1.Greet the class.
2.Ask some students to introduce themselves or one of their classmates.
Step 2 Presentation
1.Ask students to read Millie’s message to her old friend Jenny and pay attention to the use of the verb be.
2.Ask one student to read out the passage.
3.Ask students to fill the following blanks.
We use (am,are,is) with I.
We use (am,are,is) with you,we and they.
We use (am,are,is) with he,she and it.
4.Check the answers and conclude the rules.

1.Work on A
(1)Let students look at the pictures in A.These are some pictures of Millie,her classmates and her teacher at the new school.Complete what they are saying with the correct forms of the verb be.
(2)Ask some students to read out the sentences and share their correct answers.And check together.
(3)Ask students to pay attention to the pronunciation of the new words.

(1)Let students look at the conversation and complete the conversation with the correct forms of the verb be.
(2)Ask some students to read out the conversation and share their answers.

本节课学习了动词be的一般现在时的用法。由于讲解内容较多,学生不容易掌握,所以在教学中设置了造句、填空等练习,帮助学生加深理解。通过教学实践发现,在传授语法知识的过程中,要注意调动学生的兴趣,同时要将所学知识及时加以巩固练习。

(2)Ask students to put them in the correct sound groups.And check the answers together.

(1)Let students look at the groups of words and read the new words according to the sound of the word in the centre in each group.

本课时主要是语音课。有些学生刚开始接触音标,发音还不够标准。在之后的教学中,要注意调动学生的积极性,可以通过课前播放英文歌、英文电影等方式,激发学生说英语的兴趣,让学生多开口说。
