Friends are very important to us. Sometimes we just want to develop some new
friendships. Here are some of the best apps for you to make new friends.
Atleto
Research shows that exercising with a friend promotes more motivation and
healthier lifestyle habits. Atleto is an app that builds on this “exercise contagion (传染)”
phenomenon by bringing together athletic people to take exercise together and organise
group activities. You can choose from over 40 sports and find your community of people
who like to be in a sweat.
Friender
Studies show that we’re eager to seek out people similar to us. Suppose you’re sick
of boring surface-level conversations. In that case, Friender solves that problem quickly
with an algorithm (算法) that only matches you based on your favorite activities and
interests. This friend-finding
app makes it easy to get into conversations that you care about. If you feel like you don’t
have many hobbies or interests to type into an app, one of the easiest ways to start is to try
out new hobbies.
PawDate
Dogs are great companions, but sometimes it’s nice to talk to humans, too. This app
connects pet owners to meet up at dog parks or walk with their pups. You get to set up
doggie play dates and find new friends at the same time! It’s a win-win.
Skout
Skout started back in 2007 to help people make new friends. The matches are based
on geographical distances and preferences. It’s perfect for meeting people while traveling,
moving, or entering a new chapter of life. One of the best features is the ability to
discover people directly in the vicinity (在附近) by checking into a location and seeing
who else on the app is there.
21. Who is Atleto intended for?
A. Those who like to walk their dogs.
B. Those who want to play sports together.
C. Those who want to develop new hobbies.
D. Those who like to do community service.
22. What can people do by using Friender?
A. Solve conversation problems.
B. Share their favorite activities.
C. Make new friends while traveling.
D. Have conversations with like-minded people.
23. Which app can help the user find new friends quickly at a new place?
A. Skout. B. Atleto.
C. Friender. D. PawDate.

My earliest memories are of having two very old parents. My mother was 42 when I
was born, which back then was seriously old to have a baby, and a little risky too. My
oldest brother was 14 years older than me and the middle brother ten years older. When I
was quite small they had both left home. I grew up almost like an only child. I tended to
amuse myself and play in the garden and draw and paint and shoot. I suppose you do
learn as an only child that you're going to have to get on with life by yourself. You're
going to have to find things that excite and move you.
I was shipped off to Sunday school in Edinburgh when I was seven years old. I felt a
proper Charlie, because I was the only little boy among the Sunday school children who
was wearing a kilt (苏格兰短裙). I also felt rather threatened by the stories we were
taught. Old-school Christianity was filled with punishment and anger that I didn't really
enjoy. For the rest of my attendance at Sunday school, I didn't get closer than climbing a
tree outside the church and hiding in the branches, waiting until the children came out,
then dropping down to join the school team and walking out of the church to be met by
my parents, who were then reassured that I'd been to Sunday school as I was supposed to.
When my parents moved to Blackpool, my aunt, who came to live with us, took me
to two or three concerts. I got to see Cliff Richard, Adam Faith and the early Rolling
Stones performing at Blackpool's ABC Theatre-which, when I was 12 years old, was an
important moment of recognising that that isn't what I wanted to do with the rest of my
life, because the music they played was not what I was enjoying. I was drawn to the blues
and Black American folk music. It felt very real and human.
24. What do we know about the author's childhood?

A. He liked wearing a kilt.

“Red tourism”, a new form of travel where people visit important historical sites
and monuments(纪念碑).It has improved the development of the tourism industry in
summer. And red tourism becomes more popular during the National Day Golden Week
holiday.
Ticket bookings for red tourism sites in June increased by five times with local and
short trips to red tourism sites being the choice of about 88 percent of such tourists. And
the search for the term "red tourism" on Mafengwo, a Chinese travel service and social-
networking platform(平台), increased by 300 percent during the summer holidays.
Red tourism is not only about the joy of visiting a new place and enjoying the
wonderful sights. It is also about gaining knowledge about history and being inspired by
the stories of the people who gave their lives to the founding of the People’s Republic in
1949 and worked for the happiness of the Chinese people. By rediscovering history and
passing on the stories of the Chinese revolution(革命)and its heroes to the next
generations,people can lift their spirits.
Red tourism can also be used as an opportunity to develop rural(农村的)areas
because most of the red tourism sites are in the countryside. It can raise the incomes(收
入)of local people. Since red tourism creates jobs and helps increase farmers’
incomes, it contributes to local economic development.
Data show that this year, there are about 2 billion tourists visiting red tourism sites,
and its market size nearly reaches 1 trillion. Yet red tourism faces some developmental
problems, mainly because some local government officials have failed to make the best
use of red tourism resources for local development.

A. It is not popular with the young.
B. It has brought life to tourism.
C. It is a traditional form of tourism.

A. Local people can make more money.
B. It can help improve farming equipment.
C. It can offer job opportunities to visitors.
D. Local people can receive much help from society.
31. What will be mentioned in the following paragraphs?
A. More and more people will choose red tourism.
B. Many travel companies will benefit from red tourism.
C.Some measures should be taken to solve problems.
D. More red tourism sites should be open to the public.

After bikes and umbrellas are made sharable across China, some companies started
to focus on the fitness market, so shared gym rooms have hit the streets in Beijing.
Unlike common gyms that provide large, open spaces for many members to share at
the same time, the newly built shared gym rooms are small, separate rooms for only a
person to use at a time, often set up near living communities. Every four-square-meter
room provides a treadmill (跑步机), an air cleaner, a mirror, a television and an air
conditioner, and users can let down the curtains (窗帘) for privacy. When exercising,
users can listen to music, watch movies and check emails by connecting to the Internet by
the screen fixed on the treadmill. But there’s no shower. Similar to using a shared bike,
users can locate a shared gym room by a smartphone app, book a room in advance and
then need to scan a QR code for use. A refundable deposit (保证金) of 99 yuan is
required, and users are charged 1 yuan every 5 minutes.
The shared gym rooms are created by Misspao, a Beijing-based technology company
founded in July. Within several months since it was founded, the company has already

raised over 100 million yuan. However, the idea of the shared fitness experience is not
totally nascent. Last December, the company VRUN set up shared treadmills in office and
apartment buildings.
The sharing economy is still becoming popular in China. According to Yicai Global,
confident people are pouring millions into sharing start-ups. In March, the State
Information Center published a report which predicts that the total value of China’s
sharing economy will see a yearly growth of 40% in the coming years, and it is expected
to make a great contribution to the country’s GDP.
32. What makes the shared gym room different from the common one?
A. Holding one person at a time.
B. Standing in the living communities.
C. Offering open spaces.
D. Having all advanced equipment.
33. What do people need to do to use the shared gym room?
A. Pay 100 yuan first.
B. Let down curtains for privacy.
C. Take a shower before exercise.
D. Book a room ahead of time.
34. What does the underlined word “nascent” in paragraph 5 mean?
A. Simple. B. Popular. C. Satisfying. D. New.
35. What is the author’s purpose of writing the text?
A. To advertise a technology company. B. To introduce shared gym rooms.
C. To support the shared gym rooms. D .To predict the future of shared gym
rooms.
第二节(共 5 小题;每小题 2.5 分,满分 12.5 分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。有两项为多余选项。
It’s a scene we’re all familiar with. At some point during dinnertime, everyone in
the family is enthralled (被迷住的) with their phone instead of each other. 36 As
parents, we should really look at ways to keep this time a positive experience for them. So
what can be done to make it happen?
Reduce mealtime distractions. Teenagers who can openly talk with their parents
during dinnertime tend to experience lower stress levels. This is assuming that their
mealtime interactions consist of quality interactions. 37 They may find it harder to
engage in quality communication as their attention is divided elsewhere.
38 You can decide if and how you want to involve phones in your mealtimes and
openly discuss these boundaries as a family. One option is to set a time limit on how long
teens need to wait before pulling out their phones during dinner, or a timer on how long
they can be used before being put away.
Watch for signs your teen wants to connect. It can be difficult to notice a child’s
needs if you are on your phone, which is why it is essential to be aware of your
surroundings. Try to put down your phone and give your teenager your full attention
when they want to talk to you. 39
Be consistent. Consistent family dinners with positive communication contribute to
a better bond between parents and their teens. 40 Looking at your teens’ favorite
social media content together can bring you closer. As parents and teenagers laugh and
talk together, they feel more connected.
A. Set clear rules on table manners.
B. Set and communicate clear boundaries.
C. You can even use your phones to your advantage.
D. Stick to conversations involving the whole family.
E. Parents on their phones may ignore their kids more.
F. However, quality family dinnertime is vital for teens.
G. This will inspire great conversations you might have missed.

The Huang He Valley, also 56 (refer) to as the Yellow River Valley, was the
birthplace of ancient Chinese civilization, because of 57 it is often called “Mother
River”. The valley is at the center of thousands of years of Chinese history. 58 China's
second-longest river, the Huang He is over 5,400 kilometers long. It is called the Yellow
River because its waters carry sand and mud, 59 (give) the river its yellow-brown
color.
While the river helps create fertile land that is suited for farming, during certain
times of the year, the Huang He 60 (frequent) overflows, which damages housing and
crops across the North China Plain, 61 important agricultural region. For thousands of
years, the Chinese 62 (conduct) major public projects to keep control of the water
from the Huang He, including hydroelectric dams in modern times. Despite the possibility
of flooding, the Huang He Valley basin is home to a huge population, and many of the
country's oldest cities are located along the river.
Tribes and villages appeared from around 2100 BC to 1600 BC in the Huang He
Valley. During that time, tribal leaders came together to solve the problem of the Huang
He overflowing and wiping out 63 (they) villages and crops. With the ability 64

It was a very cold morning as it had been raining very heavily the previous night. As
my mother was feeling a little under the weather, my sister volunteered to drive me to
school. I had overslept and as a result, was running a bit late for school. We got into the
car hurriedly. The road was already crowded with traffic. It appeared that everyone was
late as well.
My sister was a careful driver and despite the fact I was already late, she refused to
drive fast on the slippery road. I was lucky she was such a determined and careful person
because a few hundred meters away from the school, we witnessed a tragic accident. It all
happened very quickly.
A car had made a left turning without signaling and as a result, a school bus crashed
into it. A few cars behind the school bus rammed(猛撞) into the bus as they could not
brake in time and soon it became a pile-up. The already crowded road became jammed
with vehicles that came to a crawl.
I told my sister that I wanted to help the victims and she nodded silently. She parked
the car not too far from the accident spot.
The scene that greeted us was something I would never forget. It left an
unforgettable impression in my mind to date. The passengers on the school bus were
injured. 1 rushed into the bus and saw the driver laid slumped(瘫倒) on the wheel. He had
injuries on the head. My sister helped him down from the bus.

第二节(25分)
I told the injured school children to stay calm. Most of them appeared to suffer from minor cuts and bruises on their arms and bodies. It was really fortunate that nobody was badly hurt. By then a few adults had entered the bus and together we instructed the children to come out of the bus slowly. The children were crying and screaming for their parents and we had to hug them to keep them quiet.(66词)
Minutes later, two ambulances arrived. A traffic police car was there too. Two policemen were taking down statements from eye-witnesses. The injured were whisked away to the hospital. My sister and I later gave an account to the police about what had happened. I was late for school. In fact, many drivers were also late for their work. I informed my teacher of the accident and both felt that it could have been prevented if the drivers had been more careful.(76词)
