教学过程
1. Lead - in (5 minutes)
Greet the students and start the class.
Show some pictures of famous teams, such as the Chinese women's volleyball team, a software development team, and a volunteer team for environmental protection. Ask students: "Do you know these teams? What do you think they have in common?" Encourage students to express their initial ideas about teams.
Then, ask: "What comes to your mind when you hear the word 'teamwork'?" Write down students' answers on the blackboard. This activity can arouse students' interest in the topic and activate their prior knowledge.
2. Pre - viewing and listening (10 minutes)
Present the new vocabulary related to teamwork on the PPT. Explain the meanings and usages of each word or phrase through examples and simple explanations. For example, when teaching "cooperate", show a sentence like "Students in the group cooperate to finish the science experiment." and ask students to imitate and make their own sentences.
Divide students into pairs. Give each pair a set of pictures related to team activities, such as a basketball game, a group discussion in class, and a group project in the laboratory. Ask them to describe what is happening in the pictures using the new vocabulary they just learned. Walk around the classroom to monitor and offer help if necessary.
After that, introduce the viewing and listening materials briefly. Tell students that they will watch a video and listen to a dialogue about great teams. Guide them to predict what they might hear or see by asking questions like "What do you think the teams in the video and dialogue are doing? What difficulties might they face?" This can help students get mentally prepared for the following viewing and listening tasks.
3. Viewing and listening (15 minutes)
Play the video about a successful sports team's training and competition process for the first time. Ask students to watch and listen carefully and try to get a general idea of what the video is about. After watching, ask some simple questions, such as "What kind of team is it?" "Did they win the game in the end?"
Play the video again. This time, ask students to pay attention to the details, such as how the team members trained together, how they encouraged each other during the competition, and what roles different members played. Pause the video at some key moments to ask students to answer specific questions or make comments.
Next, play the listening dialogue about a work team's project - handling process. Let students listen for the first time and answer the question: "What is the project about?" Then play it again, and ask students to fill in a form on the handout, which includes information like the tasks of different team members, the problems they encountered, and how they solved the problems. This can train students' ability to catch specific information.
4. Post - viewing and listening (10 minutes)
Divide students into groups of four or five. Let them discuss the following questions based on the viewing and listening materials: "What do you think are the most important factors for a great team?" "Have you ever been in a team? Share your experience, including what you did well and what could be improved." Each group selects a representative to record the main points of the discussion.
After the group discussion, ask each group's representative to report their group's discussion results to the whole class. Encourage other students to ask questions or make comments. During this process, the teacher can guide students to use the vocabulary and key sentences they learned to express their opinions.
Summarize the key points about teamwork together with the students. Write down the important factors for a great team on the blackboard, such as clear goals, good communication, division of labor, mutual support, etc.
5. Summary and Homework (5 minutes)
Summarize the content of this class, including the new vocabulary, key sentences, and the main ideas about teamwork. Emphasize the importance of teamwork in our daily lives.
Assign homework: Ask students to write a short passage about a team they know well, introducing the team's members, what they do, and why they think it is a good team. They should use at least five new words or phrases learned in this class.
教学反思
After teaching this class, I think the following aspects have been successful. The lead - in part effectively attracted students' attention and activated their prior knowledge, making them interested in the topic of teamwork. The pre - viewing and listening vocabulary teaching and prediction activities helped students better understand the following materials. During the viewing and listening process, the step - by - step tasks gradually improved students' listening and viewing comprehension skills. The group discussion in the post - viewing and listening part provided students with a good opportunity to express their opinions and share their experiences, enhancing their oral communication ability and understanding of teamwork.
However, there are also some areas that need improvement. Some students were still a bit shy during the group discussion and did not actively participate. In the future, I should encourage them more and create a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Also, when explaining some complex concepts about teamwork, such as the cooperation mechanisms within a team, some students seemed to have difficulty understanding. I need to find more vivid and easy - to - understand examples to help them in the future teaching. Overall, I will continue to adjust and improve my teaching methods to make the class more effective.
