单元语法讲解:动词不定式作主语、表语和后置定语
一、定义
动词不定式的基本含义是表示目的或是未来要发生的动
作。其形式一般是“to + 动词原形”,有时to也可省略。

二、结构
1. 动词不定式作主语时,多用it作形式主语,将不定式置于句
末。常用的四种句型如下:
(1)It is+名词+to do sth.表示“做……是……”。
例句:It’s my turn to clean the classroom.轮到我打扫教室了。

(2)It is+形容词+for sb.+to do sth.表示“对某人来说,做
某事是……的”。to do sth.是由for sb.发出的动作;该句型中
的形容词是表示客观情况的形容词,如easy,difficult,hard,
important,possible,impossible,necessary,unnecessary,
interesting等。
例句:It is very important for students to learn English well.对学
生来说,学好英语是非常重要的。

(3)It is+形容词+of sb. to do sth.表示“对于某人来说,
做……是……的”。该句型中的形容词是表示主观情况的形容
词,如kind,nice, wise, clever,foolish,right,wrong,
careful,careless,polite,impolite等。
例句:It is clever of him to leave that country.对于他来说,离开
那个国家是聪明之举。
(4)It takes/took sb.+时间+to do sth.表示“做某事花费某人
多少时间”。
例句:It takes me three hours to go to school.去学校花了我
3个小时。

2. 动词不定式作表语时,用于描述主语的性质或解释主语的内
容,常翻译为“……是……”。它有以下三种句型:
(1)主语(表“事物”的词)+be+to be+名词
例句:My dream is to be a doctor.我的梦想是成为一名医生。

(2)主语(表“事物”的词)+be+to do sth.
例句:Our duty is to help those children find their parents.
我们的职责是帮助那些孩子找到他们的父母。
(3)主语从句+be+to do sth.

3. 动词不定式作定语时,必须位于被修饰的词之后。
(1)动词不定式和它所修饰的词之间有动宾关系。
例句:He has a lot of homework to do.
他有许多家庭作业要做。(即do homework)
I want to buy something to eat.
我想买点吃的东西。(即eat something)
(2)动词不定式修饰名词或代词,对其进行说明,可翻译为
“……的……”。
例句:We need to do something to serve our country.
我们需要做为我们的国家服务的事情。

(3)被修饰的词是不定式的逻辑主语。
例句:My uncle is the only one to win a medal in climbing.我叔
叔是唯一一个在登山中获奖的人。
(to win a medal in climbing是由the only one发出的动作)
(4)表示动作即将发生。
例句:The conference to take place next month(that will take
place next month)is bound to be a success.下个月即将要召开的
会议一定会很成功。
