(2)so that还可引导结果状语从句。引导结果状语从句的从属连词还有:so...that...,such...that...等。

动词ing形式和过去分词作表语
一、 动词ing形式作表语
1.动词ing形式作表语,有形容词的性质,说明主语的性质、特征等,这时通常可以看作是形容词,不可与主语的位置调换。
The argument is very convincing.

The story she told us was very interesting.
她给我们讲的故事很有趣。
2.动词ing作表语可表示抽象性或习惯性的动作,一般说明主语的内容,此时表语和主语常可互换位置。
My hobby is collecting stamps.

Landing on the moon's far side is extremely challenging.
