On my recent travels in China, I went from the top to the bottom of the country. I was amazed at how different the weather was in different cities.
So far I have been freezing in Harbin and Chongli, but much warmer in Shanghai, Guilin, Qingdao and Yangshuo. Each city has a different feel and allows you to experience different things.
In Harbin we wore our warmest jackets, ate local sausages and saw amazing ice sculptures (雕塑). In Qingdao we ate seafood, drank beer and even swam in the sea. In Chongli we learned how to snowboard (单板滑雪)! Shanghai made me think of cities in Europe or America. There are lots of cafes for people to relax in and enjoy the city feeling.
Guilin was a good place to be during the Spring Festival. Fireworks filled the sky and the streets were busy with excited people. I visited the old buildings and walked around a beautiful lake.
But Yangshuo, a county (县) in Guilin, has been my favorite place so far. I could not stop taking photos of the beautiful mountains and the Lijiang River. I rode a bicycle along the Yulong River in the warm sun. I ate strawberries and drank tea from the farms in the mountains.

Today, I visited the West Lake and the National Tea Museum in Hangzhou with my parents. It was a great day!
In the morning, we went to the West Lake. We walked around the lake and took many photos. The lake was so beautiful, and I loved the water there—it looked really nice.
At noon, we had lunch at a restaurant near the lake. We tried some traditional Hangzhou food. My favorite was a special fish dish. It tasted very good!
In the afternoon, we visited the National Tea Museum. There, we learned a lot about Chinese tea culture. We also watched a show about making tea. I liked the show a lot because it was interesting to see how to make tea in the traditional way.
I felt really happy about this visit. I enjoyed the beautiful views, and I also learned new things about Chinese culture. What a nice day!
