Passage A(当传统绘画遇到智能AI)
At first look, it seems to be Johannes Vermeer’s work “Girl with a Pearl Earring”. But a closer look and you may find something different about it. There are two shining earrings and a little unusual shadow (阴影) of red on the girl’s face.
Look strange? It’s actually a picture made by a Dutch designer Julian Van Dieken who used artificial intelligence (AI). Among 3,482 pictures which were created based on Johannes Vermeer’s work, this AI-generated (生成) work was chosen to show, in the Mauritshuis museum in the Netherlands.
“One of the most famous paintings in history is being replaced by one of my AI pictures,” Van Dicken wrote on Instagram. He said that the experience was “crazy” and “unreal”.
However, the AI picture caused wide discussion. Though the press officer (新闻发言人) of the Mauritshuis museum, Boris de Munnick, said that “it’s a nice and creative way of making it”, many people questioned whether it could be called art and be shown in the museum, reported AFP.
Dutch artist Iris Compiet described the picture on show as “something unexpected”, AFP noted. She added that “it’s an insult to the works of Vermeer and also to any working artist. Knowing that it was shown in a museum, I feel that it’s a real slap (掌掴) in the face.”
In fact, this is not the first time people have discussed the use of AI. As Taylor Michael explained, some worry AI art breaks copyright laws (版权法). Artists point out that these tools use their works without permission(允许). Also the increasing use of AI in creative works may do harm to the development of art.

Among 3,482 pictures which were created based on Johannes Vermeer’s work, this AI-generated work was chosen to show in the Mauritshuis museum.
分析:主句: "this AI-generated work was chosen"(被动语态,主语是"work")从句: "which were created..."(定语从句修饰"pictures")短语: "based on..."(过去分词作后置定语)
例句:Among 100 students who took the exam, only 5 were selected for the competition.(在参加考试的100名学生中,只有5人被选中参赛。)

The Yingge dance, also named “Dance of the Heroes”, has a history dating back to the Ming Dynasty. It is a folk art form that mixes opera, dance and martial arts (武术). It is quite popular in Guangdong Province in south China and Puning is home to over 100 Yingge teams. In 2006, Puning Yingge dance was listed as part of China’s national intangible cultural heritage
The Yingge dance usually gets inspiration from The Water Margin, one of China’s Four Great Classical Novels. During major festivals, the sound of Yingge drums fills cities and villages. The dancers wear colorful traditional costumes, put on beautiful facial makeup (化妆) and dance joyfully. When watching the dance, people can always feel the spirit of fighting for the good besides a lively air with energy and youth.

During performances, dancers hold the Yingge sticks at their mid-points, waving them and forming the shape of number 8. At the same time, their fingers create continuous movements. Moreover, each dancer jumps sideways and hits the sticks to the drum beats as if they are riding a horse. Their heads and bodies move naturally to the beat too.

Passage 2(2025·
Taking a great photo is not easy and there are lots of things to consider. How do you choose and organize your subjects within your photo? 1 Here are some tips from the art, design and photography experts.
Find a focus. When taking a picture, ask yourself, “What’s the focus?” If you are taking a picture of a crowded street, choose a subject which draws your eye. 2 If it’s a landscape photo of a field, the focus could be a big tree.
3 It’s a bit boring to put your subject right in the middle. Place it a little on the left or right of your photo. Imagine your photo is divided into a three-by-three grid (网格) of boxes. One of the corners of your central square is where your focus should be.
Create colorful contrasts (对比). Color in a picture is more easily noticed if it has a contrast. 4 They will stand out more if they are taken beside a grey stone wall, or photographed against a bright blue sky.
Try different angles. To add more interest to a photo, try taking it from different angles. This means you need to move around, taking photos from different sides, from above or from below. For example, if you photograph a building from a plane, it looks tiny. But a photo of the same building looking up from the street makes it look huge.
5
Practice makes perfect. Try everything for the perfect shot.
A.It can tell a different story.
B.Remember the rule of thirds.
C.Think about focus, color, light and more.
D.It could be a person wearing bright colors.
E.If you take a picture of yellow flowers, don’t fill your picture with them.

His fine steps and skillful movements make him the focus of the performance.
