A Reflection on My High School Days
August 28, 2018, was my first day of high school, and May 26, 2022, was my last.
It is known that in the week leading up to the first day of school, everyone’s social media “stories” will be flooded with class schedules. That was how I found out that I had tons of existing middle school friends in almost each one of my classes. Lucky for freshman me! Still, throughout my high school years, I made an effort to make friends. These years is one of the best times in your life to form long-term friendships. But I also simply enjoy getting to know people, which is something that I think contributes greatly to my love of journalism and interviewing.
My one regret from freshman year is that, for much of it, I wasn’t actively involved in student life. Keeping my grades the best was a bigger priority (优先事项). However, in the spring of freshman year, I decided to take a big chance and run for the upcoming sophomore (二年级) class council (委员会).
My best memory from sophomore year, and maybe even high school, was a 2019 trip to Disney. I, along with other South Lakes students, was selected to sing at the annual Candlelight Processional Show. I felt nothing but pride representing South Lakes on stage surrounded by so many talented people.
As to my senior year, it consisted of stressful college applications and a lot of burnout (精疲力竭). I grew a lot as a person, and I think if freshman me could see senior me, she would he proud. I held many leadership positions throughout the year and was a role model to younger students. More than anything. I can say that senior year taught me the value of hard work. friendship, and building relationships. As I sit here writing this, I think of a sentence I recently came cross online: “Don’t count the days; make every day count.” I know I’m going to miss my high school days.

YouTube phenomenon IShowSpeed’s recent tour of China has unexpectedly become a masterclass in cultural diplomacy. The 19-year-old streamer, with his 37 million f 51 , has become an accidental ambassador for Chinese soft power through his exploration of Beijing and Shanghai.
Speed’s livestreams from China have captured global attention, as he bounced between landmarks like the Great Wall and engaged with locals. His c 52 has created a rare crossover moment between Western and Chinese social media ecosystems.

Dear Mr. Wang,
I am Li Feng, the volunteer who assists at the library every Monday afternoon. I am extremely sorry for missing my shift for the library organization work this week.
The reason for my absence was a sudden and severe stomachache that prevented me from attending. I was in so much pain that I couldn’t make it to the library. I deeply regret the inconvenience this may have caused.
To make amends for my mistake, I would like to volunteer to work extra hours this Saturday. Furthermore, I will be more mindful of my schedule to ensure that this won’t happen again. I sincerely hope you can forgive me for my oversight.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Yours sincerely,
Li Feng
