually show how the word is pronounced. In addition,I have an old twovolume copy of the Shorter Oxford Dictionary, picked up a few years ago in a bookshop sale for just 99 pence.Of course, with its 2,672 pages,it's not exactly short. It contains around 163,000 words, plus word combinations and idiomatic phrases. 4 However,if I need to check the origin of a word or to look up examples of its usage, there's nothing better. For well over a hundred years the most influential English dictionary was Samuel Johnson's Dictionary of the English Language published in 1755.“To make dictionaries is dull(乏味)work,”wrote Johnson, illustrating one definition of“dull”. 5 A few minutes spent casting your eye over a page or two can be a rewarding experience. A.I don't often use this dictionary. B.It takes no account of the context. C.But I still don't want to replace them. D.But a dictionary can be a pleasure to read. E.Of course,a dictionary is not only for spelling. F.That means good grammar and no spelling mistakes. G.Dictionaries don't always give you enough information. 【语篇解读】 说明文 本文主要介绍了作者对于写作中拼写和词典使用的看法及自身的相关习惯等。 1.解析 F 根据上文中的“If you want to be published,it's vital to submit a perfect, professionally presented manuscript.(如果你想发表作品,提交一份完美的、专业呈现的手稿是至关重要的。)”可知,此处会讲到完美的、专业呈现的手稿是什么样子的,选项F“那意味着语法不错并且没有拼写错误”符合语境。所以选F。 2.解析 B 根据上文中的“I don't trust my laptop's spellchecker.(我不信任我笔记本电脑的拼写检查程序。)”可知,此处会讲到不信任的原因,选项B“它不考虑上下文”符合语境。所以选B。 3.解析 E 段落主旨句。根据下文中的“It should give you a precise definition of each word...how the word is pronounced.(它应该为你提供每个单词的精确定义,从而区分它与其他含义相似但不完全相同的单词。它通常还会显示单词是如何发音的。)”可知,该段主要讲述了词典不仅仅提供单词的拼写,还有其他功能。所以选E。 4.解析 A 根据下文中的“However,if I need to check the origin of a word or to look up examples of its usage, there's nothing better.(但是,如果我需要核实某个单词的起源或查找其用法示例,就没有比这更好的了。)”可知,此处应该讲述作者不怎么使用这本词典。所以选A。 5.解析 D 根据下文中的“A few minutes spent casting your eye over a page or two can be a rewarding experience.(花几分钟粗略浏览一两页内容可以是一种令人满意的体验。)”可知,选项D“但是,词典也可以是一种令人愉悦的读物”可以与之构成逻辑上的顺承关系。所以选D。 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
