Everyone has their own preferences—things they like or enjoy. These can be very different from one person to another. Learning about and respecting (尊重) each other’s preferences helps us make better choices and enjoy life more.
For example, food preferences could not be the same. Some people like vegetables, while others love meat more. Respecting these differences is important so that everyone can enjoy the meals together.
People also have different preferences for activities. Some love sports, but others prefer reading. Outdoor activities like hiking or cycling are fun for some, while others like staying indoors to watch movies or play games. It’s great to find activities everyone can enjoy, but it’s also fine to do what you love on your own. After all, hobbies and interests are personal.
How people spend free time can also be different. Some like listening to music to relax, while others enjoy hanging out with friends. There’s no right way to spend your time—it’s about what makes you happy. Trying new things is good, but doing what you love is the most important.
Talking about what we like and respecting others’ choices helps us get along better. Whether it’s food, activities, or something else, accepting different preferences makes life more enjoyable for everyone.
46. What are preferences according to the passage?
A. Things we dislike. B. Things we like or enjoy.
C. Things we have to do. D. Things we are good at.
47. What does the passage say about people’s preferences?
A. Preferences are always the same. B. Preferences are meaningless.
C. Preferences are not personal. D. Preferences can be different.
48. What should we do if someone likes sweet food but others don’t?
A. Let everyone eat sweet food together. B. Accept their different tastes.
C. Argue with them loudly. D. Refuse to eat sweet food.
49. According to the passage, why is it fine to do activities on your own?
A. Because everyone could have their own interests.
B. Because doing things alone is always better.
C. Because people will never agree on activities.
D. Because group activities are usually not fun.
50. What can we learn from the passage?
A. People should always try new things.
B. People should only do something they like.
C. Respecting preferences helps us enjoy life more.
D. Preferences are not important in our life.

Going to a party? Then you should know some party rules
First, being on time is really important. When you arrive on time, it shows your respect to the inviter who has prepared a lot to get ready. If you can’t do it, make sure you call or text the host to let him know.
Then, when you get to the party, smile and shake hands nicely with new people. Look them into the eyes and say your name clearly. Talk to them in a kind way. You could ask how they met the host or what they expected from the party. Listen well when they answer. Don’t talk too much and let others share their stories. If someone talks about a hobby, ask how they started it. This makes the chat friendly and nice.
Also, don’t use your phone all the time. Always checking your phone will give others a feeling that you’re not interested in the people at the party. It’s better to keep it aside and chat with those around you. Only use it when it’s really necessary, like answering an important call. This way, you can fully enjoy the party and build better relationships with others.
Don’t forget to say thank you to the host before you leave. If you can, help clean up a bit. And it’s nice to send a thank-you message the next day.
If you follow these simple party rules, you will have a great time and people will like you at the party.
51. When should you be at a party?
A. Late. B. On time. C. Early. D. At any time.
52. What is important when others are talking to you at a party?
A. Cut in on them to share your story. B. Talk louder than them to make your point.
C. Listen carefully to what they say. D. Look for someone else to talk to.
53. Why shouldn’t you use your phone all the time at a party?
A. It may run out of your phone’s power. B. It is bad for your eyes.
C It shows you don’t care about others. D. It can make some noise.
54. What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To give advice on how to plan a party. B. To teach how to do well at a party.
C. To show different kinds of parties. D. To tell the importance of party rules.
55. How does the writer organize the passage?

A. Because everyone could have their own interests.
B. Because doing things alone is always better.
C. Because people will never agree on activities.
D. Because group activities are usually not fun.
50. What can we learn from the passage?
A. People should always try new things.

根据上文“your eyes tell your brain the car isn’t moving.”和下文“This may make you feel uncomfortable.”
根据上文“When the driver starts the car, it goes faster. When the driver stops, the car slows down at once.”和下文“This can make some people feel sick.”
根据下文“They show so many things that people in cars find it difficult to look outside.” 故选A。
根据上文“Sadly, self-driving cars may be another problem.”
根据下文“For example, Honda, a Japanese company, is trying to make cars move without sudden stops and starts.”
