When I was a child, my family lived a simple life in a small town. My father was a hardworking factory worker, and my mother took care of the household. We didn’t have much money, but we had a lot of love.
One summer, my father decided to take us on a camping trip. I was so excited! I had never been camping before. We packed up our tent, sleeping bags, and some food, and set off for the mountains.
When we arrived at the campsite, it was beautiful. There were tall trees, a clear stream, and a big field. We set up our tent and then went for a walk. I saw all kinds of wildflowers and butterflies. It was like a magical place.
That night, we sat around the campfire and told stories. My father told us about his childhood, and my mother sang some old songs. I felt so happy and content. I realized that it didn’t matter how much money we had. What mattered was being together as a family.
The next day, we went fishing in the stream. I caught my first fish! It was a small trout, but I was so proud. We cooked the fish over the campfire and it tasted delicious.
As we were packing up to go home, I knew that this camping trip would be a memory that I would cherish forever.

Most of us spend our lives surrounded by screens, which offer us convenience as well as connection and an ocean of information. But since it’s easy to feel pressured to keep up with every notification, technology may feel more like a burden than a blessing. Thus, the idea of “digital detox” is becoming increasingly inviting.
The phrase “digital detox” describes getting rid of TV, phones, computers and other forms of technology that control our lives for a period of time. Some experts advocate completely avoiding unnecessary screen time for 30 years. Others suggest using an app that will limit the amount of time one can spend on certain websites. A third option is logging out in evenings or on weekends. Others simply turn their phones off at scheduled times. Some even pay high prices to take vacations in places where they can unplug from their digital routine.
Why might you want to take a digital detox? Perhaps you find that you are spending longer than you intend on certain apps or that they distract you from more important things. Perhaps social media is depressing because you compare yourself to others or you fear missing out on things that other people are enjoying. Constant negative news can also give rise to a lot of stress.
Technology can also have physical effects. Many people experience back or neck pain as a result of bending over screens. The blue light coming from most screens can also affect people’s sleep by preventing production of melatonin
Giving up all screens may not be realistic, but strategic breaks from technology may be good for your body, mind, emotions and relationships. It is high time that you picked a time to turn off your devices and focus on really important things.
28.Why does the author say “technology may feel more like a burden than a blessing” in paragraph 1?
A.To confirm a concept. B.To present a problem.
C.To explain a rule. D.To make a prediction.
29.What does the underlined word “unplug” in paragraph 2 mean?
A.Recover. B.Benefit. C.Escape. D.Suffer.
30.Which could be the reason for one to start “digital detox”?
A.Exposure to false news. B.Apps selection difficulty.
C.Fear of being left behind. D.Pressure from social comparison.
31.What is the purpose of the text?
A.To recommend healthy lifestyles. B.To call for reducing the use of digital devices.
C.To give instructions on starting digital detox. D.To present different attitudes to digital products.

The integration of AI tools in medical check-ups has reached a key stage. A major study published in Nature Medicine (2025) shows that doctors using AI tools detected breast cancer in 6.7 cases per 1,000 checks — a 17.6% improvement over old methods. Conducted across 12 German hospitals with 461,818 people, this research provides the strongest proof to date on AI’s real-world value.
Led by Prof. Alexander Katalinic, the study had a special design: doctors could choose when to use AI during check-ups. In 260,079 AI-assisted checks, the tool not only found more cases but also made results more exact. Lab tests following AI-aided checks confirmed cancerous cells in nearly two-thirds of cases (64.5%), compared to 9.2% without AI—a seven times higher accuracy. “This beats our initial goal of proving AI is not worse than humans,” said co-author Stefan Bunk, highlighting the success of human-AI teamwork.
However, the study found key problems. Doctors spent 47% less time on scans marked “normal” by AI (16 seconds vs.30 seconds), raising concerns about trusting AI too much. “Faster checks might miss underlying issues,” warned expert Dr. Lena Müller. The study also found income-related differences: wealthier patients used AI tools more often, possibly making healthcare gaps worse.
To address these issues, the team proposes a three-step approach. First, all AI-marked “normal” scans must be double-checked by medical professionals. Second, governments should fund AI tools in public hospitals to ensure equal access. Third, doctors are required to complete yearly training courses on AI’s technical limits and bias detection.
As Prof. Ben Glocker notes, “This is about building a partnership — AI finds patterns, while doctors care for the whole patient.” With breast cancer cases expected to rise 42% by 2040, such tools could redefine preventive care.
32.What made the research special?
A.Doctors decided the timing of using AI.
B.It involved hospitals in different regions.
C.Doctors focused on breast cancer detection.
D.It compared AI performance across age groups.
33.What can we infer from Stefan Bunk’s words?
A.AI has no value in check-ups.
B.AI can replace human doctors.
C.AI is overestimated in application.
D.AI performs far better than expected.
34.What problem does the study mention about faster scanning with AI?
A.AI use could lead to too many false alarms.
B.Doctors may become too dependent on AI.
C.AI tools may not be as accurate as human doctors.
D.Rushing checks with AI could miss hidden problems.
35.What is the main purpose of the three-step approach?
A.To commercialize medical AI systems.
B.To partially replace human judgment.
C.To ensure responsible AI application.
D.To change the training method of AI.
You deserve to have things you enjoy, and there’s nothing wrong with chasing the thrill of going shopping. 36 . But when it gets out of hand, or when it damages our finances, it can become a problem. Luckily, you can learn some tips on how to stop it.
Make an “emotional spending” budget
It’s OK to buy yourself something special sometimes as a reward for self-care. The problem is that we may end up overspending when we act on our emotions constantly. Creating an “emotional spending” budget can help, because it will remind you to make a more conscious decision to shop. 37 .
Find healthier ways to cope with your emotions
When you engage in emotional spending, you are often looking to use those positive feelings that come with making a purchase. Dopamine (多巴胺) is released when we are shopping, which can feel like an instant reward. 38 . Exercising, or pursuing a hobby can be healthy and fulfilling alternatives.
Check on your finances regularly
39 . We may be unclear what we have spent, and what we have left to spend. And if you are an emotional spender, you may find yourself spending more than you earn frequently. Take some time to check on your accounts regularly, which will help you think more wisely about spending your money.
40
When you feel the urge to make a non-essential purchase, hit the pause button. Give yourself some time to think about whether you truly need the item, or if it’s just an emotional whim Often, the impulse will fade, and you’ll be glad you didn’t make the purchase.
A.Ask for professional help.
B.Give yourself a cooling-off period
C.Many of us aren’t clear about our finances
D.They make us feel confident about ourselves
E.It’s fine to enjoy a little emotional spending sometimes
F.Set a monthly or weekly amount you can afford and stick to it

I am a very anxious person. There is rarely a moment when my head is completely clear and I am devoting all of my attention to one subject matter. I can’t even relax in my sleep: I solve math problems in my dreams more than I would like to admit.
It was freshman year and I wanted to explore the new and exciting electives (选修课) that I could enroll in and that my middle school didn’t offer. As I was carefully studying the list of what seemed like a million courses I could take, one stuck out: Interior Design. My mom and I watch HGTV every Sunday morning as we drink coffee. After watching so many of these shows, I was confident that I could design a whole house. What could go wrong? It’s just about colors, patterns, textures and furniture, right?
At the end of the semester, we were at the final stretch of the year, with only about a week left of regular classes before finals, and we were working on our final projects. The assignment was simple: “Design a 3D model of a room in your dream home.” “Perfect,” I thought to myself, “an easy 100 final grade.”
As I dived into my final project, I quickly realized that designing a 3D model of a room in my dream home was far from the piece of cake I had pictured. At first, I was overwhelmed by the complexity of the software. It wasn’t just about picking colors and arranging furniture; it was about understanding dimensions, angles, and lighting. Every time I thought I had a handle on it, something would go wrong. The walls wouldn’t arrange in a line, the furniture would float in mid-air, and the colors I chose looked nothing like they did on-screen.
My anxiety began to grow. I found myself staying up late into the night, staring at my computer screen, and feeling more and more frustrated with each passing minute. I started to doubt myself. What if I wasn’t cut out for this? What if I failed the course because of this one project?
注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
I decided to reach out for help and approached my mom one day.

W: When I heard college staff were required for a learning exchange trip to Ørestad Gymnasium in Copenhagen, I was quick to sign up. I’d heard great things about this innovative school and wanted to see it for myself. Upon arrival, after the students had been paired up with their exchange partners, I was introduced to Anna, the Spanish teacher who would be hosting me. She gave me a tour and I soon understood what makes the school so different. Firstly, there are no classrooms. Instead, the huge open space is divided up into four large “study zones”, each on a separate level and connected by stairs. Each study zone is separated by bookshelves to create smaller “group areas”. The few more traditional classrooms, mainly science labs, have glass walls to maintain the open feel. The idea is to create a sense of togetherness and develop the students’ independent learning abilities. Learning here is entirely digital, and learning materials can be acquired online at any time. Study schedules are flexible, and teachers act mostly as coaches, leaving students responsible for their own learning. With 1,100 16- to 19-year-olds “running wild”, I expected school days to be noisy. Instead, I was extremely amazed to discover a quiet, focused atmosphere. Giving students adult responsibility seems to help them learn good habits and prepare them for the real world.

根据第一段中“Most of us spend our lives surrounded by screens, which offer us convenience as well as connection and an ocean of information. But since it’s easy to feel pressured to keep up with every notification, technology may feel more like a burden than a blessing.(我们大多数人的一生都生活在屏幕的包围之中,这些屏幕为我们带来了便利、联系以及海量的信息。
根据第二段中“The phrase “digital detox” describes getting rid of TV, phones, computers and other forms of technology that control our lives for a period of time.(“数字戒瘾”这个表述指的是暂时停止使用电视、手机、电脑以及其他那些掌控我们生活的科技产品)”可知,“数字脱瘾”是指摆脱电视、电话等数字生活。
根据第三段中“Perhaps social media is depressing because you compare yourself to others or you fear missing out on things that other people are enjoying. Constant negative news can also give rise to a lot of stress.(或许社交媒体让人感到沮丧,是因为你会将自己与他人进行比较,或者你会担心自己会错过别人正在享受的精彩事物。持续不断的负面新闻也会带来大量的压力)”可知,一个人可能开始“数字脱瘾”的原因是把自己和别人比较,也就是来自社会比较的压力。故选D。
31.推理判断题。根据最后一段中“Giving up all screens may not be realistic, but strategic breaks from technology may be good for your body, mind, emotions and relationships. It is high time that you picked a time to turn off your devices and focus on really important things.(完全放弃使用电子设备或许不太现实,但有计划地暂时远离科技产品可能对你的身体、思维、情绪以及人际关系都有好处。是时候选一个时间关掉你的设备,专注于真正重要的事情了)”可知,作者认为是关掉你的设备专注于重要的事情的时候了,可以推测出文章的目的是呼吁减少使用数码设备。故选B。

【答案】32.A 33.D 34.D 35.C
根据第二段“Led by Prof. Alexander Katalinic, the study had a special design: doctors could choose when to use AI during check-ups.(由亚历山大・卡塔林尼克教授领导的这项研究有一个特殊的设计:医生可以在检查过程中选择何时使用人工智能。)” 故选A项。
根据第二段“‘This beats our initial goal of proving AI is not worse than humans,’ said co-author Stefan Bunk, highlighting the success of human-AI teamwork.(‘这超出了我们最初证明人工智能并不比人类差的目标,’合著者斯特凡・邦克说,强调了人类-人工智能团队合作的成功。)”
根据第四段“To address these issues, the team proposes a three-step approach. First, all AI-marked ‘normal’ scans must be double-checked by medical professionals. Second, governments should fund AI tools in public hospitals to ensure equal access. Third, doctors are required to complete yearly training courses on AI’s technical limits and bias detection.(为了解决这些问题,该团队提出了一个三步方法。
F.Set a monthly or weekly amount you can afford and stick to it
G.But there are many healthier ways to release those happy feelings
36.根据上文“You deserve to have things you enjoy, and there’s nothing wrong with chasing the thrill of going shopping.(你值得拥有自己喜欢的东西,追求购物带来的兴奋感也没有什么不对)”及下文“But when it gets out of hand, or when it damages our finances, it can become a problem.(但当它失控,或者损害我们的财务状况时,就会成为一个问题)”可知,空后开始转折,该空主要承接上文,表示对情绪性购物是认可的。 E. It’s fine to enjoy a little emotional spending sometimes(偶尔进行一些情感性消费是可以的)符合语境,“a little”与下文中的“out of hand”是两种情感消费的程度,意思是偶尔可以,失控了就是一个大问题了。故选E项。
Make an “emotional spending” budget(制定一个“情感性消费”预算)及上文“Creating an ‘emotional spending’ budget can help, because it will remind you to make a more conscious decision to shop.(制定一个“情感性消费”预算会有帮助,因为它会提醒你更理性地做出购物决定)”可知,对于情感性消费应该要在消费额度上进行限制,由此可知,F. Set a monthly or weekly amount you can afford and stick to it(设定一个你负担得起的每月或每周的金额,并坚持下去)符合语境。故选F项。
Find healthier ways to cope with your emotions(寻找更健康的情绪应对方式)及上文“Dopamine (多巴胺) is released when we are shopping, which can feel like an instant reward.(购物时会释放多巴胺,这会让人感觉像是一种即时的奖励)”及下文“Exercising, or pursuing a hobby can be healthy and fulfilling alternatives.(锻炼身体或追求一项爱好可以是健康且充实的替代方式)”可知,前面表示购物的确可以让人心情好,后文建议了健康的方式释放情绪,所以此处应该转折,表示不要依赖购物消费这一种方式,还有别的方法。 G. But there are many healthier ways to release those happy feelings(但有许多更健康的方式来释放这些快乐情绪)承上启下。故选G项。
Check on your finances regularly(定期检查财务状况)及下文“We may be unclear what we have spent, and what we have left to spend.(我们可能不清楚自己已经花了多少钱,以及还剩下多少钱可以花)”可知,本段讲财务状况,下一句表示我们很多人不知道自己花了多少,余额多少。 C. Many of us aren’t clear about our finances(我们中的许多人对自己的财务状况并不清楚)符合语境。故选C项。
根据下文“When you feel the urge to make a non-essential purchase, hit the pause button. Give yourself some time to think about whether you truly need the item, or if it’s just an emotional whim (心血来潮). Often, the impulse will fade, and you’ll be glad you didn’t make the purchase.(当你感到冲动想要进行非必需品的购买时,按下暂停键。给自己一些时间思考你是否真的需要这件商品,还是这只是一时的情绪冲动。通常,冲动会逐渐消退,你会庆幸自己没有做出购买决定)”可知,本段主要建议读者在情绪冲动想要购物时,先停下来冷静思考,分析是否有必要买这个东西。由此可知,B. Give yourself a cooling-off period(给自己一个冷静时间)符合语境。故选B项。

My View on the New Schedule
I’m really excited about the new schedule that our school will conduct next term. The extended break between classes allows us to relax and recharge, and having a daily PE class is a great way to stay fit. Moreover, the longer self-study time will help us better manage our studies.
With this new schedule, I plan to use the extra break time to take a short walk outside the classroom, which can relieve eye tiredness. During the PE class, I’ll actively participate in various sports activities to improve my physical condition. As for the extended self-study time, I’ll make a detailed plan to review and preview my courses.
In conclusion, I believe the new schedule is a well-planned arrangement. Not only will it benefit our physical health, but it will also help us achieve better academic results. I’m looking forward to the new term.

注意:1. 续写词数应为150个左右;

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I decided to reach out for help and approached my mom one day. Tears welled up in my eyes as I spilled out all my frustrations about the project. “I just can’t seem to get it right,” I sobbed. My mom listened patiently, and then gave me a reassuring hug. “Design isn’t just about getting everything perfect technically,” she said. “It’s about expressing yourself and having fun with it. Come on! We’ll work on it together.” Afterwards, we dived back into the project with renewed energy. My mom helped me navigate the software, offering tips and tricks she had picked up from watching all those HGTV shows. We chose a color that reflected my cheerful personality and picked out furniture that fit the style I was going for.
Armed with my mom’s support, I spent days fully engaged in my project. I adjusted the lighting, aligned the walls, and arranged the furniture. As I worked, I felt a sense of calm wash over me. For the first time, my anxious mind was focused solely on creating something beautiful. When I finally presented my project, I was thrilled with it. The room I had designed was a perfect blend of style and comfort, and a reflection of who I was. And as I looked at my mom, who was beaming with pride, I knew that I couldn’t have done it without her support. Together, we had turned my frustration into a masterpiece.
