They always tell me that I should do this and should not do that. It sometimes makes me angry,” said Zhang Hua, a middle school student in Guangzhou. Do you have the same problem? Perhaps your parents had the same problem when they were young. Why aren’t some parents so friendly in their children’s eyes? One of the most important reasons is when someone becomes a parent, he/ she often worries about things. Since you were born (出生), your parents have worried about everything about you. They do a lot for you. Though something would make you angry, they care about you and worry about you. They worry about your choice (选择) of friends, the food you eat, your study at school, how much sleep you get and so on. All these things are part of your life, because they want you to grow up healthily and happily. So how can you make things easier on yourself? It’s easier than you think. Just make sure your parents know what you’re doing. Get them to know your friends. Phone them if you get home later than usual. Say sorry to them when you make mistakes. Talk about your ideas with them and they may talk about theirs with you. Most of all, try to think why your parents do this or do that. They are still practicing being parents and need help that you can give them. When you become a parent, they may be able to help you learn how to get on with your children. 1.Where is Zhang Hua from? 2.Why do parents always worry about what their children do? 3.What should children do when they make mistakes according to the writer? 4.How can you make things easier on yourself? 5.What can you learn from the passage? 阅读短文,根据短文内容,完成下列各题。 A report called on parents to be more responsible (有责任心的) when sharing pictures of their children on WeChat Moments. It was handed to the 8th Young Pioneers Congress (少年先锋队代表大会) held in Shanghai. The report, by a middle school student Zhang Chuyi, pointed out 80% or so of the parents shared their children’s pictures on WeChat Moments. Among these children, six out of ten said their parents never asked them first before they put the pictures on the Internet. What these parents share on WeChat Moments usually has something to do with their children’s life, from their talents and travel stories to their grades and other achievements. For lots of parents, it’s fun to record their children’s growth online. “Whenever I look through my boy’s pictures on WeChat Moments, thousands of memories come into my mind,” a mother said. For other parents, it can bring them a strong feeling of satisfaction when other people praise (表扬) their kids or give “likes”. “I feel like my son is helping me realize my unrealized dream when I read the praise from the people around,” a father of a 13-year-old boy said. However, kids may not like this. Some even think sharing pictures online brings trouble to them. Among them is Ai Yizhong, a 14-year-old girl. She explained to the reporter, “I don’t think it’s harmless (无害的) fun_______.” 1.Was the report written by a young parent? 2.What do parents share about their children on WeChat Moments? 3.According to the passage, why do parents like to share their children’s pictures? 4.What might Ai Yizhong say? Please help her to finish her words. (about 30 words) You may not realize it, but you are doing much more than just studying when you are at school. School is also the place where you learn to get along well with people. But this is not always easy. What can you do if you just don’t like one of your classmates? If you discover that you have problems getting along with your classmates or friends, the most important thing to learn is tolerance. Tolerance is the ability to realize and respect the differences in others. We cannot change the way that other people do, so it is important to learn to live happily with them. Tolerance will make everyone get on better with each other. Knowing others constantly makes us understand others’ differences. Something different does not exactly mean that it is bad. Tolerance teaches us to keep an even temper and an open mind. You need to remember an old saying, “Treat others how you want to be treated.” You would like to be treated kindly by your classmates. If you tolerate something, it does not mean that you have to like it. No one is asking you to change who you are or what you believe in. Tolerance just means that you should respect the differences in others and not try to make them change. It is important to practice tolerance because it will make everyone’s life easier. Learn to accept people for their different abilities and interests. The world is very different, and practicing tolerance in your own school and city can help make a difference. 1.What is the most important thing to learn to get along with your classmates? 2.What is tolerance? 3.Why is tolerance important? 阅读短文,然后根据内容回答问题。 Has a person ever warmly held a door open for you? How do you feel after playing with friends? And what would you say is your favourite family memory? These questions have one thing in common: they’re all about connecting with people. “Let’s Connect” is the theme of this year’s Children’s Mental (心理的) Health week. It improves mental health by building healthy social (社会的) connections. Humans naturally connect with others, whether that’s family, friends or people in our community. Healthy connections give people energy and support—we all need people to celebrate and share our worries with. Social connections aren’t just about mental health; they improve physical health too, helping us to live a long life. Then how to connect with others? “You can reach out and connect with people in so many different ways,” says Julia Clements, the organizer behind Children’s Mental Health Week. You can connect in person or online, with your friends, parents, teachers or classmates. It’s not just people, either. “Some people feel connected with their pets or in nature,” says Clements. She agrees talking to others can be helpful to a lonely person. She advises making time to build more connections through actions as well as words. Everybody may feel lonely sometimes and refuse to talk to others. “Remember that there are always people that care for you,” advises Clements. She says it’s important to tell someone you trust about how you are feeling, or safe organizations such as Helpline or Shout. They can really help. 1.What do the three questions in the beginning have in common? 2.What does the underlined word “they” refer to (指的是) in Paragraph 2? 3.According to Clements, what can be helpful to a lonely person? 4.Being a teenager, what can you learn from the passage? Write 30 words or more. 请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容回答问题,并将答案写在答题卡相应的位置上。 In the past, connecting (与……有联系) with friends meant spending time with them in person (亲自). But now it is different. With the development of the technology (科技), people’s life has changed greatly. Today, most young people like to connect with their friends online better. They think it is a good way to connect with their friends. However, some people think connecting with friends online may make them lose their real-world friendships (友谊). Do you agree with it? Here are some ideas. Know MoreIn the past, people connected with friends in simple ways. They often met friends face-to-face. They would go to their friends’ homes to play or chat. Sometimes, they would meet at places like parks or small shops. They could talk and have a good time together. AgreeTechnology hurts friendships. When we communicate with our friends in front of a screen, it’s easier to misread (误解) their tones (语调) or body language. We might think our friends are smiling while they’re upset. A friend might send a text message as a joke that says, “You’re the worst friend!” But our feelings might be hurt because we think he’s serious. DisagreeI’m Frank. I don’t think technology hurts friendships. In fact, it can make them stronger. For example, my best friends live in California where I used to live. The last time I met them in person was three years ago. But I talk to them online every week. It feels like they’re right here with me. Without technology, we can’t be so close friends. According to experts, staying connected online is not enough to build true friendships. Spending time together face-to-face is quite important, especially when people are in trouble. During the hard times, people don’t need someone who likes their pictures or posts. What they really need is someone who can offer them help. 1.What did connecting with friends mean in the past? 2.Why do some people think technology hurts friendships? 3.Where do Frank’s best friends live? 4.What do experts think is important to build true friendships? 5.What do you think people need when they’re in trouble? And how do you help your friend in trouble? 进阶拓展训练5篇 请阅读下面语篇,根据其内容回答问题。 It’s very common to have different opinions with our friends. When we have different thoughts with our friends, the most important thing is to share ourselves with them. But we should be careful about how we express (表达) our opinions. Here are some tips. First, listen carefully to other people. You should listen to others explain their opinions first. This will help keep the conversation calm. And you will also better understand their side in the conversation. Next, ▲ . Remember, you should express your opinions and you don’t mean to argue with your friends, so it’s necessary to be polite (有礼貌的). Winning or losing is not the point. Don’t try to make your friends think like you. Last but most importantly, show your friends that you value your friendship, even if you disagree about some things. This can stop both of you from becoming too emotional (情绪化的). In the future, you may have different opinions with many people. In fact, this can be a good thing. You can even learn from it. For example, sometimes you may not realize that your ideas are wrong. But by sharing them with others, you can learn something new, according to Li Songwei, a psychologist from Beijing. How to Show Different ViewsWhen you have different opinions from others, do you know how to express them politely? Here is some advice you can start with. ●I respect your point. But I’m not sure if I agree with you. What do you think about…instead? ●I understand your opinion. But can I give my own opinion? It may not be completely right. How about discussing it together? 1.What is the most important thing when we have different thoughts with friends? 2.Why should we listen to others first? (One example is OK.) 3.What’s the best subtitle (小标题) for Paragraph 3? 4.How can we stop our friends and us from becoming too emotional? 5.What do you think of the advice in the chart? Why(at least ten words)? Do you know how to talk to others politely in English? I will show you some polite and impolite ways. I hope they can help you to be a polite person. ☆ “Could you give me five minutes?” vs “Go away.” You’re really busy, but your classmate needs your help. When you’re busy and can’t help him or her, you can’t say “Go away.” Instead, you should say “Could you give me five minutes?” ☆ “Excuse me.” vs “Move out of the way.” Telling someone to “move out of the way” is very impolite. When someone is in your way, you should say, “Excuse me.” ☆ “I’m afraid I can’t.” vs “No.” It can often be difficult to decline an invitation from a friend. Saying “No” would be impolite. If you have to say no to an invitation, you’d better say “I’m afraid I can’t.” ☆ “Would you mind...?” vs “Stop it!” If someone is doing something rude (无礼的), would you like him or her to stop? You shouldn’t say “Stop talking on the phone in the cinema!” You can say “Would you mind not talking on the phone in the cinema, please?” 1.How many polite ways does the writer show us? 2.When you are busy and can’t help your classmate, what should you say? 3.What does the underlined word “decline” mean? 4.If you don’t want someone to smoke here, what can you say politely? 5.What does the passage mainly tell us? 根据短文内容, 按要求回答问题。 People say teamwork is great, but I think it can sometimes make things harder. I used to work in an office, but now I work alone at home. It made me wonder: Why does teamwork cause problems instead of solving them? Some people just want things their way. In a team, there’s often someone who talks the loudest or acts selfishly (自私地). Others might agree with them even if their ideas aren’t good. Teamwork feels like solving a puzzle (谜) with missing pieces when different personalities mix. It’s impossible to work well in those cases. Time is another problem. Once, I was on a team that never met enough. We were all busy and had no time to talk about good plans. Teams need hours together to share ideas and listen—like a football team that practices every day. If players don’t train, they can’t win games. Many teams also don’t learn how to work together. Trust doesn’t magically appear. You can’t throw strangers into a room and say, “Be a team!” You need to learn to respect each other and solve problems step by step. But most teams never get this training. Working alone isn’t perfect, though. When my computer breaks, I miss having helpers nearby. When I think of a cool idea, there’s no one to ask, “Is this good?” Making all the decisions myself is fun, but it’s lonely too. Still, I like my quiet “me team” better now. I decide everything, and there’s no arguing—quite independent! But I finally understand why my old teams failed. Good teamwork needs patience, time, and people who care about each other. Maybe one day, if I learn to fix those problems, my “me team” could grow into a real “we team.” After all, even the best players need a team to win. 1.Why did the writer leave teamwork for working alone? (No more than 8 words) 2.Why does the writer compare selfish team members to “a puzzle with missing pieces”? (No more than 8 words) 3.What does the football team example show about teamwork? (No more than 6 words) 4.What happens when teams don’t solve the problems step-by-step? (No more than 3 words) 5.Why does the writer call his team a “me team” but still want a “we team”? (With a sentence) In America, people often invite friends for a meal, a party or just coffee. People often say things like these, “Would you like to come over for dinner?” “We’re having a party on Friday, can you come?” To answer an invitation, they say “Thank you” and accept, or say “Sorry” and give a reason. Sometimes, what people say is like invitations but are not real invitations. For example, “Please come over for a drink sometime.” “Let’s get together for lunch soon.” They are not real invitations because they don’t talk about the date or time. They just show that the person is trying to be friendly. People usually answer “Sure, that would be great.” or “OK, thank you.” So next time you hear what is like an invitation, listen carefully. Is it a real invitation or is the person just being friendly? 根据语篇内容,回答问题。(每小题答案不超过5个词) 1.In what country, do people often invite friends for a meal, a party or just coffee? 2.If someone says to you “We’re having a party on Friday, can you come?”, how do you answer? 3.Is it a real invitation if people say “Let’s get together for lunch soon”? 4.Is the invitation “Please come over for a drink sometime” a real invitation or or just to be friendly? 5.What’s the passage mainly about? Do you know about those great friends Harry, Hermione and Ron in the Harry Potter books? J. K. Rowling’s stories are world-famous, and part of their success is because of the friendship between those three main characters. But there are many examples of great friends in literature (文学). Let’s look at some more in the book sharing activity today. In 1844, French writer Alexandre Dumas wrote The Three Musketeers (《三剑客》). The story is about a young man. He goes to Paris to join the musketeers. He meets the other three greatest musketeers in France. They become friends and have many adventures (冒险) together. They often say “one for all and all for one”, and this shows their strong friendship. The Lord of the Rings (1954-1955) by J. R. R. Tolkien is a fantastic storybook about Frodo, who gets a ring from his uncle. Frodo lives in the Shire and has a friend, Sam. When Frodo leaves the Shire on a long journey with the ring, Sam goes with him. Sam’s friendship is very important to Frodo. When he faces danger, Sam is always there to help him. Another book is My Brilliant Friend (2011) by Elena Ferrante. Elena and Lila are friends at school, but they have a lot of arguments (争吵). As they get older, something happens and brings them together again. 1.Who is the writer of Harry Potter? 2.What does “one for all and all for one” show in The Three Musketeers? 3.Why is Sam’s friendship very important to Frodo? 4.Is My Brilliant Friend the newest book in today’s book-sharing activity? 5.Which of these books would you like to read most? Why? 能力综合实践5篇 阅读并回答问题。 Narrow lanes (小巷) are very common in China. They are usually about two metres wide, or six chi in traditional Chinese units. Most of them are nothing special. She could have some fruitcake, some jam, and some of the raspberry cordial in the cupboard. Anne ran down the road to Diana’s house to ask her to tea. Diana came in her second-best dress. She poured herself a glass of cordial and drank it. “That’s very nice raspberry cordial, Anne,” she said. “I’m happy you like it. Take as much as you want.” And so Diana had two more glasses of cordial. Suddenly, she turned pale. “I’m sick,” she said, “I must go home.” And she left Green Gables and ran all the way home. On Monday, Anne went to see if Diana was feeling better. She soon ran back home with tears rolling down her cheeks. “What has happened, Anne?” asked Marilla, “Mrs. Barry says that I sent Diana home drunk on Saturday. She says she’s never, ever going to let Diana play with me again!” Marilla went to the cupboard and then came back to the kitchen with a bottle of wine, trying not to smile. “Anne, you gave Diana wine instead of raspberry cordial. Didn’t you know the difference?” “I never tasted it,” said Anne. “But Mrs. Barry will never believe me. And now I’ll never be able to play with Diana again!” One evening, Anne was at home doing her homework. Matthew was home, too. Suddenly, Anne looked up and saw Diana standing at the door. She looked very worried. “What is the matter, Diana?” cried Anne. “Oh, Anne, do come quick,” said Diana nervously. “Minnie May is very sick. Father and Mother are away in town and there’s nobody to go for the doctor.” Matthew quietly got his cap and coat and went for the doctor. The two little girls ran to Diana’s house hand in hand. Minnie May was Diana’s three-year-old sister. She was very sick. Anne saw her and immediately went to work. She had looked after many children before and knew what to do. “First we must have lots of hot water. Put the fire on. I’m going to give her some medicine.” Minnie May did not like the medicine, but Anne did not give up. All night, Diana and Anne stayed with Minnie May. It was three o’clock when Matthew came with the doctor. But by then, Minnie May was sleeping. Anne explained to the doctor what she had done. He was very impressed. You probably see at least one of them every day and, over your lifetime, they may influence (影响) you more than anyone else you will meet. Moms and Dads need to care for their kids from the minute they’re born. It’s a parent’s job to love and help kids—and most parents will do this as possible as they can, even when the “kids” grow up and have children of their own. That means you have many years ahead to share with your mom and dad. Here are some ways you can stay close, get along and build a strong relationship (关系): Spend time together. Don’t play a computer game or watch TV by yourself. Ask your mom and dad to play with you, go outside together, play a game, or read a book out loudly. Try to spend more time together. Share your feelings and ask for help. Many kids say they’d like their parents to help them when they’re unhappy. Tell them if you’re sad or have a problem. They’ll be happy to help you. Be kind and caring. Little things might mean a lot to your mom or dad. You can brighten (使明亮, 高兴) a parent’s day with a hug, a card, or a joke. It’s also lovely when a kid cleans up his or her room without being asked. It’s important to show that you care for each other. Kids and parents show their love by respecting (尊重) each other, and being caring, polite (礼貌的) and thoughtful (周到的). Do your best at whatever you do. You don’t have to be perfect (完美的), but when you do your best you make your parents proud (自豪的). It makes them happy to see how you’re turning into a great kid. Why? Because it lets them know you’re doing a good job. 1.Do kids’ parents influence them more than anyone else? 2.What can kids do if they are sad or have a problem? 3.How do kids and parents show their love? 4.How do kids’ parents feel when kids do their best? 5.How do you get along with (相处) your parents? 阅读短文,根据题目要求完成各小题。 Learn to share Sandy is a nine-year-old boy. 【答案】1.Spending time with friends in person. 2.Because it’s easier to misread tones or body language online. 3.In California. 4.Spending time together face-to-face and offering help. 5.People need someone to offer real help. (With a sentence) 【答案】1.Because teamwork caused problems. 2.Different personalities mix poorly. 3.Teams need time together. 4.They fail. 5.He enjoys independence but recognizes teamwork’s value. 1.根据文章“People say teamwork is great, but I think it can sometimes make things harder.” 故填Because teamwork caused problems. 2.根据文章“Teamwork feels like solving a puzzle with missing pieces when different personalities mix.”(当不同性格的人混在一起时,团队合作就像拼图缺了碎片)可知,作者将自私成员比作“缺失的拼图”,是因为性格差异导致合作困难。故填Different personalities mix poorly. 3.根据文章“Teams need hours together to share ideas and listen—like a football team that practices every day.”(团队需要时间共同分享想法和倾听,就像足球队每天训练一样)可知,足球队的例子说明团队需要投入时间磨合。故填Teams need time together. 4.根据文章“But most teams never get this training.”(但大多数团队从未接受过这种训练)及前文对团队失败原因的描述(如缺乏逐步解决问题),可推知,未逐步解决问题的团队会失败。故填They fail. 5.根据文章“I like my quiet ‘me team’... but I finally understand why my old teams failed. In America, people often invite friends for a meal, a party or just coffee. They are usually about two metres wide, or six chi in traditional Chinese units. Most of them are nothing special. But Liu Chi Xiang (Six-chi Lane) in Tongcheng, Anhui, may be the most famous one. Its story started back in the Qing Dynasty. Two local families, the Zhangs and the Wus, argued (争论) about the narrow lane between their houses. They couldn’t reach an agreement. The Zhang family were angry. Their relative, Zhang Ying, was a Daxueshi who held great power in the government. They wrote him a letter to ask for advice. When his reply came, they opened it to find a poem inside. A letter from far away just for a wall. Is not right or good at all. Three chi to your neighbour as a gift Is nothing as time continues to drift. After reading it, the Zhang family felt ashamed. They stepped back three chi for their neighbour. 【答案】1.Yes, they do. 2.They can tell their parents and ask for help. 3.By respecting each other, and being caring, polite and thoughtful. 4.They feel proud of you. 5.I get along well with my parents because we often communicate. 【导语】本文主要介绍了一些怎样与父母相处融洽的方法。 1.根据“You probably see at least one of them every day and, over your lifetime, they may influence (影响) you more than anyone else you will meet.”可知,孩子的父母对他们的影响比任何人都大。因此答案是肯定的。故填Yes, they do. 2.根据“Share your feelings and ask for help.
