Brown High School has an independent reading program every summer. Our goals for independent reading include knowing oneself as a reader, understanding how to find what one loves to read for fun, and learning how to connect with others around books and reading. To that end, we offer you our summer reading program. You can see the introductions to reading clubs on this page and click different links to see more detailed information. Every student must join at least one book club this summer. Club 1: For students who like reading books in which famous people write about their own life. Club 2: For students who like reading long written stories in which the characters and events are not usually in real life. Club 3: For students who like reading pieces of writing that express emotions, experiences, and ideas, especially in short lines using words that have the same last sound. Club 4: For students who like reading news reports describing real events and people. However, we strongly recommend that one of the books you choose be an “unlikely choice”. An “unlikely choice” will be a type of book that you-wouldn't normally pick. This helps readers to walk outside their comfort zones or usual selections. To discover your “unlikely choice”, explore the Peer page in which your classmates will recommend their favorite books and the Senior page in which teachers will pick their favorite books for students. Parents/ caregivers may want to explore the Staff page to learn more about how to support their children's independent reading. If students want to get some advice on the choice of books from professional authors, please click the Pro link for more information. 21.Where is this text probably taken from? A.A school textbook. They told me personal stories I’d never heard. I learned about the first time my dad got drunk. Mum talked about getting in trouble for staying out late. They gave me life advice and told me things about their childhoods, as well as my own. It was amazing. For a moment I forgot I wasn’t really talking to my parents at all, but to their digital copies. This Mum and Dad live inside an app on my phone as voice assistants created by the company HereAfter AI. The company’s goal is to let the living communicate with the dead. Technology like this, which lets you “talk” to people who have died, has been a mainstay of science fiction for decades. But now it’s becoming a reality, thanks to advances in AI and voice technology. I wanted to test out what it might be like. My real, flesh-and-blood parents are still alive and well; their virtual versions (虚拟版) were made just to help me understand the technology. But their digital copies offer a glimpse at a world where it’s possible to have conversations with loved ones long after they’re gone. From what I could know over a dozen conversations with my virtual parents, this really will make it easier to keep the people we loved close. It’s not hard to see the attraction. People might turn to digital copies for comfort, or to mark special occasions like anniversaries. But for some, this tech may be alarming or frightening. When I talked to friends about this article, some of them just went away. There’s a common, deeply held belief that we shouldn’t mess with death. But I’m only human, and that worry ends up being washed away by the even scarier possibility of losing the people I love. If technology might help me hang onto them, is it so wrong to try? 24.Why did the writer chat with his virtual parents? A.To remember his late parents. B.To learn more about his parents. C.To see how the technology works. D.To find ways to improve the technology. 25.What can we learn about the technology mentioned? A.It allows users to live on an app. B.It leads users to lose their friends. C.It is invented by a science fiction writer. D.It offers a link between the dead and the living. 26.What is the writer’s attitude towards the technology? A.Supportive. B.Unclear. C.Objective. D.Doubtful. 27.Which of the following is a suitable title for the text? A.Your can talk to your parents. B.Parents appear on your phone. C.AI means never having to say goodbye. D.A breakthrough in AI may benefit you. C Imagining being asked to spend twelve or so years of your life in a society which consisted only of members of own sex. How would you react? Unless there was something definitely wrong with you, you wouldn’t be too happy about it, to say the least. It is all the more surprising therefore that so many parents in the world choose to impose such abnormal conditions on their children conditions which they themselves wouldn’t put up with for one minute! Any discussion of this topic is bound to question the aims of education. Stuffing children’s heads full of knowledge is far from being foremost among them. One of the chief aims of educations is to equip future citizens with all they require to take their place in adult society. Now adult society is made up of men and women, so how can a segregated school possibly offer the right sort of preparation for it? Anyone entering adult society after years of segregation can only be in for a shock. A co-educational school offers children nothing less than a true version of society in miniature. Boys and girls are given the opportunity to get to know each other, to learn to live together from their earliest years. They are put in a position where they can compare themselves with each other in terms of academic ability, athletic achievement and many of the extra-curricular activities which are part of school life. What a practical advantage it is(to give just a small example)to be able to put on a school play in which the male parts will be taken by boys and the female parts by girls! What nonsense co-education makes of the argument that boys are cleverer than girl or vice-versa. When segregated, boys and girls are made to feel that they are a race apart. Rivalry between the sexes is fostered. In a coeducational school, everything falls into its proper place. But perhaps the greatest contribution of co-education is the healthy attitude to life it encourages. Boys don’t grow up believing that women are mysterious creatures-airy goddesses, more like book-illustrations to a fairy-tale, than human beings. Girls don’t grow up imagining that men are romantic heroes. 28.What is the best title for this passage? A.Only co-education can be in harmony with society. B.People are in great need of co-education. C.Any form of education other than co-education is simply unthinkable. D.Co-education has many features. 29.What does co-education offer to children? A.A society. B.A true small model of society. C.A real life. D.A version of social condition. 30.According to the passage, what is one of the chief aims of education? A.It is for students to acquire knowledge. B.It is to equip future citizens with scientific technology. C.It is to equip future citizens with what is required in getting a position in society. D.It is for students to get academic achievements. 31.Why do boys and girls in co-education have no illusion about each other? A.They live together and know each other too well. B.Years of living together at school dismiss such illusion. C.Co-education encourage them to have an healthy attitude toward life. D.They are familiar with each other’ s problems. D Save the gorilla (大猩猩)! Protect tigers! Help the giant kangaroo rats! You’ve probably heard the first two slogans but maybe not the last one. We’re often interested in supporting the protection of animals like gorillas and tigers but less concerned for creatures like rats. Are our stereotypes (刻板印象) affecting which animals we choose to protect? Researchers have studied how people view animals based on two qualities: “warmth” (how friendly we think they are) and “competence” (how capable they seem). Animals we see as companions, such as dogs and monkeys, score high in both warmth and competence. This makes us eager to protect them. Predators (捕食者) like tigers and bears are seen as competent but not very warm. While some people admire these animals, others may fear or hunt them. Animals viewed as prey (猎物), like cows and rabbits, often receive less attention, but people are prepared to actively harm those considered pests, such as rats and mice. However, this might not be the full story. National Geographic Magazine asked their readers which animals were the most important to save. Four of the top five fit the companion or predator types-elephants, tigers, whales and polar bears. But the most popular animal to save was the bee. It seems that apart from concerns around warmth and competence, people are aware how species can affect the wider ecosystem and value bees as pollinators (传粉者). At present, 27,000 species are becoming extinct every year. How do zoos and protection projects decide which animals to support? One factor is the importance of an animal to the wider ecosystem, but this can lead to some difficult choices. It’s reported that in Australia, koalas are much less important to the ecosystem than some lesser-known animals such as woylies. However, they also suggest a solution to this issue. To conserve cute animals, such as koalas, it’s important to protect their entire habitat-and this can save a wide variety of species. It could be that many animals can be sheltered by koalas’ cuteness. 32.What’s the focus of the research? A.How human views affect animal protection efforts. B.What qualities different types of animal species have. C.How human activities influence wildlife populations. D.What characteristics affect public interest in species. 33.What do we know from paragraph 2? A.Companions are more capable than others. B.Predators are always feared and hunted. C.Animals seen as friendly are more protected. D.Pests are generally well-liked by people. 34.Why are bees an important species to save? A.They are popular pets among humans. B.They rank high in warmth and competence. C.They are the largest pollinators in ecosystems. D.They support species variety through pollination. 35.What’s the purpose of mentioning koalas in the last paragraph? A.To highlight the popularity of certain cute animals. B.To offer suggestions on effective koalas protection. C.To stress the difficulty of making conservation decisions. D.To inform readers of the importance of habitat protection. Learning a new language is more than a skill. It gives you an opportunity to understand other cultures. 36 . Choose a language This is a personal decision. 37 If you enjoy studying Japanese history and culture, you may want to add Japanese to the list. Perhaps you’re planning to vacation in Brazil and decide to learn Portuguese before the trip. Maybe you live in an area with many Spanish speakers and believe being bilingual (双语的) will increase your job opportunities. 38 This is important because you need to know which words to use to express yourself and understand what you hear and see. According to the International Center for Language Studies, knowing between 4,000 and 10,000 words in a language typically makes you an advanced speaker. Accept mistakes Mistakes are a common part of the process when learning a language. You may choose the wrong word, change vowel sounds, or use the present tense form of a verb when talking about something that happened last week. When you make a mistake, pay attention to the advice you get. 39 . Set aside time to practice 40 . According to the US Department of State’s Foreign Service Institute, a native English speaker typically needs between 600 and 750 class hours to learn languages like Dutch, French, Italian, and Spanish. You’ll spend around 900 class hours learning German, Haitian Creole, and Swahili. Sometimes you need to learn languages with fewer features in common with English. Then you’d better put in at least 1,100 class hours. A.Build your vocabulary B.Keep trying before setting a goal C.Focus on the 100 most commonly used words D.Try out these steps for how to learn a new language E.Learning a new language takes time and needs regular practice F.Your interests, needs, and goals can help you narrow your choices G.For example, the person you’re talking to may correct your grammar or vocabulary choice 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题:每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文, 从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 Graduation ceremonies are often filled with proud families, smiling seniors and words of encouragement. It was an exciting adventure for all of us: my parents, my six-year-old sister Kelly and I. The journey was filled with laughter and joy as we sang songs and shared stories, also expressing the anticipation of the new adventure. As we drove along the way, we noticed a car parking by the roadside with its lights blinking (闪烁). A man stood by the car, a look of helplessness on his face as he stared at his car. My father, always a warm-hearted man, slowed down and pulled over to offer assistance. We all got out of the car, curious and concerned about the situation. The man, introducing himself as Samon, explained that he had a flat tire (轮胎), and he had called for roadside assistance and was waiting for help. But he said his one-year-old son was inside the car, crying and clearly upset by the delay. Kelly, with a warm heart, decided to give her favorite toy to the little boy to comfort him. The toy, with a jingling sound, made the boy’s tears stop right away, even bringing a smile to the boy’s face. Samon thanked us profusely (多次). Then we continued on our way with a renewed sense of happiness. Upon arriving in Seattle, we were amazed by everything of the city. We explored the vibrant Pike Place Market and watched as fishmongers threw fish to one another with practiced ease, their customers cheering them on. My sister’s eyes sparkled with excitement as she received a flower from a kind trader. We spent three days enjoying immersive exploration in Seattle. After that, we decided it was time to head back home. Before we left, my father made a reservation in a famous local restaurant to say goodbye to the city with a memorable meal. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a familiar face. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That night, as we drove back home, we reflected on (回想) our trip. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试卷第1页,共3页 试卷第1页,共3页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$ 2025-2026学年高一英语上学期第一次月考卷02(江苏) (考试时间:120分钟 试卷满分:150分) 考生注意: 1. 1.When will the man see the action movie? B.A school website. C.A reading club’s annual report. D.A book store website. 22.Which club is suitable for students who like reading poems? A.Club 1. B.Club 2. C.Club 3. D.Reading recommendations from teachers. 根据文章第一段“You can see the introductions to reading clubs on this page and click different links to see more detailed information.(你可以在此页面上看到阅读俱乐部的介绍,并点击不同链接以查看更多详细信息)”可推知,这段文字很可能来自学校网站。故选B。 22. 根据Club 3部分“For students who like reading pieces of writing that express emotions, experiences, and ideas, especially in short lines using words that have the same last sound.(适合喜欢阅读表达情感、经历和想法的文章的学生,尤其是在短行词中使用押韵词)可知,Club 3适合喜欢诗歌的学生。故选C。 23.细节理解题。根据最后一段“To discover your “unlikely choice”, explore the Peer page in which your classmates will recommend their favorite books(发现你的“不可能选择”,探索同龄人页面,你的同学们会推荐他们最喜欢的书籍。)可知,学生可以从Peer页面了解到他们同学最喜欢的书。故选B。 B At first, they sounded distant, as if they were around a phone in a prison. But as we chatted, they slowly started to sound more like themselves. 【答案】24.C 25.D 26.A 27.C 【导语】本文是一篇夹叙夹议文。文章讲述了作者通过与HereAfter AI公司开发的语音助手的对话,体验了与已故亲人“交流”的感觉,并讨论了这种技术可能引发的伦理和情感问题。 24.细节理解题。根据第二段中“I wanted to test out what it might be like. (我想测试一下它会是什么样子。)”和第三段中“My real, flesh-and-blood parents are still alive and well; their virtual versions (虚拟版) were made just to help me understand the technology. (我真正的、有血有肉的父母还健在;他们的虚拟版本只是为了帮助我理解这项技术。)”可知,作者和他的虚拟父母聊天是为了看看这项技术是如何工作的。故选C项。 25.细节理解题。根据第二段中“This Mum and Dad live inside an app on my phone as voice assistants created by the company HereAfter AI. The company’s goal is to let the living communicate with the dead. (这个爸爸妈妈生活在我手机上的一个应用程序里,是由HereAfter AI公司开发的语音助手。该公司的目标是让生者与死者交流。)”可知,这项技术提供了生者与死者之间的联系。故选D项。 26.推理判断题。根据第一段中“It was amazing. For a moment I forgot I wasn’t really talking to my parents at all, but to their digital copies. (太神奇了。有那么一刻,我忘记了我其实根本不是在和父母说话,而是在和他们的电子复制品说话。)”和最后一段“But I’m only human, and that worry ends up being washed away by the even scarier possibility of losing the people I love. If technology might help me hang onto them, is it so wrong to try? (但我只是凡人,这种担心最终会被失去我所爱的人的更可怕的可能性冲淡。如果科技可以帮助我留住它们,那么尝试一下就错了吗?)”可知,作者觉得这项技术给人的体验很神奇,一定程度上它可以帮助普通人留住所爱的人,值得尝试。因此,作者对该技术持支持的态度。故选A项。 27.主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第二段中“Technology like this, which lets you “talk” to people who have died, has been a mainstay of science fiction for decades. But now it’s becoming a reality, thanks to advances in AI and voice technology. 【答案】28.C 29.B 30.C 31.B 【导语】这是一篇议论文。文章文章探讨了男女同校教育为孩子提供社会缩影,让其相互了解、共同生活、多方面比较,且有打破性别谬论、避免对立等实际优势,最大贡献是培养健康生活态度,消除孩子对异性的不切实际幻想 。 28.主旨大意题。根据文章大意以及第一段“Imagining being asked to spend twelve or so years of your life in a society which consisted only of members of own sex. How would you react? Unless there was something definitely wrong with you, you wouldn’t be too happy about it, to say the least. It is all the more surprising therefore that so many parents in the world choose to impose such abnormal conditions on their children conditions which they themselves wouldn’t put up with for one minute!( 想象一下,你被要求在一个只有同性成员的社会中度过12年左右的时间。 根据第三段中“A co-educational school offers children nothing less than a true version of society in miniature.( 男女同校的学校为孩子们提供了一个真实的社会缩影。)” 可知,男女同校的学校为孩子们提供了一个真实的社会缩影。故选B项。 30.细节理解题。根据第二段中“One of the chief aims of educations is to equip future citizens with all they require to take their place in adult society.( 教育的主要目的之一是使未来的公民具备在成人社会中占有一席之地所需的一切知识。)”可知,教育的主要目的之一是让未来的公民具备在成人社会中立足所需的一切。故选C项。 31.推理判断题。根据第三段中“Boys and girls are given the opportunity to get to know each other, to learn to live together from their earliest years. They are put in a position where they can compare themselves with each other in terms of academic ability, athletic achievement and many of the extra-curricular activities which are part of school life.( 男孩和女孩有机会相互了解,从他们最早的几年开始就学会一起生活。他们被置于一个可以在学术能力、运动成绩和许多课外活动方面相互比较的位置,这些都是学校生活的一部分。)”以及最后一段“Boys don’t grow up believing that women are mysterious creatures-airy goddesses, more like book-illustrations to a fairy-tale, than human beings. Girls don’t grow up imagining that men are romantic heroes.( 男孩在成长过程中不会相信女人是神秘的生物——飘渺的女神,更像是童话里的插图,而不是人类。女孩在成长过程中不会把男人想象成浪漫的英雄。)”可推知,男女同校的男生和女生对彼此没有幻想是因为在学校共同生活多年打消了这种幻想。故选B项。 D Save the gorilla (大猩猩)! 【答案】32.A 33.C 34.D 35.D 【导语】本文是一篇说明文。主要介绍的是人类对不同动物的观点会影响动物保护工作,以及生态系统中各物种的重要性。 32.细节理解题。根据首段中的“Are our stereotypes (刻板印象) affecting which animals we choose to protect?(我们的刻板印象是否影响了我们选择保护哪些动物?)”以及第二段中的“Researchers have studied how people view animals based on two qualities: “warmth” (how friendly we think they are) and “competence” (how capable they seem). Animals we see as companions, such as dogs and monkeys, score high in both warmth and competence. This makes us eager to protect them. (研究人员研究了人们基于两个特质来如何看待动物:“温暖”(我们认为它们有多友好)和“能力”(它们看起来有多能干)。像狗和猴子这样的伴侣动物在温暖和能力上都得分很高,这使我们热切地想要保护它们。)”可知,第一段通过提问的方式引出下文讲述的研究,第二段介绍的是人们对不同类型动物的态度影响是否保护这些动物,由此可知,研究关注的是人类的观点如何影响动物保护工作。故选A项。 33.细节理解题。根据第二段中的“Animals we see as companions, such as dogs and monkeys, score high in both warmth and competence. This makes us eager to protect them.(我们视为同伴的动物,如狗和猴子,在温暖和能力方面得分都很高,这使我们热切地想要保护它们。)”可知,被视为友好的动物更可能得到人们的保护。故选C项。 34.推理判断题。根据第三段中的“But the most popular animal to save was the bee. It seems that apart from concerns around warmth and competence, people are aware how species can affect the wider ecosystem and value bees as pollinators (传粉者).(但是,最受欢迎的保护动物是蜜蜂。看来,除了对温暖和能力的关注外,人们还意识到物种如何影响更广泛的生态系统,并重视蜜蜂作为传粉者的角色。)”可知,人们认识到某些物种对更大生态系统的重要性,由此可知,蜜蜂是重要的需要保护的物种的原因是它们通过授粉支持物种多样性。故选D项。 35.推理判断题。根据尾段中的“To conserve cute animals, such as koalas, it’s important to protect their entire habitat-and this can save a wide variety of species. It could be that many animals can be sheltered by koalas’ cuteness.(为了保护像考拉这样的可爱动物,保护它们的整个栖息地至关重要——这可以拯救多种多样的物种。可能许多动物因为考拉的可爱而得到庇护。)”可知,为了保护动物的栖息地有助于保护该物种,所以,这样做可以保护更多的物种,由此可知,文章提到考拉是为了告知读者保护栖息地的重要性。故选D项。 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Learning a new language is more than a skill. A.Build your vocabulary B.Keep trying before setting a goal C.Focus on the 100 most commonly used words D.Try out these steps for how to learn a new language E.Learning a new language takes time and needs regular practice F.Your interests, needs, and goals can help you narrow your choices G.For example, the person you’re talking to may correct your grammar or vocabulary choice 【答案】36.D 37.F 38.A 39.G 40.E 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,介绍学习新语言的步骤,包括选语言、建词汇、接受错误和定期练习等。 36.根据上文“Learning a new language is more than a skill. But at Mansfield ISD’s Summit High School, the Class of 2025 received something 41 — a personal letter from their headmaster. Headmaster Jason Mutterer went above and beyond by personally writing 443 42 letters with specific thanks. Along with each note, he 43 a single dollar bill, symbolizing the power of even the smallest acts of 44 . The letters took him more than 24 hours to 45 , but to Mutterer, it was time well spent. His goal: to show his students that individual kindness 46 , and that together, 443 random (随机的) acts of kindness can start a ripple effect (涟漪效应) and create 47 change in the world. Take my weight loss as an example, going positive can make me change my mind, better solve problems and make me 56 (happy). In the beginning, I always wanted to be slim, 57 (hope) to look like the slim girls on TV, even though I knew it was impossible 58 (reach) the goal. I was concerned about my weight and tried every new diet I read about online, but it didn’t work 59 (effective). Then I read an article, 60 said instead of asking “Am I fat?” I should be asking “Am I fit?” I had no idea a letter could make such 61 difference. Once I started thinking about 62 (fit) rather than weight, things began to change. Rather than 63 (cut) out the foods I enjoyed, I added healthy foods to my meals. Besides, I would go out for a run or do push-ups. Finally, I stopped comparing with models 64 looking for things that were wrong with my face or body. Instead, I 65 (make) a list of the things good for myself. By being positive about myself and my body, I became much healthier than before. 【答案】 56.happier 57.hoping 58.to reach 59.effectively 60.which 61.a 62.fitness 63.cutting 64.and 65.made 【导语】这是一篇记叙文。 故填to reach。 59.考查副词。句意:我很担心我的体重,尝试了我在网上读到的每一种新的饮食方法,但都没有有效的效果。因为空格前的work是动词,所以用提示词的副词形式effectively,修饰动词work,作状语。故填effectively。 60.考查定语从句。句意:然后我读了一篇文章,里面没有问“我胖吗?”。分析句式结构可知,此处是非限制性定语从句,先行词article指物,且从句中缺少主语,所以用关系代词which来引导。故填which。 61.考查冠词。句意:我应该问“我健康吗?”我不知道一封信能起如此大的作用。根据空格前的make可知,此处用不定冠词a构成固定短语make a difference表示“起作用”。故填a。 62. 故填and。 65.考查动词时态。句意:相反,我列出了一个对自己有益的清单。分析句式结构,空格处是谓语动词的位置,再根据上文的stopped可知,句子陈述过去发生的事情,应用一般过去时。故填made。 第四部分 写作(共两节, 满分40分) 第一节(满分15分) 66.假如你是李华,你的朋友Eric来信和你讲述进入高中后面临学习压力和交友困难。假定你是李华,请你给Eric写一封邮件,内容包括: (1)表示理解; (2)提出建议(至少两条)。 注意: (1)写作词数应为80左右;(2)请按如下格式在答题纸的相应位置作答。 Dear Eric, ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Yours, Li Hua 【答案】Dear Eric, Hearing that you have trouble with your study and making friends, I quite connect with you because I have also had such experiences. What’s more, consider joining school clubs or participating in group activities, as they provide excellent opportunities to meet new friends with similar interests. I hope you will find these suggestions practical and helpful. Yours sincerely, Li Hua 【导语】本文是一篇应用文。要求考生写一篇建议信,就朋友Eric进入高中后面临学习压力和交友困难提出建议。 【详解】1. 词汇积累 求助:seek help from → turn to/ask for assistance from 除此以外:what’s more → additionally/moreover 考虑:consider → think about 结识新朋友:meet new friends → make new acquaintances/expand your social circle 2. 句式拓展 同义句替换 原句:I hope you will find these suggestions practical and helpful. 拓展句:I hope these suggestions will be helpful to you, as they have proven practical in my own experience. 【点睛】【高分句型1】Hearing that you have trouble with your study and making friends, I quite connect with you because I have also had such experiences. (运用了非谓语作状语,运用了because引导原因状语从句) 【高分句型2】Firstly, I strongly recommend bettering your learning strategies to suit your learning styles so that you can learn faster and better. (运用了非谓语作宾语,运用了非谓语作状语,运用了so that引导目的状语从句) 第二节(满分25分) 67.阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。 Last summer, our family went on a road trip to our neighboring city, Seattle, for a vacation. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150个左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a familiar face. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ That night, as we drove back home, we reflected on (回想) our trip. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version: As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by a familiar face. To our surprise, it was Samon who approached our table with a look of astonishment and gratitude. He explained that it was purely coincidental that he was dining at the same restaurant to celebrate his son’s first birthday. The little boy, still with Kelly’s toy, lit up with joy upon seeing us. Samon thanked us again and insisted on treating our dinner. Over the course of the meal, we shared stories about our lives and exchanged contact information, promising to keep in touch. That night, as we drove back home, we reflected on (回想) our trip. Seattle’s sights were amazing, but the true highlight was the lesson in compassion. Helping Samon showed us how small actions can have big impacts. Kelly sat quietly in the back seat and smiled, remembering her sacrifice for the crying child. Our journey was not just about exploring a city but also about discovering the joy that comes from connecting with others through acts of kindness, leaving us with a lasting sense of fulfillment. 词汇激活 行为类 ①接近:approach/come near to ②静静地坐着:sit quietly/be seated quietly ③回想起:remember/recall 情绪类 ①惊讶:to our surprise/surprisingly/in amazement ②感谢:thank/show appreciation to/show gratitude to/be grateful to 【点睛】[高分句型1]. D.Reading recommendations from teachers. B At first, they sounded distant, as if they were around a phone in a prison. But as we chatted, they slowly started to sound more like themselves. 第二节(共5小题:每小题2. 5分, 满分12. 5分) 阅读短文, 从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 Learning a new language is more than a skill. Mutterer 48 his seniors during the school’s graduation ceremony, calling it an absolute honor to 49 this excellent class. Mutterer wanted to 50 them with something. “Inside that letter, there’s a single dollar bill,” Mutterer said. “It might seem 51 , but if 443 kids are doing random acts of kindness every day, it has a huge 52 .” “He made every one of us feel seen and loved,” said one student after the graduation ceremony. “Hopefully we get to 53 the kindness one day and make other people feel important and appreciated.” Mutterer’s parting 54 to his students was more than a goodbye. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试题 第3页(共12页) 试题 第4页(共12页) 试题 第1页(共12页) 试题 第2页(共12页) 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$
