1. who人物:
2. when时间:
3. where地点:
4. what事件:
Beginning (What causes the problem?/How does the story begin?)
Rising actions (What happens on the way to the climax?)
Climax (What is the biggest problem?/What is the most exciting part?)
Falling actions (What happens on the way to the end of the story?)
Ending (How is the problem solved?/How does the story end?)
My wife and I wanted to share our new home with family and friends by hosting a small gathering in the early summer. She had prepared lots of snacks, while my job was to have the backyard in order.
There was plenty of space for the kids to run and play. There was just one thing I hadn’t counted on: My brother chose to bring his dog Toby, a 50-pound ball of fire. Though friendly, he could easily knock over my niece’s small boys and my six-month-old granddaughter. So, when my brother showed up, I asked him to watch Toby and keep him outside.
My plan was working out just fine. Toby was using up his energy by running back and forth in the backyard and giving the kids plenty of room. Unexpectedly, after supper, the weather changed. It started to rain and everyone went indoors.
It was an awkward moment. I didn’t want Toby to be running around in the house, and my brother wasn’t happy with driving home with a wet dog. Eventually, my brother decided to leave rather than force the issue.
A few days passed, and I hadn’t heard anything from my brother. I texted him and expressed wishes for him to come out again. His reply came as a surprise — a shock, actually: “Not a chance.” Clearly, he was unhappy over the way we had parted. After all, I had left him little choice. Well, he’ll get over it, I reasoned.
Two months passed. My wife suggested I get in touch with my brother, but I resisted, thinking he should call first. However, my conscience (良心) kept bothering me. I tried to put myself in my brother’s shoes. He was facing health issues and his wife of thirty-five years had passed away a few months earlier. Toby was his constant companion, the one who kept him going.

)、心理描写(如 “Well, he'll get over it, I reasoned.”
)、对话(如兄弟回复 “Not a chance.” )推进情节,心理描写细腻(如 “My conscience kept bothering me. I tried to put myself in my brother's shoes.” ) 。
One posible version
I realized it was me who was at fault.【分析故事基本要素】(呼应人物处境:兄弟丧妻、健康问题;核心矛盾:“我” 忽视 Toby 对兄弟的意义)Guilt weighed heavy on my chest as I thought of my brother—his wife’s passing still fresh, his health declining, and Toby the only warmth he had left. I’d been so fixated on my own worries (the kids’ safety) that I’d brushed off his feelings entirely. 【梳理故事情节】(承接前文 “良心不安”,推动情节至 “决定行动”:从反思到主动和解)“He didn’t just leave because of Toby,” I mumbled to my wife, “he left because I made him feel unwelcome.” Without hesitation, I asked her to bake Toby’s favorite peanut butter biscuits—something she’d made for him before the gathering. 【解读故事主题】(凸显 “亲情需主动理解”)I knew a simple apology wasn’t enough; I needed to show him I truly get why Toby matters.
With the biscuits my wife had made, I arrived at my brother’s door.
【分析故事基本要素】(复用关键道具 “biscuits”“Toby”,强化人物关联)Before I could knock, the door creaked open—Toby’s tail thumped wildly as he nuzzled my hand, his warm breath on my palm. My brother stood behind him, eyes tired but softening at the sight of the biscuit tin. 【梳理故事情节】(推进矛盾化解:从见面到释怀)I held out the tin, voice quiet: “I’m sorry. I should’ve thought about how much you and Toby need each other.” He hesitated, then took the tin and stepped aside. Inside, Toby curled up at my feet as we talked—about his days, about missing his wife, about how Toby had pulled him out of bed on hard mornings. 【解读故事主题】(升华 “亲情在理解中回暖”)By the time I left, he’d laughed for the first time in months, and we made plans to bring Toby to my backyard again—this time, with a soft mat for him by the door.

(河南省新乡市大联考2025-2026学年高三上学期10月月考)Loud music and laughter came over the fence from the neighbor’s yard. It broke the quiet I had worked so hard to make for my thesis (论文), like small pieces of broken glass.
The paper on my laptop screen had lots of red marks. My professor wrote comments on almost every part: “Not enough facts to help your ideas.” “Your thinking is too surface-level.” “You need to rewrite Chapter 3.”
Just that afternoon, I sat in her office for 45 minutes, with my head down. She told me I would have to postpone my graduation if I couldn’t prepare the paper well in two weeks. After that, I read academic magazines for three hours. My eyes hurt because I was so tired, but I never found any books or articles to support my arguments. Every source felt like a dead road. And now this noise — the low, strong music — shook my windows, and the laughter broke my weak focus. It was the last thing that made me feel like I couldn’t take it anymore.
My neighbor, Ethan, as I’d learned from a few short chats, was in his early 30s. He worked as a designer. We had been neighbors for six months. When we talked or met, it was always calm and polite. For example, we waved when we passed each other while getting mail. On weekends, if we both watered plants at the same time, we might say something like “Nice weather today” in a casual way.
Our relationship as neighbors was quiet and comfortable. There was no trouble. We just respected each other, even if we didn’t say it out loud. Ethan usually stayed at home. On workdays, the light in his living room was on until 10 o’clock at night. I could see the soft light from his computer screen through the curtains. On weekends, he sometimes had one or two friends over. But they spoke quietly and never bothered anyone.
That was why the loud noise that night felt so strange and bad — it broke the quiet routine we both kept, even if we never talked about it.

(广东省部分学校2025-2026学年高三上学期10月联考)Leo was always known as a top student. He spent most of his time studying, and his grades were among the best in the class. However, he rarely joined class activities. During group discussions, he stayed quiet. When his classmates played games during breaks, he always sat in his seat reviewing his books. He believed good grades were all that mattered to become a class leader.
When the monitor election took place, Leo was confident. But the result surprised him — he received very few votes. He felt hurt and confused. Why didn’t his classmates choose him? He thought he was the most qualified.
After class, his teacher noticed his disappointment and had a talk with him. She said gently, “Being a good student is important, but being a class leader requires more than good grades. It requires connection, trust, and participation.” Leo walked home slowly that day, thinking deeply about her words.
That night, he reflected honestly on himself. He realized he had been so focused on studying that he never really tried to understand his classmates. He didn’t help others, never shared his feelings, and seldom took part in team activities. No wonder his classmates didn’t know him well enough to trust him. For the first time, Leo understood that leadership was about building relationships.
He made a decision that he would change his attitude and become more involved. The next day, he started small. He began by greeting his classmates with a smile. From that day on, when he saw someone struggling with math, he offered help. He started staying after school to clean the classroom without being asked. He even joined the class football team and practiced with everyone, even though he wasn’t very good at sports.
Slowly, people noticed Leo’s efforts. He was no longer that quiet boy who only cared about books. He became a friendly and supportive classmate. He learned to listen, to share, and most importantly, to care for others.

(江苏省镇江市某重点高中2025-2026学年高二上学期9月质量检测)It was a cool autumn morning when the school announced the annual sports day. For most students, it was a day of excitement and joy, but for me, it was just another event I wanted to avoid. I had always been the type to shy away from group activities, preferring the company of my books and thoughts.
Our class monitor, Sarah, noticed my unwillingness. She was the very image of enthusiasm and leadership, always trying to bring the class together. One day, she approached me during lunch. “Why don’t you join us for the relay race? It’ll be fun,” she said with a warm smile. I hesitated, but her perseverance was hard to ignore.
The next day, Sarah organized a practice session. I unwillingly joined, feeling out of place among my more athletic classmates. As we ran, I tripped and the baton (接力棒) fell, with my knee scraped (擦伤). Embarrassed, I wanted to quit, but Sarah was there in an instant, offering a hand and words of encouragement. “It’s okay, we’re a team,” she said. At this time, other fellow classmates came to encourage me. Their kindness made me feel less alone.
As the days went by, I found myself looking forward to the practices. The care and support among my classmates was touching. I began to see the value of teamwork and the joy of shared experiences. My initial unwillingness melted away, replaced by a newfound sense of belonging.
The anticipation for the sports day filled me with excitement. I dreamed of the cheers, the applauding crowd, and the excitement of competition. Training hard, I desired to show my skills, push my limits, share and feel the joy of victory. This event was more than a game; it meant a lot for me. I could not wait to be part of it!

Finn threw his backpack onto the kitchen counter, glaring at the writing assignment: “Write about a family story that changed you.” For as long as he could remember, his mom Claire had always been “too busy”. She was always rushing to meetings. She’d missed his middle school graduation, his first band performance, and even forgot his birthday last year.
“Finn, dinner is almost ready! I’ve got a client meeting,” Claire called from the hallway, already halfway out the door. Finn rolled his eyes — the same excuse. He walked upstairs, but instead of starting homework, he found himself staring at an old wooden box on top of his mom’s closet. She’d always kept it locked, never talking about what was inside. But today it was unlocked. Curiosity took over.
He carefully pulled the box down. Inside were dozens of sketchbooks (素描本) filled with amazing drawings: cityscapes at dawn, lifelike portraits, and a detailed sketch of Paris’s Ecole des Beaux-Arts — one of the world’s top art schools. Then he found a sealed letter, postmarked years ago, addressed to “Claire Reynolds” with “Ecole des Beaux-Arts” on the front.
Beneath the letter was a worn diary. The first entry: “September 3, 2002 — Finn’s first bad fever. My art school acceptance letter came. But he’s crying for me. I can’t leave him. Paris will await.” Another: “May 10, 2005 — Finn’s bike broke. He’s heartbroken. I said we can’t afford a new one, but I’ll take extra shifts at the cafe. He’ll never know I gave up my dream for his smile.” Tears spilled down Finn’s cheeks. He’d thought she didn’t care, but she’d sacrificed her art career for him. Then a memory clicked: “Her birthday is only three days away.” And he wondered what special gift he could prepare for her — something that would show he’d finally seen all her quiet love.

(河南省新未来大联考2025-2026学年高三上学期10月月考) Hank sat glued to the TV as meteorologists (气象学家) tracked Hurricane Helene. The storm, packing 140 mph winds, was set to hit Florida before moving towards the Carolinas. For Hank, 65, the target hit closer to home: Boiling Springs, South Carolina, where he and his second wife, Debbie, had just moved to care for her 84-year-old mother.
But Hank had more urgent matters than the storm. On Saturday, his oldest daughter, Judith, 33, would marry in Johnson City, Tennessee. Hank, who'd once joked about his poor sense of time, had been ordered to arrive on time. So he and Debbie planned a two-hour drive to Johnson City on Friday, staying overnight in their old home, where he could changed into the suit he had prepared for the wedding, then walking Judith down the aisle (过道) in the church at 10 a. m. sharp.
By Friday morning, Helene's winds rocked their new house. By 6 p. m. , power and cell service were still out. Debbie, though, refused to leave her mother. "I'll stay, ” she said sadly. "I can't miss this, ” Hank replied, hugging her goodbye. He packed his SUV and headed for Johnson City.
The highway quickly turned chaotic. Crews cleared fallen trees as cars inched along. By 10: 30 p. m. , Hank had driven less than 40 miles. At a roadblock, state policemen delivered bad news: "Bridges washed out. Nobody's getting through. ” Hank leaned in. "My daughter's getting married tomorrow. I'm walking her down the aisle. ” The policeman shook his head. "Back roads are flooded too. Wait until morning. ”
But Hank couldn't wait. He plotted a detour (绕路) . After a seven-hour drive, his SUV had an empty gas tank. It was 2: 15 a. m. Hank locked his SUV, put a backpack over his shoulder. "Not battle-ready,” he thought, "but it'll do.” He grabbed a tree branch for protection and set off with his cell phone flashlight.
The dark hid dangers. A 7-foot wall of mud and trees blocked his path. He crawled through a narrow gap, losing a shoe in the mud. By 4 a. m. , Hank reached the Jackson Bridge over the Nolichucky River. He rushed across, only to be stopped by flashing lights.

)、对话(如兄弟回复 “Not a chance.” )推进情节,心理描写细腻(如 “My conscience kept bothering me. I tried to put myself in my brother's shoes.” ) 。

I closed my laptop very hard and rushed to Ethan’s door, angry. I knocked loudly, fuming. When Ethan opened it, he was clearly startled by my angry face. “Ethan, I can’t focus on my thesis with all this racket!” I shouted. “I’m under so much pressure, and you’re making it worse.” He looked sheepish. “I’m really sorry. We were having a spontaneous get-together and didn’t think. We’ll tone it down.” As I started to walk away, he asked about my thesis topic, which caught me off-guard.
To my surprise, Ethan gave me the contact information of the researcher later. He said the researcher was an expert in my field. I was delighted and quickly reached out. The researcher offered me valuable suggestions and some crucial references. With these aids, I rewrote my thesis smoothly. Two weeks later, I submitted it confidently. My professor was impressed with the improvement. I realized Ethan’s help was a turning point, and I was truly thankful to have such a thoughtful neighbor.

When the next election came, Leo was ready. He stepped onto the platform. He spoke honestly about how he had changed. “I used to think good grades were enough,” he said. “But I’ve learned that being part of a class means supporting each other.” He shared how he started helping others and joining in activities. His classmates were impressed. They had seen his kindness. When it was time to vote, many raised their hands for him. They believed in the new Leo — not just the smart boy, but the caring one.
This time, Leo was elected. He felt happy and proud, but he also felt the weight of responsibility. He decided that he would set a good example and make the class a better place. He wanted to be a leader who listens, helps, and inspires. He learned that real success is not about being perfect, but about being willing to grow and help others grow too. This experience showed him that failure can lead to something better if we learn from it and keep trying.

The day I looked forward to came eventually. My heart pounded with a mix of nervousness and excitement as we lined up for the relay race. As the race began, the cheers from the crowd fueled my determination. I focused on the task at hand. Each step was a testament to the weeks of practice and the support of my teammates. But it was at the moment when I took over the baton that I collapsed onto the track, due to the sudden pain from my knee, gasping for air. We were supposed to win the championship, but in the end we ended up getting the second place.
We lost the game, and I blamed our failure on myself. After crossing the finish line, disappointment washed over me like a cold wave. As we gathered together, I finally spoke up, my voice trembling with guilt. “It’s all my fault. If I hadn’t tripped, maybe we would have won.” However, Sarah placed a hand on my shoulder and said gently, “We’re a team, remember? Your effort and improvement are what truly matter.” Her words warmed my heart, and I realized that the true value of the sports day lay not in winning but in the bonds we had forged and the lessons we had learned.

Staring at the diary, he came up with an idea. He would write a story about his mom’s sacrifices, a story filled with all the love she had poured into him over the years. He spent the next few days feverishly writing, carefully choosing every word to convey the depth of her love. He wanted to make it perfect, a tribute to her selflessness. He also drew some simple illustrations inspired by the sketches in her box, adding a personal touch to the story.
Finn presented the story on Mom’s birthday. As she opened the handmade book, her eyes widened in surprise. She began to read, her hands trembling slightly. When she finished, tears streamed down her face. She pulled Finn into a tight hug, saying, “This is the most precious gift I’ve ever received. I never thought you knew all this.” Finn smiled, “Mom, I see all your love now. And I love you too.” This family story not only changed Finn’s view of his mom but also deepened their bond forever.

One possible version:
“Are you the one trying to get to your daughter’s wedding? ” A policeman asked, smiling. “We’re all talking about you. Want a ride?” Tears of gratitude filled Hank’s weary eyes. The policeman drove him to his old Johnson City home. The moment they arrived, it was 6 a. m. After showing appreciation to the policeman again and again, Hank hurried into his old house. Inside, everything was as he’d left it: a comfortable bed, clean clothes and a wedding suit he’d prepared. He hadn’t slept in 24 hours, but he refused to collapse. He showered in ice-cold water, shaved, and pulled on the suit. He got to the church and saw Judith.
Shining in white, Judith stood before him. Hank broke down and so did his daughter. “Dad, I thought you wouldn’t make it,” she shed tears of surprise and excitement, wrapping him in a hug. The music swelled. Hank took Judith’s arm, smiling through tears. Sixteen hours after leaving Boiling Springs—through mud, storms, and strong will—he did what he’d promised. As they walked, Judith leaned in and asked, “What’s in your ear, Dad? ” Hank touched it: a smudge of mud. A keepsake from the journey. He grinned at her, “Nothing would ever keep me from you, sweetie. ”
