Unit 1 Life Choices Lesson 3 Your Life Is What You Make It Teaching Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students can: 1.Obtain some information about Zhang Tian's volunteer teaching (such as the causes, environment, living and working conditions, difficulties and solutions,etc.); 2.Describe and explain Zhang Tian's volunteer teaching experience and his feelings during the process. 3.Evaluate zhang Tian's choice and the significance of realizing his own value, reflecting his new cognition of volunteer work. Teaching Difficulities: 1.To express another person's life and why they are inspirational. 2. To read slowly and understand every word when skimming. Teaching Methods: Task--based reading activity By asking-and-answering activity Individual, pair or group work to make every student work Teaching Procedures: Step 1. Lead in 1.Do you know who she is ? Can you tell us something about her ? 2.Look at the title and photos. Predict what you will read in the report? Introduce the topic of the class, draw students' attention to the class, and actively participate in the class discussion. Step 2. Fast-reading Read the text quickly and answer the following questions. 1.What did Zhang Tian's parents want him to do? What did his friends do?
