This week, our group of five students did a survey of our classmates to find out what sports interests and needs our students have. We hope that the results of our survey will be useful to the school in deciding what new sports clubs should be set up.
The questions we asked were:
What is your favourite sport?
At what time of day do you like to do sports?
How often do you do sports every week?
How long do you spend on sports each time?
Which new sports club do you want our school to start?
The results of the survey (based on 15 students) are as follows:
Question 1: 8 students prefer one-on-one sports (e.g., badminton, ping-pong); 5 like team sports (e.g., football); 2 choose individual sports (e.g., jogging).
Question 2: 10 students do sports after school (16:00-18:00); 3 choose mornings (7:00-8:00); 2 like evenings (19:00-20:00).
Question 3: 6 students do sports 3 times a week; 5 do it 4-5 times; 4 do it 2 times or less.
Question 4: 9 students spend 30-50 minutes each time; 4 spend 20 minutes; 2 spend over 1 hour.
Question 5: 7 students want a badminton club; 4 want a football club; 4 want a jogging club.

Our suggestions to the school:
Open a badminton club first (it’s the most popular sport among students).
Arrange the club time after school (16:30-17:30) (most students are free then).
Set up a football club as the second choice (to meet team-sport lovers’ needs).
Design 30-40 minute activities for the running club (matching students’ usual sports duration).

1. Yes.
Willing situation: I'm willing to give it a try! Because the karst landform looks particularly spectacular. Rock climbing allows me to appreciate the beauty of these natural rocks up close and challenge myself at the same time — the sense of accomplishment when climbing to a high place must be amazing! Moreover, being with professionals should ensure safety.
No.
Unwilling situation: I might not dare to try it. On one hand, I have no rock climbing experience and am afraid of not being able to hold on tightly and getting injured. On the other hand, the karst rocks look quite steep, and I'm a bit afraid of heights. I'd rather enjoy the scenery from below.
2. Rock climbing can bring quite a lot of benefits: for example, it can exercise the strength of the arms and core, making the body more flexible; it can also temper patience and courage — when encountering difficult sections to climb, one has to calmly think of solutions; at the same time, it allows close contact with nature, which is much more interesting than exercising in the gym; finally, when reaching the top, the sense of accomplishment of "conquering" the rock is really delightful!

1. My feelings after watching the video: It was particularly shocking! I didn't expect the karst rocks to be both beautiful and dangerous. Watching the climbers move on them, I was on tenterhooks the whole time, and I really admired their courage.
P46
1. Similarities and differences: Similarities: Both of us think that karst landforms are particularly spectacular, and we also think that rock climbing is a cool thing. Differences: I mostly feel the "amazement of a bystander", but rock climbers have the additional "sense of accomplishment and excitement" after personally taking on the challenge, which is something I haven't experienced.

2. I think extreme sports are things that "are risky but worth trying":
Reasons why they are worth it: They can help people step out of their comfort zones, exercising both the body and the mind; they also allow people to see scenery that is not usually visible (such as the aerial view of karst landforms); as long as proper preparations are made (like following professional coaches and wearing good protective gear), the risks can be controlled;
But it should be noted that one must not try them blindly and impulsively. Instead, one should first learn basic skills and understand the risks of the venue. Therefore, I believe that as long as safety preparations are done well, extreme sports are worth experiencing — they can bring different kinds of growth and happiness!
THANK YOU!
