①Chinese calligraphy (书法) was once considered an important part of the school curriculum (课程). However, for many reasons, some people think it’s less important to teach this art form at school now. In this article, I will look at both the pros and cons of learning Chinese calligraphy at school.
②One reason why Chinese calligraphy should be learned at school is that it is an important form of culture expression. Clearly, it is not just about practicing handwriting. It is also about connecting with a traditional Chinese art form. When students learn this art in class, they will become more interested in the works of famous Chinese artists.
③Another reason is that it may help students to develop patience. At the times of high technology, students are getting less patient for traditional classroom learning. By introducing Chinese calligraphy into the classroom, students’ patience can be improved because they have to practice focusing on each brush movement.
④From the above, it can be seen that there are clear advantages. However, others think there are some disadvantages. The first one is that it has little to do with students’ life. Living in a modern age, pens and paper will lose their importance by and by. So, wouldn’t it be a backward (倒退的) step if students were asked to spend their valuable time at school learning Chinese calligraphy?
⑤The second argument against learning Chinese calligraphy at school is that it takes a long time to master. The time at school is better spent on more important subjects. After all, learning Chinese calligraphy can always be done as an after-school activity if students are really interested in it.
⑥In my opinion, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. This special art form is one of China’s national treasures. It also helps to enrich students’ life and improve their sense of beauty. So without doubt, it is worth being included in the school curriculum.
16.Which of the following is the structure of the passage?
A. B.
C. D.
17.What can we learn from the passage?
A.High technology can help students become more patient.
B.Students should spend more time on after-school activities.
C.Learning Chinese calligraphy gets more popular in the modern age.
D.Students may like art works better after learning Chinese calligraphy.
18.What does the writer probably think of learning Chinese calligraphy?
A.Important and necessary. B.Valuable but backward.
C.Popular and interesting. D.Meaningful but boring.

When winter arrived, the porcupine (豪猪) looked for somewhere nice and warm to live. He ran into the woods, looking around for a place.
First, be came to a fallen tree trunk.
“This looks like a suitable place!” he said, spying a hole in its side.
But when he poked his head (探头) in, he heard “You can’t stay here. It’s our home, and breakfast lunch and dinner!” said hundreds of tiny termites (白蚁). The porcupine apologized and backed away.
“Now where can I go?” he wondered.
Then he found a space under a thick bush that seemed to be protected from the wind, so he tried crawling (爬) in there.
“Hey!” hissed the lynx (猞猁), showing her sharp paws. “This is my place, and don’t you forget it!” The porcupine went away in a hurry-he didn’t want any trouble. The poor porcupine was really getting worried, “I might freeze if I don’t find somewhere to stay soon!” he said, his teeth chattering.
A snake overheard the porcupine and felt sorry for him. She poked her head out of her hole and said. “Would you like to stay in here with me? My burrow (洞穴) is quite small, but I’m sure we can both fit!”
The porcupine was ever so thankful! He pushed his way into the snake’s narrow home. “This is so nice!” he said. “How kind of you to let me in!”

Twist and turn as she might, she was always getting hurt by the porcupine’s spines (刺)...

The porcupine was feeling just as upset. When morning came, he cleared his throat and said. “I’m sorry that things are so uncomfortable, especially as you have been so kind. I think I have an idea, if you agree!”

As the snake watched in wonder, the porcupine dug out an extra room that was just the right size for him.
“There you are!” he said in a satisfied voice. “Now there is plenty of room for both of us!”
The snake and the porcupine shared that burrow all winter. It was warmer with the two of them in it, and there was enough space for both animals to sleep comfortably.
The snake enjoyed the stores the porcupine told and the porcupine was impressed by the snake’s skills at finding food. Their unlikely friendship made winter less lonely for both of them.

Chinese chess, also known as xiangqi, is a traditional board game that has been enjoyed for centuries. It is a two-player game played on a board. It is believed that xiangqi first appeared in the Warring States Period (战国时期). It was developed rapidly during the Song Dynasty. And lots of people played xiangqi during the Ming Dynasty.

For two long years, I lived the life of a slave. I wanted to run away, but it was never possible. My master liked to go fishing in a little boat, and he always took me with him. A man called Moely, and a young boy also went with us.
One day my master said to us, “Some of my friends want to go fishing tomorrow. Get the boat ready.” So we put much food and drink on the boat, and the next morning, we waited for my master and his friends. But when my master arrived, he was alone.
“My friends don’t want to go fishing today,” he said to me, “But you go with Moely and the boy, and catch some fish for our supper tonight.”
“Yes, master,” I answered quickly, but inside I was excited, my chance came!
We took the boat out to sea. For a time, we fished quietly, and then I moved carefully behind Moely and knocked him into the water. “Swim!” I cried. “Swim to the beach!”
My master liked to shoot seabirds and so there were guns on the boat. Quickly, I took one of these guns. Moely was swimming after the boat and I shouted at him, “Go back to the shore, or I’ll shoot you through the head!” So Moely turned and swam back to the shore as quickly as possible.
Then I said to the boy, “Xury, if you help me, I’ll be a good friend to you. If you don’t help me, I’ll push you into the sea, too.”
But Xury was happy to help me. “I’ll go all over the world with you,” he cried.
I wanted to sail to the Canary Islands, but I was afraid to go too far from the shore. And so we sailed on south for some days. We had very little water, and it was a dangerous country here, with many wild animals. Once I used a gun to shoot a wild animal. I didn’t know what animal it was, but it made a good meal.
Later we managed to get more food and water, and we sailed on. Eleven days later we came near the Cape Verde Islands. Suddenly Xury saw a ship, we called and shouted and sailed our little boat as fast as possible. But the ship didn’t see us. Then I remembered the gun which made lots of smoke. Luckily, the ship saw us and turned.
The Portuguese captain listened to my story. He was going to Brazil and agreed to help me. He bought my boat and for Xury, too. At first, I didn’t want to sell Xury as a slave, after all our dangerous adventures together. But Xury was happy to go to the captain and the captain was a good man. “In ten years’ time”, he said, “Xury can go free.”

第二部分 笔试部分
二、阅读理解(共15小题,每小题2分,满分30分)
阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中选出最佳选项。
A
①Chinese calligraphy (书法) was once considered an important part of the school curriculum (课程).

However, when the snake tried to get to sleep. she found it impossible to get into a comfortable position.
Twist and turn as she might, she was always getting hurt by the porcupine’s spines (刺)...
“Can you move over a bit?” she asked. The porcupine tried, but it didn’t help! They both spent an uneasy night in the little burrow and hardly slept at all! “I really wanted to help the poor porcupine,” the snake thought, “but I wish I’d never invited him in.”
The porcupine was feeling just as upset. When morning came, he cleared his throat and said. “I’m sorry that things are so uncomfortable, especially as you have been so kind. I think I have an idea, if you agree!”
The snake was still painful and tired from her sleepless night, so she just nodded. With his paws, the porcupine began scratching (创) at the hole’s walls.

When we arrived in Brazil three weeks later, I said goodbye to the captain and Xury, left the ship, and went to begin a new life.
27.What kind of "chance" came to me in paragraph 4?
A.I might go fishing B.I might be free
C.I might sail on the sea D.I might go to find the captain
28.Which of the following is true about the Portuguese captain?
A.He took the writer to Brazil. B.He disagreed to accept Xury.

a. I used a gun and shot a wild animal.
b. I wanted to sail to the Canary Islands.

30.What can we infer from the passage?
A.The captain became Xury’s new master. B.I was pleased with my life of a slave.
C.There was only one gun on the ship. D.Moely wasn’t good at swimming at all.
【答案】27.B 28.A 29.D 30.A
根据第一段“For two long years, I lived the life of a slave. I wanted to run away, but it was never possible.”和第三段“‘My friends don’t want to go fishing today,’ he said to me, ‘But you go with Moely and the boy, and catch some fish for our supper tonight.’”
根据“The Portuguese captain listened to my story. He was going to Brazil and agreed to help me.”可知,葡萄牙船长要去巴西并且同意帮助作者,所以他带着作者去了巴西。故选A。
29.推理判断题。通读文章可知,文章先后顺序为:c.“So we put much food and drink on the boat”,这是主人让作者准备船去钓鱼时作者做的事,是故事的开端,排在首位;e.“Quickly, I took one of these guns. Moely was swimming after the boat and I shouted at him, ‘Go back to the shore, or I’ll shoot you through the head!’ So Moely turned and swam back to the shore as quickly as possible.”,这是作者在船上摆脱 Moely 的过程,排在 c 之后;b.“I wanted to sail to the Canary Islands, but I was afraid to go too far from the shore.”,这是作者摆脱 Moely 后对航行目的地的想法,排在 e 之后;a.“Once I used a gun to shoot a wild animal.”,这是在航行过程中发生的事情,排在 b 之后;d. “Suddenly Xury saw a ship, we called and shouted and sailed our little boat as fast as possible.”,这是在航行途中看到船后的行动,排在 a 之后。所以正确的顺序是 c-e-b-a-d。故选D。
30.推理判断题。根据“He bought my boat and for Xury, too. At first, I didn’t want to sell Xury as a slave, after all our dangerous adventures together. But Xury was happy to go to the captain and the captain was a good man. ‘In ten years’ time’, he said, ‘Xury can go free.’”可推断,船长购买了 Xury,虽然船长承诺十年后 Xury 可以获得自由,但目前来看船长成为了 Xury 的新主人。故选A。

My classmates and I warmly welcome the policy that the break time is extended from 10 minutes to 15 minutes. It gives us more time to relax and do outdoor activities. We think it’s a very humane and beneficial policy for all of the students.
After the break time is extended, we actively use the precious 15 minutes. Some students choose to go out of the classroom, walk and chat on the playground, and enjoy the sunshine. Some students do some light sports, such as skipping rope and playing shuttlecock, which not only exercise the body but also relieve the fatigue caused by long-term classes. We also use this time to exchange learning experience with classmates and develop our friendship. These activities not only make us relaxed after tense study, but also enhance our physical quality, improve learning efficiency and make us put into the next study with more energy.

“There you are!” he said in a satisfied voice. “Now there is plenty of room for both of us!”

The snake enjoyed the stores the porcupine told and the porcupine was impressed by the snake’s skills at finding food. Their unlikely friendship made winter less lonely for both of them.
