Through this lesson, students will be able to: 

1. Develop language competence: Master career - related vocabulary and use future tenses (will / be going to) to discuss dream jobs. 

2. Enhance cognitive ability: Deeply analyze the structure of Zhao Yang’s model essay, clarify the “topic - main idea - details” logic, and flexibly transfer this structure to personal writing. 

3. Improve learning ability: Independently complete a well - structured and accurately expressed essay “My Dream Job” using mind maps and the model essay framework to effectively boost written expression skills. 

4. Cultivate social - emotional competence: Stimulate thinking about future careers and develop a positive attitude toward pursuing and sticking to dreams. 

 Key and Difficult Points 

Independently complete a clearly structured and accurately expressed “My Dream Job” essay based on mind maps and the model essay framework to effectively improve written expression skills.

 1. Complete sentences based on the questions in Activity 1.

 2. Talk about your dream job with your partner. 

Design Intent

Activates students’ prior knowledge about dream jobs, practices simple sentence expression, and creates an interactive classroom atmosphere to prepare for subsequent reading and writing tasks.    

 Step 2: Reading

 1. Read for content: Read the model essay and complete the “topic - and - main - idea” chart in Activity 2. Then check answers.

 2. Read for structure: Read and answer:

 • How many paragraphs are in the passage?

 • What’s the main idea of each paragraph?

 3. Read for language features: Find key expressions and sentence patterns using questions like:

 • What is Zhao’s dream job?
