Newspapers, magazines and sports programs on TV frequently broadcast boxing matches. Professional (专业的) boxers earn a lot of money, and successful boxers are thought as big heroes. When they watch a boxing match, they can identify with the winning boxer, and this gives them the feeling of being a 56 themselves. It is a fact that many people have feeling of aggression from time to time, but they cannot show their aggression in their everyday lives. Watching a boxing match gives them a chance to use up their aggression. 57 , there is a negative side to boxing. It can be a very dangerous sport. Although boxers wear gloves during the fights, and amateur (业余的) boxers 58 have to wear helmets which protects the head, there have frequently been accident in both professional and amateur boxing, sometimes with dramatic results. Boxers have suffered from head injuries, and sometimes, fighters have even been killed as a result of being knocked out in the ring. Furthermore, studies have shown that there are often long-term effects of boxing, in the form of serious brain 59 , even if a boxer has never been knocked out. I am personally not at all in 60 of aggressive sports like boxing. I think it would be better if less time was given to aggressive sports on TV, and we welcomed more men and women from non-aggressive sports as our heroes and heroines in our society. I believe that the world is aggressive enough already! Of course, people like 61 sports, and so do I, but I think that hitting other people in an aggressive way is not something that should be regarded as a sport. 56.A.winner B.viewer C.inspector D.trainer 57.A.First of all B.However C.Thus D.Therefore 58.A.otherwise B.never C.even D.seldom 59.A.loss B.waves C.damage D.disorder 60.A.favour B.process C.charge D.power 61.A.competitive B.quiet C.cooperative D.regular 【答案】 根据“When they watch a boxing match, they can identify with the winning boxer,”可知,此处说的是让他们感觉自己也是胜利者。故选A。 57. First of all首先;However然而;Thus因此;Therefore因此。根据“there is a negative side to boxing.” otherwise否则;never从不;even甚至;seldom很少。根据“Although boxers wear gloves during the fights, and amateur (业余的) boxers…have to wear helmets which protects the head”可知,此处说的是业余拳击手甚至必须戴头盔来保护头部。故选C。 59. 根据“in the form of serious brain…, even if a boxer has never been knocked out.” 故选A。 61. 根据“people like…sports, and so do I”以及上文可知,此处说的是竞技体育。故选A。 Here comes 4 most popular clubs in our school! When they watch a boxing match, they can identify with the winning boxer, and this gives them the feeling of being a 56 themselves. It is a fact that many people have feeling of aggression from time to time, but they cannot show their aggression in their everyday lives.
