教学过程
A. Lead - in (5 minutes)
Greet the students as usual.
Show some beautiful class pictures on the PPT and ask students: "Do you like taking photos? Do you have a favorite photo? Why? What is a class picture?" Let students have a free talk in pairs for about 2 minutes. Then invite some pairs to share their ideas with the whole class. This activity can arouse students' interest and lead them to the topic of this lesson - class pictures.
B. New Words Teaching (8 minutes)
Present the new words "perform", "advise", "agree", "glue" one by one on the PPT. For each word, show an example sentence and explain its meaning and usage briefly.
Let students read the words after the teacher several times to correct their pronunciation.
Play a word - guessing game. The teacher describes the meaning of a word in English, and students guess which word it is. For example, for the word "perform", the teacher can say "When you show your talent, like singing or dancing in front of others, you do this action." This can help students better remember the new words.
C. Listening (7 minutes)
Tell students that they will listen to a dialogue between Li Ming and Wang Mei about their photos for the class picture. Before listening, show the following questions on the PPT:
What was Wang Mei wearing in her picture?
What was Wang Mei doing in the picture?
How many pictures did Li Ming prepare for the class picture?
Which picture did Li Ming choose at last?
Play the recording of the dialogue for the first time. Students listen carefully and try to answer the questions in their minds.
Play the recording again. This time, students listen and circle the correct answers on their handouts.
Check the answers with the whole class.
D. Reading (10 minutes)
Let students read the dialogue quickly and silently to get the general idea. Then ask them to answer the question: "What are Li Ming and Wang Mei mainly talking about?"
Ask students to read the dialogue carefully again and underline the key sentences and new words and phrases.
Explain the key language points in the dialogue, such as "look like", "advise sb. to do sth.", "It's up to you.", "I agree with you." Use more examples to help students understand and master them.
Divide students into pairs. Let them practice reading the dialogue, paying attention to the intonation and pronunciation. Then invite some pairs to come to the front of the class and act out the dialogue.
E. Practice (10 minutes)
Group Activity 1: Picture Description
Ask students to take out the photos they brought or draw a simple picture of themselves.
Divide students into groups of four. In each group, students take turns to introduce their pictures using the sentence patterns they learned, such as "I'm... I'm wearing... I'm doing...". Others in the group can ask questions or give comments.
Walk around the classroom to monitor the group activities and offer help if necessary.
Group Activity 2: Giving Advice
Present some situations on the PPT, for example, "Your friend has two T - shirts and doesn't know which one to wear for the party. What do you advise him/her to do?"
Let students work in their groups to discuss and make dialogues. They should use the sentence pattern "I like... You can... I advise you to...".
After a few minutes, invite some groups to perform their dialogues in front of the class.
F. Summary (3 minutes)
Summarize the key words, phrases, and sentence patterns learned in this class with the students. Write them on the blackboard.
Ask students to share what they have learned and what they are still confused about.
G. Homework (2 minutes)
Ask students to write a short passage to describe their favorite picture using at least five sentences.
Ask students to preview the next lesson.
教学反思
After this class, overall, most students showed great interest in the topic and actively participated in various activities. The lead - in part was effective in attracting students' attention and arousing their enthusiasm. The teaching of new words through games made the learning process more interesting, and students seemed to master the new words well. However, during the listening practice, some students still had difficulty in catching the key information quickly. Maybe I should give them more pre - listening guidance next time. In the practice part, although most students could use the learned knowledge to communicate, there were still a few students who were a bit shy and passive. I need to pay more attention to these students and encourage them to participate more actively. In the future teaching, I will adjust my teaching methods according to the students' learning situation to make the class more efficient and interesting.
