Do you know doing chores at home can help kids become better?
One study followed 10,000 young students’ school performance for three years. Scientists found that kids who did chores at home got better grades and felt happier by third grade than kids who didn’t help. Another study showed chores help kids remember things better and control their actions. For example, when kids make their own food or help cook meals, they learn to plan and follow rules.
It’s good to start when kids are very young. Little kids (2-4 years) can put toys away or give water to plants. Younger school kids (5-7 years) can make the bed or put plates on the table. Older kids (8+) can fold clothes, help make food, or take out the rubbish. Parents should explain clearly what to do. Instead of saying “Clean your room,” say “Put your books here and dirty clothes there.” Doing chores at the same time every day helps kids remember, like giving food to the pet after eating breakfast or putting clothes in groups every weekend.
Letting kids join in the housework teaches them to care for themselves. Chores aren’t just cleaning—they teach kids how to live. When kids help at home, they feel proud, learn to solve problems, and get ready to grow up. Next time you clean, ask your kids to help! Teaching them now will help them later.

A. Taking care of their parents.

C. Bringing others happiness.
34. How does the writer develop the passage?
A. By giving numbers and choices.
B. By presenting opinions and facts.
C. By showing examples and results.

___46___ From exciting kung fu fights to sweet love stories, every project feels like a different journey. But my favorite? Cartoons! Why? Because I get to create all kinds of voices: funny high-pitched (声音尖的) ones for friendly characters, deep scary ones for bad guys, and even funny sounds for talking animals!
Take A Hundred Birds Paying Homage to the Phoenix (《百鸟朝凤》) for example. I voiced a proud blackbird who thinks he’s the phoenix’s best friend. But he’s actually clumsy (笨拙的) and stupid! ___47___ Another favorite is Yu Gong Moves the Mountains. Here, I played two roles: Qingfeng, a brave boy with a strong, clear voice, and the main bad guy Mountain Spirit Zheng, who shouted like a storm!
The hardest part? ___48___ Once, while dubbing Qingfeng pushing a giant rock, I had to breathe loudly, and shout crazily right when his muscles bulged (鼓胀) on screen! ___49___ And the director laughed, “You sound like you’re lifting a mountain too!”
___50___ You can be a brave hero, a gentle river, or even a funny cloud! Next time you watch a cartoon, listen closely: maybe my voice is hiding inside, bringing the characters to life! If you enjoy making funny voices, I highly suggest you try dubbing at least once—it’s like being a superhero…but with sound!
A. Matching voices to actions!
B. My face turned red like a tomato.
C. Dubbing isn’t just reading—it’s acting with your voice.
D. As a dubbing artist, I turn Chinese shows into English for people around the world.

A. 完成图表。(共5小题; 每小题2分, 计10分)
根据短文内容,完成图表中所缺信息。
In some Chinese schools, cooking classes are now busy with activities. Imagine walking into a classroom filled with mouthwatering smells, the sound of pans, and students laughing as they cut vegetables or mix salads. While these classes seem fun, they also teach students important life skills.
Take dumpling-making, for example. As students fold dough (面团) around meat and vegetables, teachers share stories. “Long ago, dumplings shaped like gold coins brought good luck,” one teacher explains. “Now, families make them together during Spring Festival.” By doing this, history and traditions are passed down. When they make food from other countries, they also discover world cultures.
But cooking isn’t always perfect, mistakes sometimes happen, and that’s how students grow. Li Mei once baked a rock-hard cake for her mom’s birthday. But her teacher smiled: “At your age, I burned so many cakes, my mother joked about buying a fire extinguisher (灭火器)!” Together, they found the problem. In the next class, her soft, golden cake made him smile. “Mistakes are like salt,” the teacher said. “A little is OK, but too much can ruin (毁掉) the food. Learn from them, and you’ll improve.”
Cooking doesn’t just stay in the classroom, it also brings families together. One mom shared how her daughter taught her to make heart-shaped cookies after class. “The first cookies looked awful, but we laughed so hard. The second try was perfect—now it’s our family tradition and we’ve got closer since then.”
Cooking classes are part of China’s labor (劳动) education program, which teaches self-care ability, creativity, teamwork, and so on. These skills will help students no matter what they do in the future. So next time someone says cooking class is useless, tell them: the best lessons aren't in books—they’re in the kitchen!

B. 任务型阅读。(共5小题, 每小题2分, 计10分)
根据短文内容, 按要求回答问题。
People say teamwork is great, but I think it can sometimes make things harder. I used to work in an office, but now I work alone at home. It made me wonder: Why does teamwork cause problems instead of solving them?
Some people just want things their way. In a team, there’s often someone who talks the loudest or acts selfishly (自私地). Others might agree with them even if their ideas aren’t good. Teamwork feels like solving a puzzle (谜) with missing pieces when different personalities mix. It’s impossible to work well in those cases.
Time is another problem. Once, I was on a team that never met enough. We were all busy and had no time to talk about good plans. Teams need hours together to share ideas and listen—like a football team that practices every day. If players don’t train, they can’t win games.
Many teams also don’t learn how to work together. Trust doesn’t magically appear. You can’t throw strangers into a room and say, “Be a team!” You need to learn to respect each other and solve problems step by step. But most teams never get this training.
Working alone isn’t perfect, though. When my computer breaks, I miss having helpers nearby. When I think of a cool idea, there’s no one to ask, “Is this good?” Making all the decisions myself is fun, but it’s lonely too.
Still, I like my quiet “me team” better now. I decide everything, and there’s no arguing—quite independent! But I finally understand why my old teams failed. Good teamwork needs patience, time, and people who care about each other. Maybe one day, if I learn to fix those problems, my “me team” could grow into a real “we team.” After all, even the best players need a team to win.
56. Why did the writer leave teamwork for working alone? (No more than 8 words)
______________________________________________________________
57. Why does the writer compare selfish team members to “a puzzle with missing pieces”? (No more than 8 words)

60. Why does the writer call his team a “me team” but still want a “we team”? (With a sentence)
______________________________________________________________
【答案】56. Because teamwork caused problems.
57. Different personalities mix poorly.
58. Teams need time together.
59. They fail.
60. He enjoys independence but recognizes teamwork’s value.

【答案】例文:
GROWTH
Growing up means understanding important things to help us become better. For me, growth involves knowing the need to share housework, the importance of communicating, and the meaning of volunteering.
Sharing housework is essential. Firstly, it lightens parents’ burden. They work hard all day, and our help can give them a break. Secondly, it teaches us life skills. Communicating matters a lot. When we talk openly, misunderstandings will disappear. On one hand, it helps build better relationships. On the other hand, it improves our expression ability. Volunteering is meaningful. For instance, it spreads love and care. When we help others, we make the world warmer. Also, it develops empathy.
Once, my mom was ill. I decided to share housework. I cooked simple meals and cleaned the house. Through this, I realized how tired my mom usually was. This experience made me understand the value of sharing housework.
In a word, these understandings guide me to grow into a more responsible and caring person.

Older kids (8+) can fold clothes help make food, or take out the rubbish.
