教学反思
Positive Aspects
The warming - up and lead - in activities effectively aroused students' interest in the topic of festivals, which made it easier for them to get involved in the following learning process. The group activity and role - play provided students with many opportunities to practice speaking English, and most students were actively involved in these activities, which improved their oral English skills.
Using pictures, recordings and real - life examples in the teaching process helped students better understand new words and the text, especially for some abstract words like “research”. The exercises on the blackboard and the homework can help students consolidate the knowledge they learned in class.
Areas for Improvement
Some students still had difficulties in using some words with multiple meanings correctly, such as “double”. In future teaching, more exercises and examples should be provided to help them master these words. During the group discussion, a few students were a little shy and did not actively participate. In the future, more encouragement and guidance should be given to these students to make sure everyone can fully participate in class activities.
The time for each part of the teaching procedures needs to be more accurately controlled. For example, the group activity took a little longer than expected, which made the summary part a bit rushed. In future lessons, more attention should be paid to time management.
