What does the man/woman like to do?
Why does he/she like...?
When/Where will the activity be held?
What can we infer about the man?
How does the woman feel about...?
What are the speakers mainly talking about?
What is the main purpose of the announcement?
I'm interested in... / I'm into... / I'm a big fan of...
My hobby is... / I enjoy/love/like...
In my free time/spare time, I often...
What about going to...? / How about...?
I'd rather... / I prefer...
It's so much fun / amazing / relaxing.
I can't wait to... / I'm looking forward to...

当听到一个兴趣爱好时,立刻留意后面是否跟着 because, so that, I think...
M: Why not join the photography club?
W: That sounds great, but I'm not sure if I have time.

It performed a variety of functions, including setting alarms, creating to-do lists, and providing real-time information such as weather, traffic and other news. Two years later, Google came out with the $180 Google Home. In 2017, the toy company Mattel came out with Aristotle, their idea of a personal assistant, aimed at kids. If you are in the market for one of these smart assistants, there are a number of things to consider. For instance, Google Home can answer a wide variety of questions and has a music library of 35 million songs. It also has many functions that work well with the TV, and is $50 cheaper than Amazon Echo. Echo can all be operated just by voice command. It has a music library of 2 million songs. Mattel’s Aristotle can do most of what the other two can, but is meant to be more of a personal companion to children. It can be used as a baby camera in your child’s early years, and still be useful until around middle school. It plays interactive games with them, reads to them, and serves as an instructional resource as the children grow up. In summary, all three have their benefits.

Anyway, they said I had to do a year’s business course first after high school. I didn’t like it at the time, but later, it made a big difference to me. And the other thing I did during that year was to get a part-time job in the office of a small factory making good quality clothes.
Then I did two years at the local art college. I wanted to go to London straight away, but my parents insisted. So I stayed at home until I won a prize for a design which actually gave me a place at a London college for nine months. I went on to spend three wonderful years in Milan. Then I got the job in New York for a year, which was really exciting, but unbelievably stressful. I think it is probably because I was too far away from my family and missed them very much. So, I ended up in London, starting my own company.

M: Hello, I’m Maxim Vengarov, and I’m very happy to share with you my connection with open Tchaikovsky Competition. It was June 1986 when I came to Moscow to participate in open Tchaikovsky Competition at the age of 10 from Chelyabinsk. This was actually the turning point of my life. Then I attended a world music festival in Berlin. And it was interesting to say that a kid made his breakthrough already at the age of 10. And that was me. Now as a judge of the competition, I can see clearly the huge challenges facing the musicians in the competition. Where else can you see young players playing within ten days—classical works and Russian traditional music before coming to the final stage? As a musician, it’s important to give maximum attention and time to your own reflections of your own feelings. So, what I’m really looking for in the competition is to meet someone who can touch me musically. I want to see the seed, at least the seed of the great tree that can grow. I would go for this violinist. I would go for this musician.

When I saw Usain Bolt running in 2012 London Olympics, I was amazed. Just watching him run, got me motivated. I quit being a chess player and started to run. I went to the 2016 Olympics and went to the finals at the age of 18. And wow, I finished fifth. It was a dream come true to me, but I still wanted more. The training is super hard. But the hardest part for me is that I got an injury, an injury which may take me out for years. For a period of time, as a young athlete, I didn’t know what to do. I lost focus. But now, I’m back on the track. I really want to be there at the Olympics and do what I did before. Do much, much greater. I don’t care about the gold, I don’t care about the silver. I want to do my best, you know, take everything and show it to the world.

In the mornings, we learned baseball skills. In the afternoons, we took part in some interesting activities. On our first day, for example, we visited a traditional Taiwanese farm. We learned to make rice dumplings with the local people. Later, we also visited local museums and restaurants.
The best part of my trip was meeting kids from around the world. The children came from different countries, including France, Holland, Japan and Mexico. Most of us spoke different languages, but that didn’t matter. We could use baseball as an international language to communicate and create friendship.

I'd rather... / I prefer...
It's so much fun / amazing / relaxing.

M: Why not join the photography club?
W: That sounds great, but I'm not sure if I have time.
