Ne Zha 2 has become really popular since it came out. The cool pictures, interesting story, and deep ideas in the movie attracted lots of people. This new cartoon, based on old Chinese stories, was a big success and got people talking.
The movie changed how we see heroes. Ne Zha was born as a demon (妖魔). The boy is playful and always makes trouble. Many people don’t like him. However, this “bad” child has a good heart and is always ready to protect his family, friends, and hometown, especially the weak. He is a true hero.
Ne Zha 2 not only touches on the theme of hero but also makes us think about friendship and family relationships. At first, Ne Zha and Ao Bing are enemies (敌人), but they soon realize that teamwork matters more than labels like “good” or “evil”. Neither of them is perfect. Ne Zha is impatient, and Ao Bing isn’t confident, but they encourage (鼓励) us to be brave. Even though they are opposite in many ways, they managed to become best friends and fight side by side. The movie also gets deep into family relationships. Ne Zha’s parents never stop loving him, even when he makes mistakes. But Ao Bing’s family asks him to be perfect, which hurts him. Ao Bing’s question “Why can’t I choose my life?” makes us consider how parents should support their children. Controlling them all the time is incorrect.
Moreover, the movie Ne Zha 2 shows the theme of self-value. Ne Zha’s words “My fate is mine to shape” reminds us that although we can’t choose our birth, looks, or talents, we have the power to decide what kind of person we want to be. By staying kind, being brave, and always choosing to do the right thing, all of us can be heroes in our own way.
26 Which theme of the movie does Paragraph 2 mainly talk about?
A. Hero. B. Self-value. C. Friendship. D. Family.
27. In the writer’s opinion, how do Ne Zha’s parents treat him?
A. They ask him to be perfect. B. They lose patience with him.
C. They control him all the time. D. They always love and support him.
28. Ne Zha’s words “My fate is mine to shape” means we should ______.
A. realize the importance of teamwork
B. try to be a hero when facing difficulties
C. choose what kind of person we want to be
D. always ask for others’ help to improve our situation
B
If someone asks me, “What’s your superpower?” I’ll proudly reply, “Reading” Reading is like a magical key that unlocks countless doors to unknown worlds. Whenever I open a book, it’s as if I step into a time- machine. I can journey back to ancient Egypt to feel the great power of huge stones. I can also solve mysteries (谜团) in foggy cities, or chat with robots in the distant future.
My reading journey began with picture books. I still remember following the colorful illustrations (插图) in an old folktale collection with my tiny fingers. Now, I sometimes lose myself in thick novels. Last month, I stayed up late finishing a story about courage and kindness. The main character’s journey made me laugh and cry, teaching me that true beauty lies in kindness.
Different books give me different super suits. Science books are my astronaut (宇航员) helmet (头盔), sending me into space to see amazing stars. Biographies (传记) become time machines, letting me walk alongside great people in the past. Poetry turns into musical notes, dancing in my heart.
Our school library started a reading- sharing program this year. Every week, we recommend books to classmates. I once suggested a classic tale about friendship to a classmate who disliked reading. To my surprise, he now carries it everywhere, saying, “This story has changed my view on how to get along with others”
A teacher once told me that books are bridges connecting hearts across centuries. I finally understand. When I read timeless beautiful words, I’m whispering with thinkers from the past. How amazing So, put down your screens, pick up a book, and let’s begin our next exciting journey between the pages

A. Have robots solve mysteries. B. Step into well- known worlds.
C. Imagine different places and situations. D. Lift the powerful huge stones.

A. Books can be used to build bridges across time.
B. Bridges and books are both important for people’s daily life.
C. Books are made of materials that can last for centuries like bridges.
D. Through reading, people can communicate with great minds from different times.
31. What is the purpose of this article?
A. To explain how reading makes a difference to our minds.
B. To prove that thick novels are more attractive than picture books.
C. To encourage readers to pick up books and experience the charm of reading.
D. To advise more students to take an active part in the school reading-sharing program.
C
In a quiet corner of the small town, Nels’ family lived. Mr. Hyde rented a room in their house. Mr. Hyde was really knowledgeable. He not only offered Nels advice on his high-school courses but also helped him with Latin. With Mr. Hyde’s help, Nels became interested in learning, and his grades improved a lot.
After the children finished their schoolwork each day and mama sat in the chair mending clothes, Mr. Hyde would tell them stories of his travels and adventures. He had studied at Oxford and sailed around the world. His stories made history and geography come alive, as if they could be touched around the room. After sharing several works by Dickens, Mr. Hyde introduced Shakespeare to the children. His deep and pleasant voice was just like a great actor’s.
When the warm weather arrived, the children no longer asked to go out and play in the evenings. Best of all, Nels went to the street corner less and less with the neighborhood boys, as he was eager to hear the next chapter of Dombey and Son.
One day, after receiving a letter, Mr. Hyde told Mama that he must go. He also left a check (支票) and a great many books. Mama was delighted at the sight of the check. She immediately thought of the coat she had been dreaming of. However, just as she was daydreaming about her new coat, Uncle Bob rushed in, who just returned from the bank, “That man Hyde cheated us He gave you an invalid check” he shouted full of anger. “The bank told me he’s taken all his money and disappeared!”
Mama was speechless for a moment. But then, she walked over to Nels, who was looking at her with a mix of shock and worry. “Nels,” she said gently, “read to us from Ivanhoe.” She took the worthless check from Uncle Bob, walked to the stove and calmly put it into the fire.
As Nels began to read, his voice filled the room. Mama sat back, listening peacefully. In that moment, it was clear that for her, the value of the knowledge shared, the love of learning grown in her children and the books left by Mr. Hyde were far more important than any amount of money.
—Adapted from Mama’s bank account
32. What does the underlined word “they” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A. stones B. children C. Mr. Hyde and Mama D. history and geography
33. Why didn’t the children want to go out to play in the evenings when the warm weather came?
A. They were too busy with their schoolwork.
B. They were afraid of getting into trouble outside.

D. They were more interested in listening to Mr. Hyde.

Travel company Booking.com has shared their 2025 travel trends (趋势) predictions. These trends show more and more people want to find meaningful experiences from each trip.
Enjoyment after the sunset
Nocturism comes from the words “nocturnal” and “tourism”. It means happening at night. So, this trend is all about the beauty of traveling at night. Travelers would like to take part in activities like stargazing (观星). With the global (全球) warming, many people find it uncomfortable to go out during the day, especially in summer. They enjoy going to places to do fun activities in the cooler evenings. Though most activities have something to do with the night sky, we can still choose many other activities on the ground, such as city tours at night and full moon picnics by the sea.
Passports for a longer life
Trying to live forever is totally impossible. But our interest in living longer and healthier still stays strong. In 2025, more people will plan their trips with activities that help them live longer, according to Booking.com. For example, more people will visit places that offer light therapy (疗法). The therapy uses red light to help make skin look better. Studies show that being with others makes people healthier, so many travel places have group hikes. In the future, travel won’t just be about having fun. People will also care more about staying healthy.
Less well- known sites
Going a different way and finding cool places can be fun. Have you heard of detour travel? It means going to smaller, less famous places close to the main sites and spending time there. For example, in China, the city of Foshan is a popular detour from Guangzhou, as is Xianyang from Xi’an. In Europe, train travel makes taking detours easy. This is because once you look up information in the train timetable, you find there are so many interesting little stops you could take.

A survey was carried out among students in our school about how we spend the 15-minute break. Here’s the result.
Half of the students prefer to chat with friends, sharing travel experiences and talking about their hometowns. Reading interesting books is the second most popular activity, with 25% of students choosing it. Resting and relaxing is also a common choice. 15% of the students either have some snacks or do some DIYs. Lastly, 10% of students do simple exercise.
Personally, I usually chat with my friends during the break. It helps me relax and feel refreshed. It’s also a chance to learn about different cultures and places through travel stories. Sometimes, I also read interesting books to expand my knowledge and imagination.
Overall, these activities make my break enjoyable and meaningful. They help me continue my study.
