up with a series of innovative apps to solve social problems and help enrich lives.
Li Xiang,a student at Zhejiang University, developed a mobile app with two schoolmates that can help users
develop good habits by building and feeding virtual electronic pets.
A special digital pet is produced in the app Weier, which sounds similar to the English word"well".A user's
daily behavior is used to help it grow.

Museums have been around for centuries, with the first known museum founded in the 3rd century BC.For
a long time, they were used to showcase traditional artworks like paintings, sculptures and drawings. In recent
times, however, digital art has started to gain popularity as an art form. This has raised the question of whether or
not museums should accept digital art into their collections.
Digital art can be defined as an artwork created using digital technology and tools like computers, tablets and
smartphones. It includes a variety of mediums such as animation,3D modelling, virtual reality and video game
design.Digital art is increasingly being used by artists to create unique pieces that are unlike anything else seen
before.
The debate over whether museums should accept digital art into their collections has been ongoing for some
time.On one hand, many believe that digital art is not "real"art and does not deserve to be given the same
recognition as traditional artworks. On the other hand, supporters of digital art hold the view that museums should
endorse this new form of expression and give it the same respect as any other type of artworks.
The truth is that many museums have already begun to accept digital art into their collections. In fact, some
museums have even devoted entire exhibitions to showcasing digital artworks from around the world. This shows
that there is a growing appreciation of this type of expression and that it is slowly becoming more accepted by
mainstream audiences.
In general, while there may still be some debate over whether or not digital art deserves to be accepted into
museum collections,it is clear that many museums are beginning to welcome this new form of expression. As more
people realize the digital art and its potential as an artistic medium,it will likely become even more popular in
years to come.

In school,I'd often draw cartoons about what I was learning instead of taking notes. And obviously,I had the
right idea all along.A new study found drawing is a good memory technique.
A group of scientists had participants try and memorize the definition of a set of words. They had some
participants copy the words and their definitions. They had other participants draw out the meaning of the words.
The drawers memorized more words.
"We reasoned that drawing improves memory,at least in part, because it requires elaboration (on the
meaning of the term and translating the definition into a picture,"wrote the researchers. What's more, the scientists
found older people were worse than younger people at memorizing when the two wrote out their definitions. But
the two groups showed no difference when it came to memorizing from drawing.
I've learned many mnemonics in my day.I've pictured strange images that relate to the words I'm
memorizing, put facts to music and associated words with pieces of furniture. But I've never heard of this"drawing
effect,"as the researchers put it,though I've used it without realizing it.
It makes sense though.Images must be built much deeper into our brains than letters.Image processing took
place before writing.Mostly,I'm surprised that many educators haven't realized that fun learning is better learning.
Pictures and songs stick in the brain better than pages of text.
Humans like to separate ourselves from other animals, often focusing on our ability to use language.
Language is great, but we're just animals after all.We might be able to use language, but images stick in our brains
in a totally different, possibly deeper way.
In any case, next time I draw a cartoon of something I'm trying to learn,I'll feel no shame.
66.What can we know about the benefits of drawing according to the study?
A.They would decrease little by little.B.They were obviously shown on animals.
C.They were obvious only on teenagers.D.They were more noticeable for older people.
67.What does the underlined word"mnemonics"in paragraph 4 mean?
A.Changes in memory.
B.Memory techniques.
C.Memory improvements.
D.Benefits of memory.
68.What does the author think of learning by drawing?
A.It is fun as well as effective.B.It is the best learning method.
C.It should be mixed with singing.D.It is good for our language ability.
69.What is the purpose of the text?
A.To solve a difficult problem.B.To share opinions on drawing.
C.To introduce a learning method.D.To introduce benefits of drawing.

When a fire alarm goes off,you know it.The sound makes you realize the accident. What if you were deaf?
How would you know if an alarm went off,or if someone knocked on your door?If you took a walk across a busy
试卷第3
street, you wouldn't hear the sound of a car coming at you.A signal dog could help you with all of these things!
They help people who are deaf by acting as their owners'"ears".They know what to do when they
hear certain sounds. These dogs can learn up to eight sounds, including sounds from doorbells, and crying babies.
Babies cry at night for many reasons. They might be hungry, lonely,or wet. When they cry,the sound is
pitiful!Even very sleepy parents will wake up quickly to help. But what if a mom and dad can't hear? That's when
a signal dog can help. The dog can quickly wake his owner up.He might push him with his nose,or pull at his
night clothes. When his owner wakes up,the dog runs to the baby. The dog may sit down near the baby's bed.If his
owner doesn't follow, the dog does it again. The dog will run back and forth until his owner takes action.A signal
dog does different things for each sound it knows.
People can train many sizes and kinds of hearing ear dogs. They look different and may not all move with
beauty, but all signal dogs are smart!Large dogs are better in public places because they won't get stepped on.
Small dogs, however, can jump on your lap.Why is that important?Because signal dogs are more than just"ears".
They are also friends.
70.Choose the best sentence to fill in the blank"
”in Paragraph2.
A.Signal dogs are also called hearing ear dogs.
B.Signal dogs are popular with children.
C.Signal dogs are very lovely.
D.Some deaf people don't have enough money to buy signal dogs.
71.What does the underlined word "pitiful"mean in Paragraph 3?
A.Healthy.B.Strange.
C.Poor.
D.Relaxing.
72.What can we get from the passage?
A.A signal dog could help us with only some of things.
B.Deaf people know what to do when they hear certain sounds.
C.All signal dogs are smart so that they can help people.
D.Sleepy parents won't wake up quickly to help their crying babies.

With gas prices rising and airport security lines snaking longer than ever, why not book your next domestic
vacation on a train?Compared to other alternatives,it's comfortable and relaxing. Here is some advice on how to
make a trip by rail as pleasant as possible.
Plan ahead. Most long-distance trains, especially the sleeping car accommodations, sell out very quickly.
73 But no matter when you travel,it's a good idea to make your reservations at least 90 days in advance.
Use a travel agent.Consider turning your travel plan over to a travel agent and letting him double-check all
the details, make suggestions, and then handle the actual reservations.A good one can sometimes find you
discounted tickets.74 Then you won't have to walk through several cars on a moving train three times a
day for your meals.
Bring a blanket.When you're riding on trains,you won't be provided with a blanket for free,even if your
trip is an overnight one.75 In the summer in particular, the air conditioning can make them quite cold.
Arrive early. Most trains operate just once a day and some run only three times a week,so missing yours can
be a disaster.76 Note:The times listed on the schedules are departure times, not arrival times.
Have fun.77 Read a book, knit,do a crossword puzzle,or simply watch the world unfold outside
the window. To calculate your speed as you do,divide 3,600(the number of seconds in an hour)by the number of
seconds it takes you to travel one mile(the distance between two mileposts). If it takes the train 53 seconds to travel
one mile,you're going 67.92 mph.
A.Train trips aren't for impatient types.
B.You'll have views from both sides of the train.
C.The temperature on rail cars is often hard to control.
D.That's particularly true during busy summer months.
E.You might have to wait longer than 24 hours to catch the next one.
F.Chances are that the cost will be a lot less than the cost of one bedroom.

G.He may also book you in a sleeping car that's right next to the diner.

I Find Myself Really Good
Our school did a survey among 1,127 students on the topic of "I
Find Myself Really Good",Here are the results. The survey covers
several items.86%of the students think they are "Bringing the
world with kind eyes",which is the highest percentage.47%of
them believe they have "Maintaining a positive attitude",while
the percentage of students who think they have other good
qualities is not shown in the chart.
For me,"Bringing the world with kind eyes"has a great positive
impact on my life.Last term,a new classmate transferred to our
class. She was very shy and hardly talked to anyone.Instead of
ignoring her like some classmates did,I smiled at her every time
we met and offered to help her with her homework when she was
confused.Gradually, she started to open up and even became my
good friend. This experience made me realize that kindness can
break down barriers and bring people closer. It also makes me more
willing to help others in daily life, making my life more
meaningful and joyful.
