Step 1: Warm-up
- Greet the students.
- Show a picture of Helen Keller and ask:

What do you know about her?
-Let students share their answers.
Step 2: Pre-reading
-Teach new words: "deaf", "blind", "spell", "be filled with" using simple definitions and actions.
If you are deaf, you can't hear. If you are blind, you can't see. Spell means to write a word letter by letter.
As Helen grew older, she made a lot of progress and learned to read.
