Water Park Safety
Water parks can be a lot of fun for kids, as long as you keep safety in mind. Before you go, make sure the park is monitored by qualified (有资质的) lifeguards. Once there, read all posted s 1 before letting your child on any rides (many rides have age, height, weight, or health requirements, and each has a different depth of water).
Teach your kids to follow all rules and directions, such as walking i 2 of running and always going down the water slide in the right position—feet first and face up. A Coast-Guard approved life jacket is a good idea, too.
Know which rides are appropriate for your child’s a 3 and development. For example, wave pools can quickly go from calm to rough, putting even a good swimmer in over his or her head. Younger children can be f 4 by older kids’ splashing and roughhousing.
What to Do in an Emergency
Whenever a child is missing, always check the pool first. Survival d 5 on a quick rescue and restarting breathing as soon as possible.
If you find a child in the water, immediately get the child out while calling 1 6 for help. If someone else is around you, have them call 911. CPR should be b 7 done by someone who is trained in CPR. When the emergency number is called, follow the instructions the emergency operators provide.
If you think the child may have suffered a neck injury, such as with diving, then keep the child on his or her back and brace the neck and shoulders with your hands and forearms to help keep the neck immobilized, until emergency help arrives. Don’t let the child move. Speak in calm tones to keep the child comforted.

四、阅读理解
Water is one of the most useful substances in our lives. We use water to drink, bathe, cook. Plants and animals need water to grow and live. At a factory, water helps to make chemical products and cool machines. At home, we put water in the dishwasher to wash dirty plates and cups. In the countryside, farmers pour water on fields to help crops like rice and cotton grow. We also use water for fun — at the swimming pool or water park. Water can shine like a mirror on a corner of a calm river. Water can be boring too — it waits in a glass or a pot without any movement. In cities, wastewater goes to a treatment plant before it returns to rivers. This clean-up step is very important. People do research on ways to save energy, use water fully, and make energy-saving systems. We must raise awareness about saving water, because fresh water is limited. Everyone can agree: water is precious. If we don’t value it, we could face a problem — a lack of safe water. So let’s act carefully: fix leaks and shut taps. Only in this way, can we protect our water and our future.

Most of the energy we use for heating, lighting, transportation and manufacturing (制造业) comes from fossil (化石) fuels. These are carbon-based fuels from oil, coal and natural gas.
There are three main disadvantages to using these fuels. Firstly, they are causing climate problems because of the greenhouse effect. When we burn fossil fuels they produce carbon dioxide which causes global warming. Secondly, when we have used up all our coal, oil and natural gas, we will have nothing left to burn. Thirdly, they are not very efficient. The internal combustion engine (内燃机) that we use in most cars, trucks and buses, for example, is only about14% efficient.
Scientists are working on another fuel-hydrogen (氢). There are a couple of advantages to using hydrogen as a fuel. Firstly, because two-thirds of the Earth’s surface is water and water is made of hydrogen and oxygen. There is an almost unlimited supply of hydrogen. Secondly, burning hydrogen does not cause global warming. Thirdly, it is much more efficient than carbon-based fuels.
Unfortunately, there are problems with hydrogen at the present time. We don’t know how to separate it from water cheaply, and there is difficulty of storing it. It can be stored under pressure but high pressure tanks are far from safe. It can also be stored as a liquid but only at extremely low temperatures. It seems likely, therefore, that there will have to be a completely new technology before hydrogen replaces fossil fuels. Solving these problems is an urgent matter. Although China, India and Australia have huge amounts of cheap coal, and there are still large oil and gas reserves (储藏量) elsewhere, the effects on the planet’s climate will be worse if they are still used.
1.________ isn’t carbon-based fuel.
A.Hydrogen B.Natural gas C.Coal D.Oil
2.Using carbon-based fuels can ________.
A.cause traffic accidents B.cause floods and forest fires
C.produce hydrogen and oxygen D.produce carbon dioxide

根据短文内容回答下列问题
Curiosity is like a spark that lights up our desire to explore the unknown. In today’s fast-changing world, it’s more important than ever. From the latest AI technologies to space exploration, human curiosity drives innovation and progress.
Take Elon Musk, for example. His curiosity about sustainable energy led to the creation of Tesla and SpaceX. He once said, “I want to understand why things are the way they are.” This mindset pushed him to revolutionize electric cars and rocket science. Similarly, young students around the world are using their curiosity to solve real-world problems. A 15-year-old girl in India invented a low-cost water purifier after seeing her community struggle with clean water. Her curiosity turned into a solution that now helps thousands.
But curiosity isn’t just for scientists. It’s about asking questions and seeking answers. When you wonder how a smartphone works or why leaves change color, you’re using curiosity. Schools are now encouraging students to explore through projects like coding robots or growing plants. These activities help develop critical thinking and creativity.
However, curiosity needs courage. Sometimes, the answers aren’t easy. Thomas Edison failed thousands of times before inventing the light bulb. He saw failure as a step forward, not a stop. This attitude is key: never stop wondering, even when things get tough.
As we face challenges like climate change, curiosity will guide us to new solutions. Whether it’s finding renewable energy or curing diseases, the next big idea might start with a simple question. So keep asking, “Why?” and let your curiosity lead the way. The future belongs to those who dare to wonder.

Answer the questions (根据短文内容回答问题)
Imagine you can have phone calls with your favourite star. Is it exciting? AI humans might help with it. Today, AI humans are popular at home and abroad.
As we all know, AI humans now can be like real people. They can do real people’s voices and moves and even copy their personalities. But what else can they do? And what can only be done by humans but not AI?
Digital humans today play roles in many ways. They can be idols, vloggers, reporters, and more. For example, China Daily has its own digital reporter, Yuanxi. She can speak English and cover the wonderful world of Chinese culture. She can process (处理) data fast. This can help the newsroom work faster.
In 2022, a Chinese tech company showed its first digital idol Xi Jiajia. She can change her make-up and how she dresses, and even do webcasts (网络直播)! During China Fashion Week, Xi Jiajia became famous in an online virtual fashion show (虚拟时装秀). “Virtual idols could do something that people cannot do in the real world, such as time travel,” said Liu from the company. Liu took the digital tour guides as an example. They can be in different places and from different times in history.
But AI humans have their disadvantages. Take Yuanxi as an example. She still doesn’t have much touch and EQ like us. These are things that only a real human can have. What’s more, virtual people can’t team up and communicate with others in real time.
As Yuanxi wrote, “Virtual employees show the power of AI but they are not a replacement for traditional human employees.”
1.In what ways can AI humans be like real people?
2.What roles can digital humans play?
3.Who is Xi Jiajia according to Paragraph 4?

Answer the questions(根据短文内容回答下列问题)
Different from Earth Day which falls on April 22 every year, Earth Hour has been known for its “lights off” moment. On March 22, 2025, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM, millions turned off their lights to show they cared about the Earth. This year’s Earth Hour, with the theme (主题) “Create the Biggest Hour for Earth”, was even more important because it shared the same day as World Water Day. However, it’s not enough to have such an hour every year. What matters is how we can be kinder to the earth every day.
Planet-friendly food
You might not realize it, but the meat industry has a huge influence on forests around the world. Large numbers of trees are cut down to make space for soy (大豆) and other plants that are used to feed animals. Have a chat with your parents about going meat-free, even for a few days every week. Also, foods like vegetables, fruit and nuts are helping the planet.
Go green and save money, too
Electricity (电) produced by burning fuels like oil, coal and gas causes global warming and pollution. Ask your parents how they heat your home and suggest using green energy like wind or solar power (太阳能). Another tip is to remember to turn off the electricity whenever you leave a room. Cutting down on screen time is actually good for both your health and the earth.
Waste Less, Help more
Waste is a big problem! We’ve talked about saving electricity. What about food waste? Every year, 1.3 billion tonnes of food is wasted around the world. That’s one-third of the total amount, which can feed up to 1.26 billion people. Try to talk to your parents about buying a proper amount of food. More importantly, find some ways online for leftover food at home.
1.When did Earth Hour take place in 2025?
2.Why was Earth Hour 2025 especially important?
3.How does the meat industry negatively affect forests?
4.Why is electricity produced by burning fuels harmful to the environment?
5.One-third of the world’s food is wasted, isn’t it?
6.As teenagers, what can we do to contribute to Earth Hour and environmental protection beyond just turning off lights for one hour?
【答案】1.Earth Hour took place in 2025 on March 22, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. 2.Because it shared the same day as World Water Day. 3.Large numbers of trees are cut down to make space for soy and other plants used to feed animals. 4.Because it causes global warming and pollution. 5.Yes, it is. 6.As teenagers, we can contribute by choosing plant-based foods like vegetables, fruit and nuts, turning off electricity when not in use and reducing screen time. (Any reasonable answer is accepted.)

3.根据“You might not realize it, but the meat industry has a huge influence on forests around the world. Large numbers of trees are cut down to make space for soy (大豆) and other plants that are used to feed animals.”可知,肉类产业大量树木被砍伐,为大豆和其他用于饲养动物的植物腾出空间,从而对森林产生负面影响。故填Large numbers of trees are cut down to make space for soy and other plants used to feed animals.
4.根据“Electricity (电) produced by burning fuels like oil, coal and gas causes global warming and pollution.”可知,燃烧燃料产生的电力对环境有害是因为它会导致全球变暖和污染。故填Because it causes global warming and pollution.

My View on Digital Life
Digital life has become an important part of modern life. It brings both benefits and problems, so we need to use it in a smart way.
Firstly, digital life makes our life more convenient. For example, when we want to buy something, we can use QR code payment instead of carrying cash. It saves us time and avoids the trouble of finding change. As soon as we finish shopping, the payment is done!
However, digital life also has disadvantages. Many students spend too much time on their phones. While they are supposed to do homework, they often chat with friends or play games online. This leads to poor grades and less time for exercise.
In conclusion, digital life is helpful but not perfect. We should enjoy its convenience without losing control. Only in this way can we have a healthy digital life.

1.The passage says we use water to do all of the following EXCEPT:
A.Cook food. B.Wash clothes. C.Take a shower. D.Wash dishes.
2.According to the passage, where does wastewater go before returning to rivers?

6.Where can you most likely read this passage?
A.In a science textbook. B.In a restaurant menu.
C.In a storybook. D.In a travel guide.

1.Who is Elon Musk and what did his curiosity lead to?
2.What problem did the 15-year-old girl in India solve, and how?
3.How do schools encourage students to explore according to the passage?
4.How did Thomas Edison view failure?
5.What challenges can curiosity help us face according to the passage?
6.What is the author’s advice about curiosity in the passage?

4.According to the passage, what could virtual idols do that people cannot do in the real world?
5.What are the things that only real humans have?
6.Will you buy AI humans in the future? Why or why not?
