The dodo was a bird that lived on an island in the Indian Ocean. It had a peaceful life with plenty of food and friendly animals. However, when humans arrived in 1598, they cut down trees and hunted dodos. Their animals also ate dodos' eggs. As a result, dodos soon died out. Today we can only see them in museums. Their story tells us that we should protect animals and not let them become as dead as a dodo.
