【中考真题】
Zhao Xiang is a seventh grader who loves music. He has a good voice and is in a singing club. Recently, he had a problem. His school would hold a singing competition. His class teacher, Mr. Yao, talked to the class and they decided to sing a chorus masterpiece* at the competition.
For the performance, Mr. Yao even invited his wife, a local musician, to guide the practice. Zhao Xiang thought it was a good chance for him to show his talent.
At the first practice, things did not go as what Zhao Xiang had expected—he was too good to join the others. The musician was not satisfied and Zhao Xiang felt bad. Mr. Yao saw everything and he came up to Zhao Xiang and comforted him, “Please remember, Zhao Xiang, singing a chorus is NOT one person’s job. Everyone has to work together to achieve a good result.” ZhaoXiang realized that his voice would not help if he failed to work well with others.
Zhao Xiang changed his way of singing—he did not sing so loud as he used to, and his voice became more mixed with the others’. He even helped the musician to train those who had trouble in singing by showing them how to breathe (换气), how to control voice and sing gracefully. The practice was hard, but everyone was happy with him—the class teacher, the musician, his classmates, and even his parents—about his development!
At last, the Big Day came. The whole class was on the stage. They tried their best and they made it! When the headmaster read out first prize, everyone jumped up and shouted with joy. They threw Zhao Xiang up into the air. Zhao Xiang felt great because he knew he was not just singing for himself but for the class as a team. He learned that teamwork is needed everywhere and that teamwork is about trust and helping one another. He was so proud because he had done something important for his class!

The Internet is the best thing to happen since the creation of the alphabet*. However, can you trust what you read on the Internet? Anyone in the world can put a website on the Internet. Many people say that the things they read on the Internet may not be true. You need to be careful when you look through lots and lots of information. As you explore the Internet for information, here are some ideas to get the right things online.
First, check who wrote the website. Make sure that the writer is an expert. For example, if the topic is science, make sure the writer is a (n) _______ or a science teacher. The expert can provide us with professional knowledge or statistics (统计数据) in the field. Make sure to study the statistics so that you can avoid making minor mistakes**.
Next, make sure the site is there for a good reason, not a bad one. If the site is meant to fool you, you can be sure you can’t trust what’s on it. If the site is there to give you information, the information is more possibly good.
Also, check how old the information is. A good research engine (搜索引擎) can help you get a date for when something was written. In many subjects, like science, new information replaces old information all the time.
Finally, train yourself to be a serious person about the information from websites. You can use other resources to check what you’ve got online.
If you follow these suggestions, you will become a better user of the Internet.

A road is just like a bridge between two places. The Silk Road has been a bridge between East and West. But it is not a single route (路线)! It is a series of trade and cultural transmission routes. From the time Zhang Qian opened up the world-famous Silk Road during the Han Dynasty, until the Yuan Dynasty, it enjoyed a history of about 1,600 years.
This ancient road begins at Chang’an (now Xi’an), and it reaches Dunhuang, where it divides (分开) into the Southern Route, the Central Route and the Northern Route. And then it ends in Eastern Europe, near the Mediterranean Sea (地中海). The Silk Road is about 6,500 kilometers long. It goes across one-fourth of the planet. In fact, there is another trade road which is called the “Silk Road on the Sea” in the southeast of China.
The Silk Road was very ▲ to both China and the rest of the world. Besides trade, knowledge about science, arts and technologies was also shared across the Silk Road. The Four Great Inventions of China were introduced to the West and Chinese also knew about the religions of the West. In this way, languages and cultures developed and influenced each other. Today, places along the Silk Road are great places of interest, such as the Terracotta Warriors in Xi’an and Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, Gansu.

Today, we learned about Chinese poetry and I was deeply attracted by it. I learned that Chinese poetry is very concise (简洁的) and it doesn’t need to follow strict grammar. Poets can express the deepest feelings and thoughts with the smallest number of words. What’s more, poets can paint lively pictures in their poems, which is why I like them so much. Here are two poems we’ve learned:
Poem 1River Snow
By Liu ZongyuanFrom hill to hill no bird in flight,
From path to path no man in sight,
A lonely fisherman afloat,
Is fishing snow in a lonely boat.
(Translated by Xu Yuanchong)
Poem 2Homesickness Night
By Li BaiBefore my bed a pool of light,
Can it be hoarfrost on the ground?
Looking up, I find the moon bright;
Bowing, in homesickness I’m drowned.
(Translated by Xu Yuanchong)
* The word “afloat” is an adverb (adv.). It means on the river.
** The word “hoarfrost” is a noun (n.). It means small pieces of ice.
*** The word “drowned” is an adjective (adj.). It means dying missing.
We read these two poems that are so beautiful in class. Mr. Wang told us classical Chinese poems often use a strict rhyme and rhythm, with each line having a certain number of words. This makes classical poems difficult to write, but very interesting to read. Besides, the themes of nature, friendship, love, the passage of time and so on are common in Chinese poetry. So you can often resonate (产生共鸣) with many poems.
1.Why does the writer like Chinese poems so much?
Because poets can in their poems.
2.Which word has the same rhyme (韵脚) /ɑrt/ with “flight” in Poem 1?
The word is “ ”.
3.What did the poet want to express in Poem 2?
The poet wanted to express the feeling of .
4.Who translated these two poems?
translated them.
5.Which poem does the picture on the right describe?
It describes the poem “ ”.

Chang’e-6 was sent into space on a Long March-5 rocket from Wenchang on May 3. It is special because it will carry a surprise rover (探月车) to explore the moon’s surface.
The Chang’e-6 lunar probe (月球探测器) will not only carry a rover but also bring back samples (样本) of moon rocks and soil. This is important because scientists want to learn more about the moon’s history. By studying these samples, they can understand how the moon was formed and how it has changed over time.
The Chang’e-6 lunar probe will land on the far side of the moon. This part of the moon is always facing away from the Earth, so it is difficult to see and study from here. By landing on the far side, the rover will help scientists explore a place we know very little about.
China has already sent other lunar probes to the moon, such as Chang’e-3, Chang’e-4 and Chang’e-5. Each of these lunar probes has helped us learn more about the moon. The Chang’e-4 lunar probe was the first to land on the far side of the moon. It also had a rover called Yutu-2, which is still working and sending back information.
The new rover on Chang’e-6 will have advanced technology. It will be able to move around and study the moon’s surface more closely. This will help scientists get more information than ever before.
In conclusion (结论), China’s Chang’e-6 lunar probe with its surprise rover is an exciting step in space exploration. This is interesting to me because I’ve noticed the change in Chinese products over time in Pakistan. It’s true that during the 1990s, Chinese products were thought of as something of low quality. They were bought by the poor and not expected to last long. I remember they were cheap toys, clothes, etc.
Last month, I was in the market to buy some sheep. While talking with the sheep keeper, I noticed something like a radio around his neck. I asked him what it was. He showed it to me and I was surprised to see that it was a cool music player. There was also a cell casing (电池外壳) on the back. I asked him where he got this and why. His reply was:
“I get bored when I take my sheep out to the mountains for feeding. So I got this from the local shop that sells Chinese products. I can keep it charged (充电) using the sun only and have a few cheap cells to keep it going when needed. I can listen to the radio, some songs on the player. This helps me pass the time when I have to feed my sheep.”
But why this player? Why not some others?
“It’s made in China and cheap enough for me to afford. Another reason is that I couldn’t find anything else that met my needs like this one.”

Do you have pressure? Who will you choose to talk about it? From friendships to study pressure, more people are now using AI tools like DeepSeek and sharing their feelings with them. They usually give warm advice. This is just one of the ways that AI is changing the world and how we live. As technology improves, the use of AI is spreading.
The invention of AI dates back to the 20th century. At that time, scientists began to wonder if computers could think like us. In 1950, the British expert Alan Turing created the “Turing test” to see whether a computer is smart. During this test, a human tester puts questions to a person and a computer at the same time. If the tester couldn’t tell which answers came from the human, the computer was smart. Then six years later, scientists officially made AI a scientific field. Since then AI has achieved many breakthroughs.
Now AI is part of everyday life. It can study lots of information. The future of AI is bright but also raises some concerns (担忧). On one hand, AI may help solve big problems. On the other hand, as AI gets smarter, some people worry that it might make humans lose jobs. Also, there are fears about AI being used for crimes.
However, if we use AI properly and set rules for it, it can bring more benefits (好处) than problems. We need to make sure that AI serves humans and helps build a better world.

Last year, I joined my school’s robot competition team. The competition required us to design a robot that could pick up bottles and put them into different recycling bins.
Our team had three members. At first, we faced many difficulties. We didn’t know how to make the robot’s arm strong enough to pick up the bottles. We tried different materials—wood, plastic, and even metal—but none of them worked. We felt upset, but our teacher, Mr. Wang, encouraged us to keep trying. He told us, “Failure is part of the learning process. You just need to find out what’s wrong and fix it.”
With Mr. Wang’s help, we finally found a solution. We used a lightweight but strong aluminum alloy (铝合金) for the robot’s arm. After that, we trained the robot to tell the different colors of bins. At first, the robot often put the bottles into the wrong bins, but we kept practicing.
On the day of the competition, we were nervous but excited. When it was our turn, we turned on the robot. It moved fast, picked up the bottles one by one, and put them into the ▲ recycling bins. The audience (观众) cheered, and we took pride in ourselves. In the end, our team won second prize.
This experience taught me that no matter how difficult the problem is, as long as we work together and never give up, we can solve it. I also learned a lot about science and technology, and it made me more interested in engineering.

In recent years, the idea of flying cars has moved from science fiction to real life. These cars, often called VTOL aircraft, are designed to combine the advantages of cars and the speed of airplanes. Some technology companies are working hard to develop them, hoping to change the way we travel in cities.
Flying cars use new technologies such as electric power, self-driving systems and tools to avoid accidents. They can take off and land in small spaces. This makes them perfect for busy cities. Imagine a future where you can avoid traffic by flying from your home to your school or workplace in much less time!
However, there are still challenges. Safety is a big problem because flying cars must share the sky with other airplanes and avoid obstacles (障碍物) . Laws and rules also need to be developed to control their uses. Besides, the cost of these cars must be lowered so that more people can afford them.
Although there are problems to solve, flying cars are good for our lives. For example, they could reduce traffic, lower pollution, and help emergency services reach places faster. They could also change how cities are planned. For example, buildings become taller instead of spreading out.

It’s clear that “made in China” really doesn’t mean what it used to.
