Five tips on improving your memory
Most of us know that our brains become smaller in size as we get older, but do you know that diet and lifestyle have an effect on how well our brains work?
Research shows that eating lots of fruit, vegetables and proteins (蛋白质) improves the memory. 97 Eating oily fish or dark chocolate (with over 70% cocoa) and taking Vitamin D3 can also help make our memory stronger.
98 A 2011 study showed that regular exercise actually increases brain size. Another study found that exercise improves the memory in some older people; surprisingly it found that one single training period has the same effect on the memory as a regular, long exercise period!
One study found that eight weeks of short, daily meditation (冥想) improves the memory. Other ways to relax can also improve our short-term memory. Try taking 5-10 minutes of your day to meditate or listen to music. 99
Experts say that age reduces our ability to learn, but sleep can help. 100 A 2019 study found that students learn things better before and after a short sleep!
101 Try to memorize information like phone numbers and addresses rather than putting the information in your phone. You could also learn a language or do brain training like crosswords

Meng Jiangnü waited for her husband at home for years but did not hear a word from him.
One night, Meng Jiangnü had a bad dream. She dreamed that her husband kept yelling. “Cold, cold! ” She recalled that her husband was wearing very thin clothes. Hearing this sad news of the death of her husband, she sat down at the foot of the Great Wall and started crying. She cried day and night, and her crying made the wall fall down. What is it like to grow up?
As you grow older, there will be certain events that will mark your growth. Graduating from high school and getting your first job are just a few of these. What are some other ways in which we mark our journey toward adulthood?
In the US, getting your driver’s license (执照) at the age of 16 is seen as a major coming-of-age (成人) ritual (仪式). You may have seen kids celebrating their first car in movies and TV shows. It is the first true taste of independence for most teenagers. But not every teenager gets a car right away. Usually, their parents will buy a second-hand car for them as their first car.
Another big coming-of-age event is the prom Held at the end of the year, the prom is a graduation celebration for senior high school students. Teenagers wear fancy clothing, ask each other to dance and vote (投票) for a prom “king” and “queen”. For many teenagers, prom is the biggest social event of the year. It’s a time for them to dress and act like an adult.
And there’s still more. At the age of 18, we can vote in the US - and at 21, we can drink alcohol (酒). This is also the time when most children move out of their parents’ home for college or work.
It is around this age that society starts to consider us to be adults. But what does it really mean to be an adult?
Psychologist Jeffrey Arnett surveyed young adults and found three common adulthood goals: taking responsibility for yourself, making independent decisions, and being financially (经济上) independent.
I agree with Arnett. Being an adult has more to do with one’s maturity (成熟). If you want to drive, vote, drink, leave home or even start a romantic relationship, you have to make sure that you’re ready to be responsible.

Both of us like animations.
all 全部
例如:All Chinese students have a large amount of homework.
Each has both advantages and disadvantages.
We have to go to school every day.
2.C
4.A
thanks to幸亏;thanks for因…… 根据“telling me in time”可知,后句说的是感谢的原因,要用thanks for。故选B。
6.D
do with“处理”,强调处理的对象,常与what搭配;deal with“处理”,强调处理的方式,常与how搭配。
7.C
