一、词汇储备 (1) 名词 excitement; joy; pleasure; delight; sweetness; happiness; gaiety; brightness; merriment; relief; cheerfulness (2) 动词 cheer; yell; thrill (3) 形容词 happy; glad; pleased; cheerful; delighted; enjoyable; overjoyed; joyous; joyful; merry; gay; contented; excited; thrilled; optimistic (4) 副词 jollily; enjoyably; cheerfully; joyfully; luckily; fortunately (5) 短语 light up; in cheerful spirits; in good mood; with delight; be wild with joy 二、表达方法 常见的表达方式有直陈式表述、描述性表述、比喻性表述、夸张性表述、拟人式表述、反语式表述和混合式表述七种。 Tom was happy. I was wild with delight. I was pleased beyond description. 2. She shed tears of joy. Laughter lingered around the room. She wore a shining smile on her face. Amusement gleamed in his eyes. Her eyes shone with sweetness. Her eyes twinkled with delight. Her flushed face was shining with excitement. A smile of understanding flashed across his face. She hugged them to her chest, and at last she was able to look up with tearful eyes and a smile. Seeing the oak tree full of yellow handkerchiefs, they all jumped up from their seats, dancing and screaming with joy. 3. Her eyes were sparkling like diamonds. A ripple of excitement ran through them. The smile on her face shone like a diamond. Unforgettable were her eyes that shone like diamonds and lips held in a steady smile. 4. I was floating on air. Joy welled up inside her. Her smile lit up the whole room. Her heart is filled with happiness/joy. My face was shining with indescribably wild joy. Her pulses beat fast, and the blood warmed and relaxed every inch of her body. I had never seen such a lovely creature in my life that I was wild with joy and followed its track. 5. A wild gaiety took hold of her. Seeing what had happened, I was seized with happiness. Because of that smile, our hearts jumped and danced for joy, sweet from the heart filled the body. 6. He was anything but angry. Peter was far from sad. The funny stories never fail to make me laugh. 7. Grandma parked down the street, rushed to Bobby's front door, and her whole body trembled with excitement. Jennifer's sleepy eyes opened wide and her face wore a smile that brightened up the whole room. Paula's face turned red, with her voice quivering with excitement. May the rest days in his life be as full of happiness and joy as this special day. 1. His mother could hardly believe her eyes when she saw the beautiful flowers in front of her. The thought that I might speak to them and be happy one day filled me with hope. (状语从句) I might speak to them and be happy one day, I was filled with hope. 7. He had a book in his hand, and tears were in his eyes. “We have all got a poem called Little Jim to learn, “said the boy, whose name was Tom Blair, “and the one who says it best is to get a prize from the master. But I don't think I can learn it,” “Why not?” said Granny Bell. “The boys say that I can't, and that need not try,” said Tom in a sad tone. “Don't mind what the boys say. Let them see that you can learn it,” said Granny Bell. “But I don't think I can,” said Tom. “It is so long, and some of the words are so hard. I know I need not try for the prize. But I would like to learn the poem as well as I can, for boys laugh at me, and call me ‘Slow Tom’”. “Well, dear,” said Granny Bell, in a kind voice, “if you are slow, and can't help it, try to be ‘slow and sure’, as they say. Look at the snail (蜗牛) on the wall; how slow it is! And yet, if you watch it, you will see it will get to the top in time. So just try to learn a few lines each day, and you may gain the prize in the end. And when you feel like losing heart, think of the snail on the wall. “ After Granny Bell had said this, she went on her way. And Tom thought that, though he could not keep up with the boys, he might run a race with the snail. So he determined to try to learn his task by the time the snail got to the top of the wall. Paragraph 1: At last, the day came on which the master was to give the prize, and after he called upon five or six boys to repeat the poem, it came to Tom's turn. Paragraph 2: “Well done! Tom! Well done! Tell me how you made it!” said the master with great joy. One possible version: Paragraph 1: At last, the day came on which the master was to give the prize, and after he called upon five or six boys to repeat the poem, it came to Tom's turn. Tom got up slowly but in a confident way. He looked so silent and still. However, there was laugh from the boys in the classroom, because most of the boys thought that he would fail in this recitation. But he did not miss a word. He recited the poem so fluently that all his classmates were astonished at last. And his heart was full of joy when the teacher also stood up, applauding for his great performance. Paragraph 2: “Well done! Tom! Well done! Tell me how e you made it!” said the master with great joy, “Please, sir, it was the snail on the wall that taught me how to do it,” said Tom, “I saw it crawl up the wall bit by bit. It did not stop or turn back, but went on and on. And I thought I would do the same with my task. So I just learned it bit by bit, and did not give up.” “Now, boys, let us give a good cheer for Tom Blair and the snail on the wall,” said the master. And the classroom rang with a loud, long cheer, for all were glad that “Slow Tom” had got the prize at last.
