第四部分 写作(共一节,满分15分)
A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with the First Step
As a new senior one student, I deeply believe the old saying perfectly fits our new life journey. To me, it means every big dream starts with small, brave actions—especially when facing the challenges of high school.
I still remember feeling nervous on my first day. I was afraid of making no friends until I took the first step to greet my deskmate. We talked about our hobbies and study plans, and soon became good friends. Later, I tried a new note-taking method for math, a subject I used to struggle with. Step by step, my grades improved. These small steps taught me that courage to start is the key to growth.
To all new classmates, don’t hesitate to take your first steps. Whether it’s joining a club, or asking teachers for help, every small action will lead you to a wonderful high school life. Let’s start now and embrace our journey of growth!
听力原文
Text 1
M: That looks like a healthy meal, Sarah—lots of vegetables and fruit. But where is the bar of chocolate you always have with your lunch?
W: I’ve decided not to have it any more. I want to be healthy.
Text 2
M: I visited Lucy today. Did you know she has a cat at home?
W: No! But she did tell me she wanted one when we went to the cat café together.
M: All right. She got it from the pet shop down the road.
Text 3
M: Should I get Lisa that watch she’s been talking about for her birthday?
W: That’s a nice thought. But her brother is getting that for her. Why not buy her a new dress? I’m going to give her a pair of shoes as a gift.
M: Okay.
Text 4
W: What is the book you’re reading at the moment? It seems that you’re interested in it very much.
M: Oh, the title of the book is August. Um, I got it because of a book review I read online.
Text 5
M: These strawberries look really fresh, straight from the fields. Let’s get some!
W: Good idea! Let’s buy some tomatoes too. I want to make that tomato salad we had at the restaurant last night.
M: Sure. Everything is so much cheaper here than at the supermarket!
Text 6
W: James, have you been to the bread festival in town?
M: No. And you?
W: Yes! I went yesterday with my sister and we had a great time. Not only did local shop owners set up stands there, but bread shops from out of town and even home cooks joined in.
M: That’s cool! Do you need a ticket?
W: Yes. It’s not cheap, but you can get three free drinks with it.
M: I see. How long does it last?
W: It runs until Sunday. Oh, don’t forget to bring paper money as some places don’t accept cards.
Text 7
M: Is it true that you met your favorite writer on the plane?
W: Yes! I still can’t believe that it actually happened!
M: Come on, tell me the whole story!
W: Okay. When I was sitting in my seat, reading her new novel, someone sat down next to me and pulled out a book. I looked over and saw it was her reading the same book!
M: That only happens in movies!
W: I know! I thought I was dreaming!
M: Did you talk to her?
W: Yes. She was really nice.
M: Did you ask her to sign your book?
W: Of course! And she offered to take a photo of us holding the book in our hands!
Text 8
W: How was your trip to Paris?
M: It was short but wonderful! I enjoyed every minute of it.
W: So what did you do?
M: Well, I planned this trip for a concert, so that’s what I did on the first evening. The next two days were filled with museum visits and delicious food tastings.
W: Nice. Were you able to pay a lower price with your student card?
M: Yes. I visited three museums and spent about 50 euros.
W: Great! And where did you stay?
M: In the northwest of the city, not too far from the center. Hotels are really expensive in Paris. I ended up paying almost 600 euros for three nights.
W: That’s crazy! And did you fly there?
M: No. To save money, I took the train to Paris and came back by bus.
W: All right. Would you like to go back and visit again?
M: For sure!
Text 9
M: Who made you want to start climbing?
W: My parents. They love nature and used to take me camping all the time. And I found climbing interesting when I was ten.
M: What attracts you to the sport?
W: Well, as a kid, it was the sense of adventure that got me into it. And whenever I climb, I truly feel that I’m part of nature. Today, what I love the most about climbing is how focused I am when I do it.
M: It’s a very physical sport, isn’t it?
W: Of course! You have to train a lot to be good at it.
M: You must do a lot of strength training.
W: Indeed. I go to the gym three times a week, and I run every other day. All of this is to prepare for that one climb every month.
M: What advice would you give to beginners?
W: Start small and get good equipment. But more importantly, never go climbing without checking the weather!

We believe that giving prizes to students makes them feel valued, builds their confidence and encourages them to behave well. We know it’s important to praise and give prizes to you students. We will make sure that all students across the school will be able to get help from this process. Through a points system, you will be able to build up prizes. And those with enough points at the end of the term will receive an extra prize. So, take note of these rules. Points will be given for being kind, making a good effort, and showing leadership. There will also be prizes for contributions to the community, never giving up and teamwork, as well as honesty, being able to do things by yourself and being polite to others.

This is such a small thing but it meant so much to a boy like me. This happened when I was around 14 and in a really bad situation in my life—teenage hormones (荷尔蒙) mixed with a bad home life, sadness, anxiety and not having close friends left me quite lonely.
We had woodworking classes on Thursdays then. I put a lot of time and hard work into our project. Once it was done, we could bring it home.
Usually I would feel quite uncomfortable with others seeing what I had put work into, so I would hide it in my backpack, but this time our project was too big, so I had to carry it by hand. I was anxious someone would see it, so I tried my best to hide it with my body. But when I was putting on my jacket, I heard another student behind me talking to her friend about how cool my work was. She sounded truly impressed, and that was the first time I had felt seen in a positive way.
I felt proud in a way I’d never felt before and it raised my self-confidence. I decided not to hide my project and I just felt so good about myself. Ever since then I’ve never had problems showing people things I’ve created. It didn’t clear away my anxiety but it made me feel good, like I was worth something, and it still brings a smile to my face to this day.
I doubt that girl knew how much it meant to me. I don’t even think she knew I heard it, but her simply telling her friend that my project was cool helped me so much during my teenage years.
Never underestimate (低估) the power of a simple, kind word.
24. What was the writer’s life like at 14?
A. Struggling with study. B. Having no close friends.

A. Shy and unconfident. B. Proud and self-centered.
C. Careless and impolite. D. Curious and warm-hearted.
26. How did the girl’s words make a difference to the writer?
A. Helped him make more friends.
B. Removed his anxiety completely.
C. Made him love woodworking more.
D. Improved his confidence in creation.
27. What can be a suitable title for the text?
A. Youth Sadness, My Old Days B. Teen Loneliness, Big Trouble
C. Tiny Kindness, Deep Influence D. Natural Shyness, My Past Self
C
A challenge is a situation that tests your abilities. It needs hard work and courage to get through. Challenges come from many sources, and knowing where they come from is the first step toward dealing with them well.
The sources of challenges are often two-part: external (外部的) and internal. External challenges come from the world around you. For example, moving to a new school, getting used to new study methods, or facing more competition from classmates. Unexpected things, like sudden exams or group project pressure, can also be external challenges. Internal challenges come from yourself. They might be not having enough skills, not knowing some knowledge, or feeling frightened and unsure about yourself—these things can slow down your progress. Often, the hardest challenges mix both external pressure and internal worries.
Successfully managing challenges requires a step-by-step method. First, look at the situation clearly and honestly. If a challenge feels too big, divide it into small, easy-to-do tasks. For example, instead of being unconfident with a big project, focus on completing the first small research. Secondly, actively look for resources (资源) and support. This could be about learning new knowledge through study, improving skills with practice, or depending on the guidance of teachers and the encouragement of friends. Having people to support you gives not only useful tips but also courage and strength. Finally, build resilience. Setbacks (挫折) are a certain part on the path to any meaningful goal—they might make you feel down. The key is to stand up again, learn from what went wrong, and keep moving toward your goal.
In short, challenges are something you can’t avoid, and they’re necessary for growth. By understanding where they come from, designing a strategic plan, and sticking to it without giving up, you can turn difficulties into chances to become better—both in your studies and personal life.
28. Which can be considered an internal source of challenges?
A. A new living environment. B. Difficult Gaokao questions.
C. Uncertainty about the future. D. The development of AI technology.
29. What should we do firstly when learning to use a video editing app according to the passage?
A. Ask friends for encouragement. B. Master its basic uses one by one.
C. Wait to see if it becomes easier. D. Learn new editing skills with practice.
30. What does the underlined word “resilience” in paragraph 3 mean?
A. The ability to get back up. B. The decision to keep going.
C. The gift for solving problems. D. The knowledge of setting goals.
31. What is the writer’s opinion on challenges?
A. They set back one’s growth. B. They are a must for success.
C. They can be managed wisely. D. They come from inner thoughts.
D
We don’t know whether there are any aliens (外星人) living somewhere in space. But the universe has so many planets—some say more than all the sand grains on Earth. That’s why many scientists think it’s worth exploring. To make our search easier, we try to imagine what aliens might be like and what conditions they would need.
All living things require energy to power their body’s chemical reactions. Water is a good environment for these reactions because it allows chemicals to break apart and move around easily. Carbon (碳) is common in the universe, and it can form many different things that all life on earth needs. So many scientists think we should look for life that needs carbon on planets with water.
Sometimes scientists can make guesses based on a process called convergent evolution. For example, eyes have evolved (进化) several times in different animals on earth. So it’s possible that aliens might also have the same trait (特征) on planets with lots of sunlight. On darker planets, eyes might not be useful, so aliens there might not have them.
The problem is that working out what aliens will be like isn’t easy. We have only one example—life on Earth. Imagine learning about butterflies (蝴蝶) by studying just one kind, like the monarch butterfly. You might think all butterflies are orange and black, missing other kinds and colors. Similarly, with only Earth life to learn from, it’s hard to tell what are common in the universe and what are special to Earth.
However, one thing most scientists would agree on is that aliens, like us, will be the products of evolution by natural selection (选择). Any alien living thing, however different its chemistry or planet, will be made for a common purpose of staying alive, eating and reproducing. Does the fact that they evolve through natural selection, just like us, tell us anything about what aliens will be like? Does it tell us anything about what kinds of conditions they need?
32. Why do scientists suggest searching planets with water?
A. Water is unusual in space. B. Aliens like to drink water.
C. Water helps chemical reactions. D. Planets need water to form.
33. What does the underlined words “convergent evolution” refer to in paragraph 3?
A. Different animals evolve with time.
B. Different beings evolve similar traits.
C. Life forms have same body parts by chance.
D. Living things change to fit light conditions.
34. Why is the monarch butterfly mentioned in paragraph 4?
A. To state it has beautiful colors. B. To show all life forms are the same.
C. To tell a single example is not enough. D. To explain the study of it is not easy.
35. What might be suitable for aliens from the last paragraph?
A. They have problems in reproducing. B. They have different purposes of living.
C. They probably follow natural selection. D. They stay alive without eating anything.

There’s a special magic in the hardship of running. 36 It is through this hard work that a great runner is made.
37 The first part is with the head (strategy and patience). The second part is with the body (experience and training). Lastly, finish with the heart. And I’ll never forget the first 5K where this wisdom was the only thing that carried me across the finish line.
The weather was cloudy. After our course walk, we gathered at the starting line for some last-minute stretches (伸展). The short silence before the gun is what I live for. And hundreds of hearts beat as one when the starter raises his gun. 38
I started running with my head, moving through the runners, working my way up in the first lap (圈). The first mile went by quickly. During the second mile, I focused on my body—breathing through my nose, keeping my hands relaxed. I refused to think about how tired I felt. Near the third mile, tiredness spread through my body. 39 People cheered louder. Around the next corner, I could see my coach jumping up and down in excitement. When we looked at each other, his voice was the only thing that could pull me from my tiredness. “You’ve gotta run like you want it!”
When I finally sailed over that finish line, I nearly cried. I had blown my time out of the water. Teammates surrounded me. 40 It’s joy and madness. It’s freedom. For a few minutes, I can fly.

This is such a small thing but it meant so much to a boy like me.This happened when I was
around 14 and in a really bad situation in my life-teenage hormones (mixed with a bad
home life, sadness, anxiety and not having close friends left me quite lonely.
We had woodworking classes on Thursdays then.I put a lot of time and hard work into our
project.Once it was done,we could bring it home.
Usually I would feel quite uncomfortable with others seeing what I had put work into,so I
would hide it in my backpack, but this time our project was too big,so I had to carry it by hand.I
was anxious someone would see it,so I tried my best to hide it with my body. But when I was
putting on my jacket,I heard another student behind me talking to her friend about how cool my
work was.She sounded truly impressed, and that was the first time I had felt seen in a positive
way.
I felt proud in a way I'd never felt before and it raised my self-confidence.I decided not to
hide my project and I just felt so good about myself.Ever since then I've never had problems
showing people things I've created. It didn't clear away my anxiety but it made me feel good, like I
4
was worth something, and it still brings a smile to my face to this day.
I doubt that girl knew how much it meant to me.I don't even think she knew I heard it,but
her simply telling her friend that my project was cool helped me so much during my teenage years.
Never underestimate (the power of a simple, kind word.

A challenge is a situation that tests your abilities. It needs hard work and courage to get
through.Challenges come from many sources, and knowing where they come from is the first
step toward dealing with them well.
The sources of challenges are often two-part:external and internal.External
challenges come from the world around you.For example, moving to a new school, getting
used to new study methods,or facing more competition from classmates.Unexpected things,
like sudden exams or group project pressure, can also be external challenges.Internal
challenges come from yourself. They might be not having enough skills, not knowing some
knowledge,or feeling frightened and unsure about yourselfthese things can slow down your
progress.Often, the hardest challenges mix both external pressure and internal worries.
Successfully managing challenges requires a step-by-step method.First, look at the
situation clearly and honestly. If a challenge feels too big, divide it into small,easy-to-do tasks.
For example, instead of being unconfident with a big project, focus on completing the first
small research.Secondly, actively look for resources (and support. This could be about
learning new knowledge through study, improving skills with practice,or depending on the
guidance of teachers and the encouragement of friends.Having people to support you gives not
only useful tips but also courage and strength. Finally, build resilience.Setbacks (are a
certain part on the path to any meaningful goal-they might make you feel down. The key is to
stand up again, learn from what went wrong, and keep moving toward your goal.
In short,challenges are something you can't avoid,and they're necessary for growth.By
understanding where they come from, designing a strategic plan, and sticking to it without
giving up,you can turn difficulties into chances to become better-both in your studies and
personal life.

We don't know whether there are any aliens (living somewhere in space. But the
universe has so many planets-some say more than all the sand grains on Earth. That's why
many scientists think it's worth exploring. To make our search easier,we try to imagine what
aliens might be like and what conditions they would need.
All living things require energy to power their body's chemical reactions.Water is a good
environment for these reactions because it allows chemicals to break apart and move around
6
easily.Carbon (is common in the universe, and it can form many different things that all
life on earth needs. So many scientists think we should look for life that needs carbon on
planets with water.
Sometimes scientists can make guesses based on a process called convergent evolution.
For example, eyes have evolved (several times in different animals on earth. So it's
possible that aliens might also have the same trait (on planets with lots of sunlight. On
darker planets, eyes might not be useful,so aliens there might not have them.
The problem is that working out what aliens will be like isn't easy.We have only one
example-life on Earth.Imagine learning about butterflies by studying just one kind,
like the monarch butterfly. You might think all butterflies are orange and black, missing other
kinds and colors.Similarly, with only Earth life to learn from,it's hard to tell what are common
in the universe and what are special to Earth.
However, one thing most scientists would agree on is that aliens, like us,will be the
products of evolution by natural selection ()Any alien living thing, however different its
chemistry or planet, will be made for a common purpose of staying alive, eating and
reproducing.Does the fact that they evolve through natural selection, just like us,tell us
anything about what aliens will be like?Does it tell us anything about what kinds of conditions
they need?
32.Why do scientists suggest searching planets with water?
A.Water is unusual in space.
B.Aliens like to drink water.
C.Water helps chemical reactions.
D.Planets need water to form.
33.What does the underlined words"convergent evolution"refer to in paragraph 3?
A.Different animals evolve with time.
B.Different beings evolve similar traits.
C.Life forms have same body parts by chance.
D.Living things change to fit light conditions.
34.Why is the monarch butterfly mentioned in paragraph 4?
A.To state it has beautiful colors.
B.To show all life forms are the same.
C.To tell a single example is not enough.
D.To explain the study of it is not easy.
35.What might be suitable for aliens from the last paragraph?
A.They have problems in reproducing.
B.They have different purposes of living.
C.They probably follow natural selection.
D.They stay alive without eating anything.

第四部分写作(共一节,满分15分)
A Journey of a Thousand Miles Begins with the First Step
As a new senior one student,I deeply believe the old saying perfectly fits our new life
journey. To me,it means every big dream starts with small, brave actions-especially when facing
the challenges of high school.
I still remember feeling nervous on my first day.I was afraid of making no friends until I
took the first step to greet my deskmate. We talked about our hobbies and study plans, and soon
became good friends.Later,I tried a new note-taking method for math,a subject I used to struggle
with.Step by step,my grades improved. These small steps taught me that courage to start is the
key to growth.
To all new classmates, don't hesitate to take your first steps.Whether it's joining a club,or
asking teachers for help, every small action will lead you to a wonderful high school life.Let's
start now and embrace our journey of growth!
