In my opinion, while AI is a beneficial tool, it is not wise of us to rely on it too much. On one hand, AI can help us generate ideas and correct grammar mistakes, which provide convenience and improve efficiency. On the other hand, over-reliance on AI may hinder our ability to think independently and creatively. Writing is not just about putting words together; it’s about expressing our thoughts and emotions. Therefore, I suggest AI should be used as a tool to assist us, rather than replace us. What’s more, we should focus on practicing our writing skills and cultivating our own unique writing style. Only in this way, can we truly improve our academic performance and personal growth. 67.Possible version 1: Sophie’s throat tightened, and for a moment she couldn’t speak. She felt as if she had lost a part of herself. For her, Sprite was not just a pony; he was a dear friend and companion and a source of so much joy. The thought of him being sold to someone else, of never seeing him again, was too overwhelming to bear. Tears welled up in her eyes, and she tried hard to hold them back. “I understand, Hollie. It’s just really hard to hear.” Her voice trembled with emotion. Hollie reached out and squeezed Sophie’s hand. “I know, Sophie, I wish things could be different.” Then, one evening, Hollie called, “Sophie, good news!” Sophie’s heart leaped. “What is it?” she asked eagerly. Hollie said that her parents and she had had a long talk and they had realized how much Sprite meant to Sophie, deciding not to sell him at last. Instead, they wanted Sophie to have him since she had taken such good care of him and it was only fair for him to stay with someone who loves him. Sophi e was overjoyed. She could hardly believe her ears. “Thank you, Hollie! Thank you so much!” she exclaimed, her voice filled with gratitude and excitement. From that day on, Sophie and Sprite’ s bond grew even stronger, and they continued to enjoy many wonderful rides together. Possible version 2: Sophie’s throat tightened, and for a moment she couldn’t speak. The news hit her like a ton of bricks. Sprite wasn’t just a pony; he was a companion, a confidant, and a cherished part of her life. The thought of him being sold to someone else, of never having those share days again, was too much to bear. She looked at Hollie, her eyes brimming with tears, and finally managed to choke out a single word. “Why?” It was all she could say, her voice trembling with emotion. Then, one evening, Hollie called, “Sophie, good news!” Sophie’s heart skipped a beat as she picked up the phone, hope and anxiety warring within her. Hollie’ s voice was filled with excitement as she continued, “I’ve found a way. I spoke to my parents again, and we’ve decided to keep Sprite. You can still have your share days, and we’ll figure out a way for you to help with his care. It won’t be perfect, but it’s better than losing him.” Sophie’s eyes welled up with tears of relief and joy. “Hollie, I can’t thank you enough. I promise I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure Sprite is well taken care of.” The future wasn’t certain, but for now, Sprite would stay, and that was all that mattered. 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 听力材料 1. 【原文】M: I’m going to take over my dad’s business and run the farm when I leave school. W: That sounds good. You always say you miss the farm. M: Actually, when I was a child, I wanted to be an animal doctor. I love the animals on the farm. 2. 【原文】M: I can’t believe it is snowing again. It’s supposed to be summer! W: The weather is becoming more and more extreme. Do you remember last summer? It didn’t rain for two months in a row. We nearly had a drought! 3. 【原文】M: Are you aware that your favorite author is doing a book signing this weekend? W: I know, but unfortunately, I’m flying to London on Friday, so I’m going to miss it. 4. 【原文】W: All right, if you insist. But please, allow me to pay next time. I invited you out to this restaurant. I’d love the chance to repay you. M: That’s so sweet. W: Thank you again. Or next time, maybe you can come to my place for dinner. 5. 【原文】M: I’ve been waiting for the file to download for half an hour, and it’s only at 60%. W: It should not be taking that long. The Internet is good, so try to restart your computer. 6. 【原文】M: My sister loves online shopping. She orders products almost every day. I don’t understand why she doesn’t go to the mall instead. W: Maybe she can’t find goods that she likes there. For me, I buy everything online — food, kitchen supplies, clothes and so on. M: But I think getting clothes from physical shops is better. You don’t have to wait, and you can try things before buying! W: Well, I understand how you feel. But online shopping is really convenient when you don’t have time to go in person! 7. 【原文】M: How did you open the door? I didn’t see you use a key. W: Oh, that’s my new front door lock. It only opens if it can see my face. M: How does that work? Do you have to download a program for your phone? W: No, just my face. It’s a cool piece of technology that I bought from a shop nearby. See this small screen by the front door? It takes a photo and checks on its system to see whether it’s me or not. M: What? And if it realizes it’s you, it just opens up? W: Yes! Plus it has a security camera. So, even if I’m in my office, I can see everything happens in front of my house through it. M: That’s amazing! 8. 【原文】W: So, what do you think of the apartment? M: It’s just what I’m looking for. It’s nice and big. The rent is affordable. It’s close to where I work, and I still can’t believe it has a garden! W: I’m so glad you like it! M: If it’s OK with you, I’ll take it! W: I’d be very happy to rent it to you. M: Fantastic! So, what happens next? W: Well, I have some papers that you’ll need to sign. M: Of course. The rent is £700 per month, right? W: Yes, and I prefer to get the first month’s rent plus an extra £500 in advance, in case any damage is done to the apartment. M: No problem. W: I’ll return this to you when you leave, assuming everything is left in good condition. M: OK. Does the building allow pets? W: No dogs or birds. They’re too noisy. But quiet animals such as cats are welcome. 9. 【原文】W: I’m so excited about the school play. I have a big role, and I have to learn a lot of lines. I’ve been in several plays, so I’m not worried. M: That’s so cool. I wish I had the confidence to do that. It seems like it would be fun, but I’ve never acted before. I’m too nervous. W: Oh, you should do it. We really need more actors. I’ve asked everyone I know to join…my friends, my brothers, and even my next-door neighbors. But no one wants to. M: Hmm, maybe I will. I love the story of Beauty and the Beast. W: Me too. And I’m playing Belle, the main girl in the play. You could try out for the Beast. Though he is one of the main roles, he doesn’t really talk that much. Or you could take one of the small roles, like Belle’s father or a person in the crowd. That would be easier. M: I’d like to challenge myself and play the main role. I promised myself that I would try new things and make more friends this year. This is the perfect chance to do that. 10. 【原文】Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to join me in this press conference today. After 23 years of playing football at the highest level, I have taken the decision to retire at the end of the season. I know this won’t come as a huge shock to most people, given that I’m now 41! Although my legs are getting less flexible, my mind is as sharp as ever. I believe I still have what it takes to play football at this level. However, my body doesn’t agree! It takes me longer to recover after games, and I get hurt more easily. My body keeps sending signals that it can’t take anymore. I just want to thank the football club for their support over the years, and all my teammates. But mostly I want to thank all of you — my fans. Thank you all for cheering me on during the good times, and picking me up during the bad times. I’ve loved every minute of playing for this wonderful club. I wish you all the very best for the future. Goodbye, and thank you once again for everything. I'm going to take over my dad's business and run the farm when I leave school. B Imagine a potter(陶工), sitting quietly on a small chair, holding soft clay(黏土) in his hands, sculpting it as he spins the pottery wheel. The clay’s fate is completely in the potter’s hands. A skilled potter would turn it into a beautiful container but the same clay, when handed to a green hand, may be ruined. Just as the potter shapes clay into containers, our lives are shaped by the hands of our surroundings — the people we meet, the places we go, each conversation and every experience shape us into who we are. Jim Rohn once said, “You are the average of the top 5 people you spend your most time with.” Now think about the company you keep — the ones who share your joys, wipe tears away and share your dreams. Every part of you is nothing but their average. Back in middle school, most of my classmates didn’t quite match my level of intellect (智力). More often than not, I stood out from them; although it felt really satisfying, it somehow lacked the challenge I desired. It wasn’t until I started high school that I found what I was searching for. High school did feel frightening at first. I found myself surrounded by brighter, wiser and prettier faces than I ever imagined. I felt inadequate compared to them, but it was in that discomfort that I found growth. To grow, you got to be with people who stand out in areas where you fall short, those who inspire you to learn and improve. Just as tough competition pushes athletes to stand out, great people bring out the best in you. So, find your people, people who’ll inspire and uplift you, who have qualities you want. They wouldn’t simply hand you success but force you to lift yourself higher and higher. But if negativity surrounds you, don’t expect positive changes in your life. If you’re always with people who see nothing but reasons why things can’t be done, then that will also become your reality. 24. What does the author compare our surroundings to? A. The clay. B. The potter. C. The pottery wheel. D. The container. 25. Which of the following best describes the author’s high school? A.Rewarding. B. Painful. C. Dull. D. Thrilling. 26. Who does the author suggest readers be with in order to grow? A.People who motivate them to advance. B.People who match their level of intellect. C.People who work in the same area as they do. D.People who share happiness and sorrow with them. 27. What is the message conveyed in the text? A. Success loves a successful company. B. Positivity outweighs hard work. C. Birds of a feather gather together. D. Toughness leads to success. C Do you know what percentage of your family’s total expenses is spent on food? This is the main focus of the Engel coefficient (恩格尔系数), an economic concept that describes the relationship between income and spending on food. For years, it has been considered an important measure of people’s living standards. If the figure is high, then it is often believed that the standard of living is low, as a large share of income is spent on food. However, recently a topic has gone viral (迅速走红) on Chinese social media platforms, where many people have begun to question whether the Engel coefficient is relevant in China. One of the key reasons for this concern comes from the Chinese attitude toward food, shown by the old saying, “Food is of primary importance to the people.” This highlights the significant difference between China’s food culture and consumption habits and those of Western countries. The food culture in China is rich and diverse, and people are willing to spend more money and energy on it. “In the past, I earned 100 yuan a day and spent half of it on food. Now I earn 1,000 yuan a day, and I still spend half of it on food. Having a good meal makes my day,” a user from Hunan commented or Sina Weibo. Food in China is a science, a social activity and an art, reported China Highlights. The principles of traditional Chinese medicine are employed all over China to create healthy, well-balanced meals. Whether on a snack street, in a restaurant or at someone's home, food is often the common ground over which people gather to talk and share. “Many aspects of Chinese spiritual culture are connected to food, from governance (治理) to communication,” Wang Xuetai, a professor at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told Guangming Daily. “Chinese traditional culture focuses on seeing society and life from the perspective of food, and Chinese people are very good at enjoying the beauty and meaning found in everyday meals.” These factors make consumption habits in China different from those in other countries, making the Engel coefficient not able to completely reflect the living standards of Chinese people. Moreover, this public concern shows just how deeply food is valued in Chinese society, reported Guangming Daily. 28. What does the Engel coefficient indicate? A.The lowest standard of living. B.The cost of basic living expenses. C.The share of income spent on food. D.The quality of meals people can afford. 29. Why do many people question the relevance of the Engel coefficient in China? A.Rising living standards have made it less relevant. B.Chinese food culture and consumption habits are unique. C.The Engel coefficient is an outdated economic concept. D.China has a completely different economic system. 30. What is the purpose of mentioning the Sina Weibo user’s words in the text? A.To highlight the user’s unique spending habits. B.To emphasize the importance of saving money. C.To show the user’s changing income and spending patterns. D.To illustrate the significance of food in Chinese culture. 31. What role does food play in Chinese culture according to Wang Xuetai? A.It reflects people’s focus on health. B.It shapes modern consumer trends. C.It is a tool for economic governance. D.It connects spiritual values and social life. D A quote from the American writer, F. Scott Fitzgerald, reads, “To be kind is more important than to be right. Many times, what people need is not a brilliant mind that speaks but a special heart that listens.” Often, we clamor (大声地要求) to be right, to dazzle people with our knowledge and intellect, to show them we are the “superior know-it-all”. However, upon reflection, I find that Fitzgerald’s quote resonates with me more. In this fast-paced, competitive society, most people would want to strive for excellence, to be the best they can be. There is nothing wrong with this. However, there are certain individuals who take it a step further and make it their personal motto to exhibit their one-upmanship (胜人一筹) against anyone whose views differ from theirs. They believe intensely that their values and their knowledge are flawless. Often such people will out-talk those who disagree with them. While they may have seemingly won the argument, is there any real meaning to this? Both parties are likely to dig their heels in and unlikely to admit they are wrong, until one side gives in or gives up. In contrast, I believe it is far more important to be kind than right. Even if we know we are right, we do not have to press our views on others. We should in fact listen more, and learn to appreciate viewpoints that are different from ours. As the famed American educator Stephen Covey once said, “Seek first to understand, then be understood.” Often, we listen not to understand but to contradict the other person. In an argument with someone, we do not even listen to what the other person has to say because while they talk, we are already mentally trying to find ways to shoot down their ideas. It would be far better to silence our minds and to actually pay attention to what the other person is saying. Moreover, the insistence on being right all the time comes with its own extra damage — human relationships are hurt in the process. To prove we are right, we become judgmental. We consider the other person to be less worthy because they are “wrong”. To be right means we put ourselves in the front and center of the relationship, ignoring the feelings of the other party. Friendships and even family relationships become tense just for the sake of winning the argument, when love and empathy would have worked better to ease the tension. 32. Why does the author mention Fitzgerald’s quote in the first paragraph? A.To present the fact. B. To make a contrast. C.To introduce the topic. D. To provide an example. 33. Which best explains the underlined phrase “dig their heels in”? A. Admit one’s mistake. B. Win an argument. C. Stick to one’s points. D. Accept others’ views. 34. According to paragraph 3, why do people often listen in an argument? A. To oppose others’ ideas. B. To appreciate different views. C.To silence others’ minds. D. To seek mutual understanding. 35. Which of the following would the author probably agree with? A. Arguing enables us to get closer to the truth. B. Life is not a race about being right or wrong. C. Quality human relationships are easy to hurt. D. Striving for excellence causes most arguments. 第二节(共 5 小题;每小题 2.5 分,满分 12.5 分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Is studying 12 hours a day possible? This is a question that many students ask themselves when faced with a heavy workload or upcoming exams. 36 It’s important to assess your own capabilities and limitations. Not everyone can maintain focus for such long periods of time, so be realistic about what you can handle. Consider the quality of your study sessions rather than just the quantity of hours spent. It’s better to have shorter but more focused study sessions to absorb information effectively than longer sessions. 37 Our brains need time to rest and recharge in order to store information. So, make sure to schedule a short rest every hour or two. Moreover, creating a structured schedule and sticking to it can help maximize productivity.   38 One of the biggest challenges when it comes to studying for long hours is maintaining concentration. It’s easy to get distracted or lose focus when you’re spending extended periods of time studying. 39 Create a good study environment. Find a quiet and comfortable place where you won’t be easily disturbed. Remove any distractions such as your phone or social media notifications. 40 This could include reminder devices, mind maps, or even teaching the material to others. By actively engaging with the content, you’ll find it easier to concentrate for longer periods. Another helpful tip is to prioritize quality sleep and physical exercise alongside your studies to make your brain and body better equipped for extended periods of focused work. A. Remember that you have your own pace of learning. B. The answer is both yes and no, as it depends on several factors. C. Furthermore, taking regular breaks is essential. D. Set specific goals for each study session and track your progress along the way. E. Generally speaking, the more hours you spend, the better you will learn. F. She had been sharing Sprite for nearly a year, ever since she and Hollie, his owner, had started a friendship. Hollie was a bit older than Sophie, but the two of them got on so well it never seemed to matter. Sophie loved going to shows to help Hollie out when she was competing, holding Sprite’s reins (缰绳) while Hollie adjusted her helmet, and cheering from the sidelines. But Sophie’s favourite part of the week was her share days when she could ride, brush, and play with Sprite as if he were her own. As Sophie got closer to the yard, she spotted a familiar figure by the gate. Hollie was there, waving. It was unusual to see Hollie at the yard on a weekday like this, and Sophie felt a small flutter of nerves. But she brushed it off. Maybe Hollie just wanted to chat or tell her about an upcoming show. Once Sophie had cooled Sprite down and returned him to his stable (马厩), she found Hollie waiting in the tack room. The smile on Hollie’s face wasn’t as bright as usual. “Hey, Soph, can we talk for a minute?” Hollie asked. Sophie nodded, her heart beating a little faster. Hollie sat down on a blanket box, and Sophie followed, still holding her riding gloves in her hand. “Sophie, I’ve got some news.” Hollie began, her voice gentle. “You know I’m finishing school this year, right? Well, I’ve decided to go to university. And with me being away, I won’t be able to take care of Sprite anymore.” Sophie’s stomach dropped. “Oh,” she whispered. Hollie took a deep breath. “I’ve talked it over with my parents, and we’ve decided that the best thing to do is to sell him. I hate to do it, but it’s the right choice. I want to tell you first because I know how much you love him.” 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Sophie’s throat tightened, and for a moment she couldn’t speak. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Then, one evening, Hollie called, “Sophie, good news!” _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 1 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
