The train is always busy but I usually find a seat and start reading or texting my friends, making sure, like everyone else, not to look at other people. But last Tuesday was different. I was happily listening to some new music when the train suddenly stopped. This wasn’t unusual and I didn’t think anything of it. Then after about five minutes, I noticed people were starting to get a bit angry. Fifteen minutes later, people started getting angrier. The longer the train stood still, the angrier people became until finally the announcement came: “We are sorry to announce that this train is delayed (延误). ” That seemed to calm people down and so we all went back to what we were doing before, but soon there was another announcement: “It will be a long time before we get there — a train had broken down in front of us.” There was a large sigh throughout the carriage (车厢) but then something unexpected happened: complete strangers started talking to each other. I started chatting to a couple of young tourists. They were from Spain and they were travelling around the UK so I suggested some places they should visit. Next I really surprised myself by starting a conversation with a businesswoman. She was going to take three months to climb Qomolangma. It was great talking to her. Then I decided to get up and go for a walk down the train. I met a woman who had been a student at my school seven years before and knew lots of my teachers. While we were talking, we heard there was a patient in another part of the train who needed help and the woman from my school jumped into action. It turned out she was a nurse and when she came back, she was welcomed as a hero. Then, after two hours, we started moving again. Everyone clapped and cheered and some people, complete strangers three hours before, even hugged. I will never forget the day the train stopped and people started talking. 24 How did the author do when the train suddenly stopped? A. He turned to the other passengers. B. He let out a long deep sigh. C. He paid no attention to it. D. He got angry at once. 25. Why did the train stop? A. It broke down. B. It ran out of gas. C. The track was under repair. D. A previous train stopped working. 26. Why did the author consider the journey unforgettable? A. Talking to strangers made him happy. B. He saved a person’s life on the train. C. He met some classmates during the trip. D. It was the first time he had met with an accident. 27. What did the author talk about with the nurse? A. Some famous tourist spots. B. Their former teachers. C Some stories of businesswomen. D. Their mountain-climbing experiences. C A bicycle may be seen by most people as just another vehicle (交通工具), but for many Londoners, cycling is a way of life. According to a UK government survey in 2017, about 570,000 bike journeys were made every day in London. In fact, almost half of the vehicles that pass over London Bridge each day are bikes. London introduced a public bike-sharing system in 2010. “There can be no doubt that our trusty bicycles have changed that way people get around our great city,” Johnson told The Guardian. In London, bikes are used for more than just taking short trips to and from the subway. Wherever you want to go in the city, riding a bike is usually the quickest and easiest choice. And it’s not just shared bikes that the government is encouraging people to ride. In many companies across the UK, the UK government’s Cycle to Work plan allows workers to buy a brand new bike without having to pay any tax (税). This means that it’s common to see many people cycling to and from work, and some employers even provide showers in the workplaces for their workers. More importantly, a cycle-friendly boss may let you off for being late if you ride a bike to work. Not only is it great for the environment and our body, cycling is also good for the mind. According to National Geographic, “Bike riding can improve people’s happiness.” 28. What’s the writer’s purpose by listing numbers in the first paragraph? A. To compare bikes with other vehicles. B. To introduce bike journeys in London. C. To ask people to cycle as a way of life. D. To show Londoners’ preference for cycling. 29. What’s Johnson’s attitude towards the bike-sharing system in London? A. Unconcerned. B. Worried. C. Positive. D. Doubtful. 30. Cyclists in London might enjoy the following except ________. A. tax-free bikes B. bike-sharing services C. shorter working hours D. showers in workplaces 31. Which of the following can be the best title of the passage? A. London’s Cycle to Work project. B. London’s public bike-sharing system. C. Cycling as a healthy way of life in London. D. Reasons for cycling’s popularity in London. D According to a recent study in the Journal of Consumer Research, both the size and consumption habits of our eating companions can influence our food intake. And contrary to existing research that says you should avoid eating with heavier people who order large portions(份), it's the beanpoles with big appetites you really need to avoid. To test the effect of social influence on eating habits, the researchers conducted two experiments. In the first, 95 undergraduate women were individually invited into a lab to ostensibly(表面上)participate in a study about movie viewership. Before the film began, each woman was asked to help herself to a snack. An actor hired by the researchers grabbed her food first. In her natural state, the actor weighed 105 pounds. But in half the cases she wore a specially designed fat suit which increased her weight to 180 pounds. Both the fat and thin versions of the actor took a large amount of food. The participants followed suit, taking more food than they normally would have. However, they took significantly more when the actor was thin. For the second test, in one case the thin actor took two pieces of candy from the snack bowls. In the other case, she took 30 pieces. The results were similar to the first test: the participants followed suit but took significantly more candy when the thin actor took 30 pieces. The tests show that the social environment is extremely influential when we're making decisions. If this fellow participant is going to eat more, so will I. Call it the “I’ll have what she's having” effect. However, we'll adjust the influence. If an overweight person is having a large portion, I'll hold back a bit because I see the results of his eating habits. But if a thin person eats a lot, I'll follow suit. If he can eat much and keep slim, why can't I? 32. What is the recent study mainly about? A. Food safety. B. Movie viewership. C. Consumer demand. D. Eating behavior. 33. What does the underlined word “beanpoles” in paragraph 1 refer to? A. Big eaters. B. Overweight persons. C. Picky eaters. D. Tall thin persons. 34. Why did the researchers hire the actor? A To see how she would affect the participants. B. To test if the participants could recognize her. C. To find out what she would do in the two tests. D. To study why she could keep her weight down. 35. On what basis do we “adjust the influence” according to the last paragraph? A. How hungry we are. B. How slim we want to be. C. How we perceive others. D. How we feel about the food. In so big a world, it’s easy to sometimes feel alone. She spent her free time climbing trees, finding joy in their branches and leaves. She also loved to draw pictures of trees, capturing their grace and beauty on paper. Whenever her favorite tree-printed shirt was clean, she wore it with pride. Today was Arbor Day, a day dedicated to celebrating and planting trees. Annabelle wanted to make it special for Lucy. “Happy Arbor Day,” Annabelle called out, her voice filled with enthusiasm as she pedaled her bike up to where Lucy and Ethan were standing. Ethan, however, looked puzzled. “What’s Arbor Day?” he asked in confusion. Lucy’s eyes lit up as she explained, “It’s a holiday to celebrate trees, and it’s my favorite holiday!” Ethan’s frown (皱眉) deepened, and he shook his head, insisting, “Arbor Day is not a real holiday.” Lucy’s face flushed (脸红) with embarrassment. Before she could respond, Annabelle stepped in firmly. “It is a real holiday,” Annabelle said confidently, “And Lucy and I are here to celebrate it in our own special way.” Lucy, though passionate about trees, had never given thought to planning an Arbor Day celebration. Seeing her friend’s hesitation, Annabelle’s determination only grew stronger. “We’ll show Ethan,” Annabelle whispered to Lucy, leading her into the garage. “First, we’ll hang decorations.” She scanned the holiday storage boxes, finding decorations for Halloween with its ghosts and goblins, Christmas with its twinkling lights and stars, and Valentine’s Day with its hearts and love notes. But there was no sign of Arbor Day decorations, no leaves or tree-themed stuff. “Mom,” Annabelle called out with hope, “where are our Arbor Day decorations?” Her mother replied with a gentle smile, explaining that they had never had any specific decorations for Arbor Day. But Annabelle wasn’t easily discouraged. “Let’s make our own,” Annabelle suggested, her eyes shining with excitement. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ “What are you doing?” asked Ethan, as he stepped into the garage and saw the decorations. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 泗阳县实验高级中学2025—2026学年第一学期高一第一次调研测试英语试卷 本试卷共77题,共150分,考试用时120分钟 注意事项: 1. What is the attitude of the woman to her work? 24. How did the author do when the train suddenly stopped? C. Some stories of businesswomen. D. Their mountain-climbing experiences. C 25. D 26. A 27. 根据第二段“I was happily listening to some new music when the train suddenly stopped. This wasn’t unusual and I didn’t think anything of it. Then after about five minutes, I noticed people were starting to get a bit angry.( 我正开心地听着新歌,突然火车停了下来。这并不罕见,我也没多想。大约五分钟后,我注意到人们开始有点生气了)”可知,当火车突然停下时,作者并没有太在意。故选C项。 【25题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“That seemed to calm people down and so we all went back to what we were doing before, but soon there was another announcement: “It will be a long time before we get there — a train had broken down in front of us.”(这似乎让大家平静了下来,于是我们都继续做之前的事;但很快又传来一则通知:“我们还要很久才能到站——前面有一辆火车抛锚了)”可知,火车停下的原因是前面有一列火车抛锚了。故选D项。 【26题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“There was a large sigh throughout the carriage (车厢) but then something unexpected happened: complete strangers started talking to each other(车厢里传来一声长长的叹息,但随后发生了一件意想不到的事:完全陌生的人开始互相交谈)”以及最后一段“I will never forget the day the train stopped and people started talking.(我永远不会忘记火车停下、人们开始交谈的那一天。)”可知,火车停下后,完全陌生的人开始互相交谈,作者永远不会忘记火车停下、人们开始交谈的那一天,可推理出作者之所以认为这次旅程难忘,是因为与陌生人交谈让他感到开心。故选A项。 【27题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“I met a woman who had been a student at my school seven years before and knew lots of my teachers(我遇到了一位七年前曾在我学校读书的女士,她认识我的很多老师)”以及第四段“It turned out she was a nurse and when she came back, she was welcomed as a hero(原来她是一名护士,当她回来时,她被当作英雄欢迎)”可知,作者和这位护士谈到了他们以前的老师。故选B项。 C A bicycle may be seen by most people as just another vehicle (交通工具), but for many Londoners, cycling is a way of life. 【答案】28. D 29. C 30. C 31. D 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了对许多伦敦人来说,骑自行车是一种生活方式,并分析了背后的原因。 【28题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章第一段“According to a UK government survey in 2017, about 570,000 bike journeys were made every day in London. In fact, almost half of the vehicles that pass over London Bridge each day are bikes. (根据英国政府2017年的一项调查,伦敦每天约有57万次自行车出行。事实上,每天通过伦敦桥的车辆中几乎有一半是自行车。)”可知,作者在第一段用数字是为了说明在伦敦骑自行车的人很多,很受欢迎。故选D。 【29题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章第二段““There can be no doubt that our trusty bicycles have changed that way people get around our great city,” Johnson told The Guardian. ( Johnson在接受《卫报》采访时表示:“毫无疑问,我们值得信赖的自行车改变了人们在这座伟大城市的出行方式。”)”可知,Johnson对伦敦的自行车共享系统表示支持。故选C。 【30题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章第三段“And it’s not just shared bikes that the government is encouraging people to ride. In many companies across the UK, the UK government’s Cycle to Work plan allows workers to buy a brand new bike without having to pay any tax(税). This means that it’s common to see many people cycling to and from work, and some employers even provide showers in the workplaces for their workers. More importantly, a cycle-friendly boss may let you off for being late if you ride a bike to work. 根据文章第一段“A bicycle may be seen by most people as just another vehicle(交通工具), but for many Londoners, cycling is a way of life. According to a UK government survey in 2017, about 570,000 bike journeys were made every day in London. In fact, almost half of the vehicles that pass over London Bridge each day are bikes. (对大多数人来说,自行车可能只是一种交通工具,但对许多伦敦人来说,骑自行车是一种生活方式。根据英国政府2017年的一项调查,伦敦每天约有57万次自行车出行。事实上,每天通过伦敦桥的车辆中几乎有一半是自行车。)”可知,第一段说明在伦敦骑自行车非常受欢迎;而第二段“London introduced a public bike-sharing system in 2010. (伦敦在2010年推出了公共自行车共享系统。)”和第三段“In London, bikes are used for more than just taking short trips to and from the subway. (在伦敦,自行车不仅仅用于往返地铁的短途旅行。)”以及第四段“Not only is it great for the environment and our body, cycling is also good for the mind. (它不仅对环境和我们的身体有好处,而且对我们的头脑也有好处。)”则分析了在伦敦为什么骑自行车出行很受欢迎。所以“Reasons for cycling’s popularity in London.(自行车在伦敦流行的原因。)”作为文章标题最为合适。故选D。 D According to a recent study in the Journal of Consumer Research, both the size and consumption habits of our eating companions can influence our food intake. For the second test in one case the thin actor took two pieces of candy from the snack bowls. A. To see how she would affect the participants. 【答案】32. D 33. D 34. A 35. C 【解析】 【分析】本文是说明文。最近的研究表明:我们的饮食伙伴的大小和消费习惯都会影响我们的食物摄入量。文章详述了这个实验的过程。 【32题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段中的“According to a recent study in the Journal of Consumer Research, both the size and consumption habits of our eating companions can influence our food intake”可知,根据消费者研究杂志最近的一项研究,我们的饮食伙伴的大小和消费习惯都会影响我们的食物摄入量。因此这项研究是关于饮食行为的。故选D。 【33题详解】 词义猜测题。根据前半句“And contrary to existing research that says you should avoid eating with heavier people who order large portions(份)”可知,现有的研究认为:你应该避免和体重较重、点大份饭菜的人一起吃饭。后半句认为,你真正应该避免的是the beanpoles with big appetites。由contrary to可推断出,画线词和heavier people(超重的人)相反,结合选项,D选项(瘦瘦高高的人)正好和heavier people正好相反。故选D。 【34题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段的“To test the effect of social influence on eating habits, the researchers conducted two experiments”可知, 为了测试社会影响对饮食习惯的影响,研究人员进行了两个实验。根据倒数第三段的内容可知,在两个实验中,胖的和瘦的演员都吃了大量的食物。参与者也照做,吃的食物比平常多。 然而,当演员是瘦的时候,参与者们服用的食物更多。由此推断,研究人员雇用演员是为了看看她如何影响参与者。故选A。 35题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“If an overweight person is having a large portion, I’ll hold back a bit because I see the results of his eating habits. But if a thin person eats a lot, I’ll follow suit. If he can eat much and keep slim, why can’t I? ”可知,如果一个超重的人吃很大一份,我会忍住一点,因为我看到了他饮食习惯的结果。但如果一个瘦的人吃很多,我会跟着做。如果他吃得多保持苗条,为什么我不能呢? 因此推断我们是根据我们对他人的看法(即:如何看待他人)来调整影响的。故选C。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 In so big a world, it’s easy to sometimes feel alone. Thankfully, there are ways to deal with it, which are probably simpler than you may think. 【答案】36. G 37. D 38. A 39. B 40. C 【解析】 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。文章介绍了一些摆脱孤独感的方法。 【36题详解】 前文“In so big a world, it’s easy to sometimes feel alone. Loneliness can strike anyone, anytime, and it’s no fun at all. (在这么大的世界里,有时很容易感到孤独。孤独可以随时袭击任何人,而且一点也不好玩)”提到孤独感的普遍性,后文的段落具体介绍了摆脱孤独感的一些方法,空处应该与提出建议有关。因此G项“Thankfully, there are ways to deal with it, which are probably simpler than you may think. (值得庆幸的是,有一些方法可以处理它,这些方法可能比你想象的要简单)”符合语境,引出处理孤独感的方法,起到过渡作用,其中的it指代前文的Loneliness。故选G。 【37题详解】 前文“Sign up for activities that interest you to meet people with similar hobbies. (参加你感兴趣的活动,结识有相似爱好的人)”建议去参加自己感兴趣的活动,后文“Don’t be afraid to approach someone first! (不要害怕先接近别人)”提到在活动上应主动接近他人,空处应该也与活动上应有的表现或行为有关。因此D项“Show interest in what you’re doing and the people around you. (对你正在做的事情和周围的人表现出兴趣)”符合语境,提到要对活动和人感兴趣,承前启后。故选D。 【38题详解】 后文“Sometimes, a comforting shoulder is all you need. Tell a trusted loved one how you feel, or just send a “Hi” to start a chat. Talking about your feelings may seem scary, but it can help you realize you’re not alone. (有时候,一个安慰的肩膀就是你所需要的。告诉一个值得信任的所爱的人你的感受,或者只是发一个“嗨”来开始聊天。谈论你的感受可能看起来很可怕,但它可以帮助你意识到你并不孤单)”主要建议在孤单的时候寻求他人的安慰,谈论自己的感受,空处是段落标题,需和其他段落标题一样使用祈使句的形式,应该与向别人寻求温暖或帮助相关。因此A项“Reach out to family and friends. (向家人和朋友求助)”符合语境,建议去求助,契合后文内容。故选A。 【39题详解】 后文“Eat food that make you feel good both inside and out. Move your body for at least 30 minutes a day. Do something you enjoy, like walking, hiking, swimming, or dancing. Get at least 7 hours of sleep and stick to a regular sleep schedule. (吃能让你里里外外都感觉良好的食物。每天至少运动30分钟。做一些你喜欢的事情,比如散步、远足、游泳或跳舞。保证至少7个小时的睡眠,并坚持有规律的睡眠时间表)”从饮食、锻炼和睡眠方面举例说明应该做哪些照顾自己的事情,空处是段首句,应该是总的指出照顾自己的方法。因此B项“Help yourself feel better by eating, exercising, and sleeping. (通过饮食、锻炼和睡眠让自己感觉更好)”符合语境,后文是对其解释说明。故选B。 【40题详解】 前文“Just write down whatever comes to mind! (只要写下你想到的任何东西)”提到日记的内容不受限,空处应该会进一步描述可以写的东西。因此C项“Your entries don’t have to be long or about anything specific. (你的记录不必很长,也不必有任何具体的内容)”符合语境,提到不必在意内容的长度和具体程度,承接前文。故选C。 第三部分:语言运用(共三节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的A、B、C和D四个选项中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项,并在答题纸上将该项涂黑。 I’ve spent my life avoiding uncomfortable situations. 注意: 1. 续写词数应150左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 “Let’s make our own,” Annabelle suggested, her eyes shining with excitement. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ “What are you doing?” asked Ethan, as he stepped into the garage and saw the decorations. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 “Let’s make our own,” Annabelle suggested, her eyes shining with excitement. “We can create our own Arbor Day decorations using things we have around the house. We’ll craft paper leaves and tree cutouts, and maybe even make some garlands with twine and pine cones.” Lucy’s face lit up as the idea began to take shape. Together, they rummaged through craft supplies, finding colored paper, scissors, and glue. They worked diligently, transforming plain materials into vibrant tree-themed decorations. By the time they finished, the garage had been transformed into a beautiful forest, ready to celebrate the day in true spirit. The two girls called Ethan to come over. “What are you doing?” asked Ethan, as he stepped into the garage and saw the decorations. Lucy and Annabelle beamed at him, their creation now complete. “It’s for Arbor Day,” Annabelle replied, her voice filled with pride. “We wanted to show you that even if it’s not a widely known holiday, it’s still special to us. And we hope it can be special to you too.” Ethan’s frown softened, and a hint of a smile played on his lips. “Alright,” he said, “I’ll play along. Lead the way.” As they walked out of the garage, hand in hand, Lucy felt a surge of happiness. Today, she had not only celebrated Arbor Day but also strengthened her bond with her friends, proving that sometimes, the best celebrations are the ones you create yourself. 词汇激活 行为类 ①发光:light up/glitter ②翻找:rummage through/hunt through ③朝……微笑:beam at /smile at 情绪类 ①骄傲;自豪:pride/glory ②幸福;开心:happiness/joy 【点睛】【高分句型1】Together, they rummaged through craft supplies, finding colored paper, scissors, and glue. 2】Annabelle replied, her voice filled with pride. Text one, I wonder whether .
