My name is Jason. Both of my parents are teachers. My father is a maths teacher and my mother is a geography teacher. Geography is one of my favourite subjects.

Learning geography helps me to know the location of every country. In geography classes, I know China is in Asia (亚洲). Third, it’s wonderful to learn about cultures (文化), history, and the weather of different countries. By studying geography, I can think better about people’s lives around the world. Dear Tracy,
How is everything going? I miss you so much. What did you do in your summer vacation? I’m pretty sure that you had a great time.
It’s been four weeks since I returned to school in Las Vegas. I’m still thinking of the unforgettable and exciting city life with you in Nanjing every day. The life here is very different. I tasted all kinds of foods in Las Vegas, but I still miss the delicious beef soup there deeply.

The good news is I got a three-day holiday at home without homework. And the bad news is I will have tests on math and physics next week. I must get fully prepared for the tests this time so that I can get good grades.
Last Sunday, I went to the shopping mall to buy a purple hat for you. I remember you like purple and I’m sure you will like its style. You will receive it in two or three days. By the way, it has a much lower price here than in Nanjing.

Have you ever had any conflicts (冲突) with your best friend? In fact, even the closest friends can cause conflicts without understanding or enough communication.
Emma and Lily were best friends since junior high school. They shared secrets, hobbies, and laughter. However, things changed when Emma joined a science club. She spent less time with Lily who felt uncomfortable to be ignored (忽视). One day, Lily posted a sad message online, “Some people forget old friends when they find new ones.” Emma saw it and thought Lily was laughing at her. They stopped talking, and their friendship seemed ruined.
After a week of silence, Emma felt hurt and turned to Mrs. Li who was her teacher for help. Mrs. Li told her that friendship conflicts often start with misunderstanding. Here are some tips from Mrs Li:
1. Speak calmly: Use “I feel” sentences instead of blaming (责备).
2. Listen patiently: Understand the other’s feelings.
3. Compromise (妥协): Find the ways that work for both to solve problems.
Emma decided to talk to Lily. She said, “I miss you. I didn’t mean to make you feel ignored.” Lily said sorry too, “I shouldn’t post the sad message online. I was just sad.” They knew their mistakes.
Every friendship has conflicts, but real friends work through them. As the saying goes, “A true friend is someone who walks in when the rest of the world walks out.” When we talk honestly (坦诚地), we can turn conflicts into chances to make our friendship even stronger.

A reader wrote to say that she was feeling lonely at break (休息) because her best friend wasn’t around. Here’s our advice to her — and to all the kids who feel lonely sometimes.
It’s hard when our best friend isn’t around — maybe because she moved to a different class or a different school. You may feel lonely at break or lunchtime. You want to have new friends. But how do you make it? Maybe it seems like everybody else already has their friends. But remember, there’s always room for more friends.
You can start by looking around your classroom — think about which kids you’d like to play with at break. Look for chances to say hello to them, smile, and be friendly. Offer to share something or express your appreciation (欣赏) to them. Invite someone to play with you or say “Do you want to sit here?” in the lunchroom. When you’re at break, walk over to the kids you want to play with.
If you have trouble doing this or if you feel shy, ask your teacher to help you make new friends. Teachers are usually pretty good at matching up friends. The best way to make friends is to be a friend. Be kind, be friendly, share, say nice things, and offer to help — and soon you’ll have one, or two, or even more new friends.
You might still miss that special best friend. But when you see each other, you can share something you didn’t have before: You can introduce him or her to your new friends!

B.It is easy for kids to make new friends.
C.If you are a friend, you can make friends.

4.What can we learn from the last paragraph?

Mom and Dad are two of the most important people in your life. You probably see at least one of them every day. And, they probably influence you more than anyone else you will meet in your lifetime. So if your mom loves to read, you just might grow up carrying a book wherever you go, just like she does.
But parents do a lot more than just passing on their hobbies. Moms and dads care for their kids from the minute they are born. They are the people we should respect and love best. It’s very important to stay close, get along, and build a strong relationship with your parents. But not every child knows how to do this. Here are some ways to help you.
Spend time together. Instead of playing a computer game or watching TV, ask your mom and dad to play with you. Go outside together, or read a book aloud.
Be kind. Little things might mean a lot to your mom or dad. You can brighten a parent’s day with a hug, a card, or a joke. It’s also lovely when a kid cleans up his or her room without being asked. And if you try not to fight with your brothers or sisters, your parents might be very happy.
Do your best at whatever you do. You don’t have to be perfect, but when you try your best, you will make your parents proud. It makes them happy to see how you’re turning into a great kid. Why? Because they know you’re on the way of doing a good job.
Choose the best choice from A, B or C according to the passage.

Dear Tracy,
How is everything going?
