and the Mid-Autumn Festival,Kongming Lanterns light up the night sky, creating a warm and festive
atmosphere(节日气氛).
The traditional steps to make a Kongming Lantern are quite simple.First, make a bamboo frame
to form the shape of the lantern.Next, cover it with thin and lightweight paper. Finally, attach (
a small fuel block(燃料块)at the bottom.In modern times,there have been many innovations(创新).

In recent years,we have learned a lot about Yingge dance from social media, and
videos of the dance have drawn millions of people's attention. Its exciting performance at
the 2025 Spring Festival Gala also impressed many people.
This winter vacation,I went back to my hometown Shantou,a place known for its
rich culture and traditions.Luckily,I had the chance to watch Yingge dance up close.I stood on the street
with many locals and visitors, waiting for the performers to arrive.Soon, hearing the sound of gongs()
and sticks,I saw a red flag with the words "Shenggian Yingge Team"leading the way, followed by a big
group of energetic dancers.
The performers wore bright, colorful clothes and carried wooden sticks. They moved their sticks
skillfully, making them seem like part of their bodies.Sometimes, they shouted, making the performance
even more exciting. The mix of music, movement and sound brought joy to everyone.
The biggest surprise was seeing my uncle dance! After the show,he told me,"I'm proud to be part of
Yingge dance. It helps spread our culture and makes Chinese people more confident in our traditions. We
also made the dance faster and clothes more colorful to interest young people."His words made me realize
they weren't just keeping the tradition, but also changing it for today. That's why Shantou now has over 50

Passage8[2025泸州改编]
Farming and creativity don't often go hand in hand, but rice paddy art(
is turning ordinary fields into pictures. However, you may be asking,"How is
the art created from only rice plants?"The secret is to use different kinds of rice
seeds(种子)to“draw”pictures in the fields. As the plants grow, each type shows
a different color, from green to purple,to bring an artwork to life.
Creating rice paddy art takes a lot of work and planning.First, farmers draw the pictures on
computers to work out where and how to plant the rice. Then, they mark the design on a map of the field.
This helps show which kind of rice should be planted in each section. After that, they're ready to sow
the seeds, either with the help of drones (or volunteers. When rice grows tall, different
colors will come out in the fields.
