To solve these problems, I made a plan. I decided to
practise English every day. I read English articles aloud in
the morning and wrote diaries in English in the evening.
When I made mistakes, I wrote them down and analyzed them
carefully.
With hard work, I have made great progress. Now,I

In 2020,I saw an ad in the Teens paper, calling for young writers to join their
team. Although,I was only ten, I sent an email. To my surprise, I was accepted. That
Yin Peixin time, I had just moved from California to Wuhan and had a hard time fitting in. But
14 years old writing for Teens helped me grow in confidence. Now,I've been a student reporter for
over_____years. I also took part in many worldwide discussions with other student
reporters.
Every time I received a new copy of Teens, I would head straight to the culture
Wang Shuotong pages. The best article I read in 2024 was about celadon porcelain(青花瓷). Itcovered the history of Chinese porcelain. The design of the page was beautiful with a
13 years old
light blue background and a picture of celadon porcelain. Ive safely kept that page of
the newspaper in my collection.
In 2024,my family subscribed(订阅)to two copies of Teens. One is for me at
school, and the other is for my grandfather at home. My grandfather doesn't understand
Wang Hexuan English,so why does he subscribe to the newspaper? When I first joined the Teens
15 years old school reporter team in junior high. I told my grandfather. He was so happy that hesubscribed to the paper to read my articles. I still remember when my first article was on
the front cover. My grandfather carried the newspaper everywhere, proudly showing it to
his friends, saying,“Look, this was written by my granddaughter—all in English!”
In 2024,I continued writing articles for Teens like I did in 2023. But in 2024,I
found a new meaning in the writing process. I call 2023“the year I wrote for Teens”,
Xia Boen and 2024“the year I wrote with Teens”. For example, last summer, I visited
14 years old Jingdezhen and wanted to write a travel article about my experience. I wrote a rough
draft(初稿)that wasn't perfect, but with helpful suggestions from Teens, I finished the
article. It was published, and that gave me a lot of encouragement. After that,I wrote
more articles, improving my skills each time.
(金华期中)When I was 15,I said to my class that I was going to write my own books. All the students
nearly fellout of their chairs, laughing at me.“Don't be silly. Only geniuses(天才)can become writers.
And you are getting a D this term," they said. I was deeply hurt and I couldn't help crying. That night I
wrote a short, sad poem about my broken dream and mailed it to the Weekly Newspaper.
To my surprise, they published it,and sent me two dollars. I was a paid writer! I showed it to my
classmates. They laughed again.“Just luck,” they said. However, I had tasted the joy of success because
my first poem was published.
By the time I finished high school, I had collected all my published works together. But I never talked
about my writing dream to my classmates again. I just kept on my dream by myself and kept writing.
Later, I wrote a book about how I understood and felt about my life. It took me nine months to finish it.
chose a publisher and mailed my book.
A month later, I received a letter, with an invitation for publishing the book. It came out in 15
languages and became a bestseller(畅销书).People often ask what college I studied in and what degrees I
have got. The answer is none. I just write. I'm not a genius and I'′m not talented. I just write. To all those
who dream of being a writer, I should say,“Yes,you can be writers. Always keep writing!”
( )5.What was the writer's dream when he was 15 years old?
A.To make much money. B.To become a publisher.
C.To write his own books. D.To translate books into different languages.
( )6.When the writer told his classmates his dream, what did they do?
A.They said nothing. B. They laughed at him.
C.They encouraged him. D.They offered to help him.
( )7.What do we know about the writer from the passage?
A.He gave up his writing dream. B.His book was not very popular.
C.He became a successful writer. D.He kept sharing his dream with others.
( )1.According to the passage,what's Teens?
A.A novel. B.A poster. C.A website. D.A newspaper.
( )8.What is the best title for the passage?
A.The importance of writing
B.Never share ideas with others
C.Trying to get on with others
D.From dreams to reality—a writer's journey
