一、人与自我
Passage 1
(24-25七上·上海第三女子初级中学·期末)根据短文内容,选择最恰当的答案。
From Passion to Problem
Collecting can bring a lot of happiness to people. However, what starts as a harmless hobby could turn into hoarding (囤积). This happens when the behavior becomes compulsive (难以抑制的). That means the behavior happens over and over again and is beyond the control of the person. This usually results in unmanageable amounts of clutter (杂乱的东西). Here are some suggestions for those with a hoarding problem:
Set yourself small goals. Try something like throwing away one thing per day.
Set a timer and try to tidy one area. Or you could try to limit the time in other ways, like listening to a set number of songs.
3 For example, you might schedule one hour a week for cleaning. Try to plan where your items will go, such as in the bin or as a donation (捐赠物). As soon as possible, try to make sure they go exactly where you planned.
Come up with some rules. Some people use the rule that if they haven’t used an item in the last year, they’ll get rid of it. Different rules work for different people, but these can help to make decisions easier.
Explore new hobbies. This could be going for a walk, watching a film, or visiting a museum.

A.Make a plan. B.Start a new collection with a friend.
C.Join a club to trade items. D.Take photos of your items and keep them in an album.

Passage 1
(24-25七上·上海建平中学东校·期末)Choose the best answer. (选择最恰当的答案)
He was just an ordinary postman. Day after day, he shuttled (穿梭) back and forth across the village. For him, life was without waves.
One day, he was delivering mail as usual. When he looked up in the sky, he suddenly lost his balance because a little stone tripped him up (绊倒). He looked down at the stone carefully, finding it strange but beautiful. In his eyes, this stone was like a lost jewel (宝石) covered with dust (灰尘). The postman then placed the stone in his bag carefully. Because of this stone’s arrival, his day was lightened. He suddenly had a good idea—I can build a castle with such beautiful stones. How wonderful it will be!
His usual life started to be different since then. He still delivered mail, but he collected every stone he could find along the way. All those dusty stones, in his eyes, glittered like diamonds.
Gradually, his small bag couldn’t hold his stones any more and he needed to use a wheelbarrow (独轮手推车) to carry them. People didn’t understand what happened when they saw the postman delivering letters with a wheelbarrow full of stones.
After collecting enough stones, he started to build his castle. During the daytime, he passed along the dreams of others; and during the nighttime, he built his own dream. Someone laughed at him and no one joined him, but he still happily kept on building his castle. Because he knew, the dream and the castle only belonged to him.
After 20 years of working day and night, the postman’s dream castle was finally completed. It was a magnificent castle just as he had imagined.
This is a real story. The postman’s name is Xue Waller. The stone castle has become a famous tourist attraction in France, which is called “ideal palace of Ferdinand Cheval”. At the entrance of the stone castle, there is a sentence—“I want to know how far a dream stone can go.”

Passage 2
(24-25七上·上海外国语大学附属外国语学校·期末)①Each year on Feb. 21, UNESCO (联合国教科文组织) holds an International Mother Language Day (IMLD). The event is to help people to pay attention to the disappearance of the world’s languages: many of them are disappearing each year. UNESCO sees this as a terrible fact.
② What happens when a language dies out? Something great is lost—not just sounds and marks but the way that people understand the world and communicate with each other. We keep different cultures and traditions through languages. Kill a language and all these are killed too.
③ Through IMLD, more and more people come to realize the terrible situation and try to stop it. Google’s 2018 Endangered (濒临灭绝的) Languages Project is a good example. Many speakers and protectors of endangered languages upload texts, audios and videos to the project website. They want to introduce the way that people communicate and express themselves around the world.
④ The Myaamia Project is the same kind of effort to revive the language spoken by the Miami tribes (部落) of the United States. Project members work to encourage people to study and communicate with this language, which died out in the 1960s.
⑤These activities give life to those endangered languages. People who work to keep languages alive are not limited to the past. Many young people design apps and use social media to support their activities. They “spread the word” to save the word.
⑥So, while the problem of disappearing languages remains a very serious one, there is hope. We all have a special feeling of our mother language. This is why we should remember the wise words of late president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela: “If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to a man in his own language, that goes to his heart.”
1.UNESCO holds IMLD every year in order to help people to
A.learn and use endangered languages
B.show their talents in learning languages
C.practice reading skills of mother languages
D.realize the situation of endangered languages
2.What did people do in Google’s 2018 Endangered Languages Project?
A.They discussed how to make good use of Google.
B.They offered online courses on endangered languages.
C.They shared materials about endangered languages online.
D.They translated endangered languages into mother languages.
3.What does the underlined word “revive” mean in Paragraph 4?
A.create B.learn C.bring back D.clear
4.What can we guess from Paragraph 5?
A.It is more difficult to protect endangered languages.
B.The disappearance of languages has already stopped.
C.Young people don’t care about endangered languages.
D.Young people have creative ways to protect languages.
5.The writer mentions Nelson Mandela’s words in order to__________.
A.tell the importance of one’s mother language
B.show his help to language protection
C.tell the trouble in learning endangered languages
D.show the possibility of protecting mother languages
【答案】1.D 2.C 3.C 4.D 5.A
【导语】本文主要讲了联合国教科文组织发起的保护母语的活动,讲了母语的重要性以及消亡后的后果。
1.细节理解题。根据第一段中“The event is to help people to pay attention to the disappearance of the world’s languages: many of them are disappearing each year.”可知,该活动旨在帮助人们关注世界语言的消失。故选D。
2.细节理解题。根据第三段中“Many speakers and protectors of endangered languages upload texts, audios and videos to the project website.”可知,许多濒危语言的使用者和保护者将文本、音频和视频上传到该项目网站,也就是说在线分享濒危语言的材料。故选C。
3.词义猜测题。根据“The Myaamia Project is the same kind of effort to revive the language spoken by the Miami tribes (部落) of the United States.”可知,Myaamia项目使美国迈阿密部落所说的语言得以复活也做出了同样的努力。因此revive最可能得意思是“复活,重新使用”。故选C。
4.推理判断题。根据第五段内容“These activities give life to those endangered languages. People who work to keep languages alive are not limited to the past. Many young people design apps and use social media to support their activities. They ‘spread the word’ to save the word.”可知,现在的年轻人用更有创新的方法保护语言。故选D。
5.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“We all have a special feeling of our mother language. This is why we should remember the wise words of late president of South Africa, Nelson Mandela: ‘If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to a man in his own language, that goes to his heart.’”可推测出,提及他的话是为了告诉我们母语的重要性。故选A。

The movie, in general, is good. The visuals (视觉画面) alone represent a great achievement. The voice acting is also great. However, the movie is far from perfect. It mainly uses the same “Disney formula (套路)” that everyone knows by heart at this point. The ending of the story is predictable.

Disney is losing its touch. They are afraid to take new steps. Although it has great visuals, this movie is easily forgettable. I hope that Disney can come up with something new that will truly surprise me in the future.

The visuals were great, but none of the dragon’s jokes hit. I didn’t laugh at all. I just found myself sitting in awkward silence for too much of the movie. It would be much better if they hadn’t let the dragon talk at all.

The movie, in general, is good. The visuals (视觉画面) alone represent a great achievement. The voice acting is also great. However, the movie is far from perfect. It mainly uses the same “Disney formula (套路)” that everyone knows by heart at this point. The ending of the story is predictable.
Alex _ Lo· Jun 21, 2022·
Disney is losing its touch. They are afraid to take new steps. Although it has great visuals, this movie is easily forgettable. I hope that Disney can come up with something new that will truly surprise me in the future.

The visuals were great, but none of the dragon’s jokes hit. I didn’t laugh at all. I just found myself sitting in awkward silence for too much of the movie. It would be much better if they hadn’t let the dragon talk at all.
