The findings were published in the US Journal Science and presented at the American Geophysical Union’s fall meeting in San Francisco. “It is important to note that we have not found signs of ancient life on Mars. What we have found is that there once existed a lake on its surface which might make it possible for some simple living things to live billions of years ago,” Professor Sanjeev Gupta said. Gupta described the new research as “a huge positive step” for the exploration of Mars.
In previous(先前的) studies, scientists found evidence(证据)of water on Mars’ surface in other rocks. However, the new research provides the strongest evidence yet that Mars could have been habitable enough for life to continue.

What’s in your face?
Your face might be the most unique part of your physical appearance. ____1____ has something about their face that’s a little different. And that difference makes facial recognition possible.
This technology can be seen in many films. In the science-fiction classic: A Space Odyssey, a powerful AI-controlled computer called HAL 9000 is able to “____2____” the emotions of human astronauts by scanning (扫描) their faces. And in the 1987 action classic: Robocop, a half-robot police officer identifies (识别) a criminal by scanning his ____3____ and finding it in a computer.
Today facial recognition tech has become reality. It is mainly used as a ____4____ method to identify criminals. In 2018, facial recognition technology was used to identify and catch criminals who were attending concerts by Hong Kong singer Jacky Cheung. And if you have a recent model of Apple’s iPhone, you probably already known that you can unlock the phone with your face. But those are ____5____ a few of the things we can use facial recognition for. The possibilities, it seems, are endless.
Take Grab for example. Grab is a ride-hailing (叫车服务) company in southeast Asia that uses facial recognition technology to protect passengers from danger. Monty Robert’s father was a horse trainer. As a child, Monty often went from one farm to another with his father. Sometimes they didn’t have enough money to pay for food, but Monty still kept hoping to own a horse farm.
Once, the teacher asked the students to write a composition about their dreams. Monty wrote a seven-page composition. He wanted to have a horse farm one day. He even drew a picture of a horse farm in the composition.
The next day he handed it in to his teacher. Two days later, he got his paper back. On the front page was a large red “F” with the words “See me after class”. So the boy went to the teacher’s office and asked her, “Why did I get an F?” The teacher said, “This dream will not come true for a young boy like you. You need a lot of money to own a horse farm. You have to buy the land. You have to pay for a lot of things. There is no way you could ever do it.” Then the teacher added, “If you write this composition again with a simpler goal, I will give you a good grade.”
After school he thought hard about it. At last, he decided to hand in the same paper, making no changes at all. He wrote: “You can keep the F and I’ll keep my dream.”
Many years later, Monty had his own large horse farm. His dream came true.
So don’t let anyone take away your dreams. Follow your dreams, no matter what they are.

Soon Julian realized that she was in the forest by herself. She needed to find her way to a village.

When Julian found a river, she followed it. She knew that there were often villages near a river. She walked for days. She often met dangerous animals along the way. The findings were published in the US Journal Science and presented at the American Geophysical Union’s fall meeting in San Francisco. “It is important to note that we have not found signs of ancient life on Mars. Gupta described the new research as “a huge positive step” for the exploration of Mars.

Your face might be the most unique part of your physical appearance. ____1____ has something about their face that’s a little different. And that difference makes facial recognition possible.
