Ask students to name the festivals they see in Chinese. Purpose: Arouse students' interest in the topic of festivals and quickly bring them into the learning atmosphere. 2. Lead - in (5 minutes) Activity: After the warming - up, continue to show pictures of some Chinese festivals. Then ask students, “Do you know the English names of these Chinese festivals ” Let students discuss in pairs for about 1 minute, and then invite some pairs to share their answers. Purpose: Guide students to think about the English expressions of Chinese festivals, and lead to the learning content of this lesson. 3. Presentation (15 minutes) New Words Teaching Show the new words one by one on the PPT, along with pictures or examples to help students understand. For example, when teaching “lantern”, show a picture of a beautiful red lantern; when teaching “double”, show a picture of double - decker buses. Read the words aloud, and ask students to repeat several times, paying attention to the pronunciation. Explain the usage and some collocations of the new words. For “research”, write “do research” and “do research on/into sth.” on the blackboard, and give examples like “Scientists are doing research on cancer.” Let students make their own sentences with the new words, and then invite some students to share their sentences. Text Teaching Play the recording of the dialogue between Danny and Li Ming for students to listen. After listening for the first time, ask students some general questions, such as “Who are talking in the dialogue ” “What are they talking about ” Play the recording again. This time, ask students to listen carefully and answer some detailed questions, such as “What project is Danny working on ” “What's Danny's favorite Chinese festival ” “In what month does this conversation take place ” “What is Li Ming's plan for National Day ” Let students read the dialogue in pairs to find the answers. Explain some key sentence patterns and difficult points in the dialogue. For example, explain “quite a few” and “by the way”. Let students imitate the dialogue in pairs, changing some information according to their own situations. 4. Practice (10 minutes) Group Activity Divide students into groups of four. Each group is assigned a Chinese festival. Students in each group need to discuss and collect information about the festival, including the time, traditional activities, and food. Then make a simple presentation in English to introduce the festival to the whole class. Provide some reference materials, such as pictures, short passages about festivals, for students to use if necessary. Walk around the classroom to offer help and guidance during the group discussion. Role - play Invite several groups to come to the front of the classroom to do the role - play of introducing festivals. After each group's presentation, other students can ask questions. The presenting group should try to answer the questions. 5. Consolidation (7 minutes) Exercise on the Blackboard Write some sentences on the blackboard with blanks. The blanks need to be filled with the new words, phrases or correct forms of verbs learned in this lesson. For example: We have a (七 - 天的) holiday during National Day. Danny is (做研究) on Chinese festivals. (顺便说一下), I will go to the park tomorrow. Let students come to the blackboard to fill in the blanks. After they finish, check the answers together and explain the mistakes if there are any. Summary Summarize the key points of this lesson with students, including new words, phrases, sentence patterns and the main content about Chinese festivals and holidays. 6. Homework (3 minutes) Task 1: Ask students to write a short passage about their favorite Chinese festival, including the time, activities, and why they like it. The passage should be at least 80 words. Task 2: Let students collect more information about a foreign festival and be ready to share it in the next class. 教学反思 Positive Aspects The warming - up and lead - in activities effectively aroused students' interest in the topic of festivals, which made it easier for them to get involved in the following learning process. The group activity and role - play provided students with many opportunities to practice speaking English, and most students were actively involved in these activities, which improved their oral English skills. Using pictures, recordings and real - life examples in the teaching process helped students better understand new words and the text, especially for some abstract words like “research”. The exercises on the blackboard and the homework can help students consolidate the knowledge they learned in class. Areas for Improvement Some students still had difficulties in using some words with multiple meanings correctly, such as “double”. In future teaching, more exercises and examples should be provided to help them master these words. During the group discussion, a few students were a little shy and did not actively participate. In the future, more encouragement and guidance should be given to these students to make sure everyone can fully participate in class activities. The time for each part of the teaching procedures needs to be more accurately controlled. For example, the group activity took a little longer than expected, which made the summary part a bit rushed. In future lessons, more attention should be paid to time management. 2 / 37 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
