Kid Reporter Rusty Smith SIK: Why do you think you were chosen to be the captain of the Bruins? BM: I think I was chosen to be a captain for the Bruins because we have a very unique culture around here. We have had some incredible leaders in the past, and there are very high expectations. I think we also could have had multiple guys that could have been a captain this year. I am very, very excited and fortunate to be named captain. SIK: Were you a leader as a kid? BM: I was a leader at times. There were times when I thought I could have been a better leader. I learned how to be a leader, really, the last 10 years because I have had incredible leaders around me, and I really wanted to learn from them. I became a much better leader as I got older. SIK: Who is your favourite leader outside of the Bruins? BM: Sid Crosby is a great leader. I played with him a short time and I’ve known him for a long time now. He is an incredible leader. Jonathan Toews was probably the most prepared leader at a young age that I have seen. He came in as a captain very young in his career. I was very impressed with how great of a leader he was. SIK: What advice do you have for kids who want to be a leader? BM: It is very easy to get caught up in being shy or being nervous or trying to be cool within groups of people. Always be cautious about doing the right thing. I think a big thing is to make sure that you are always doing the right thing, helping people out regardless of whether your friends think it’s cool or not. You always want to be there to stand up for people that can’t stand up for themselves. 21. What does BM feel about himself as a leader? A. Confident. B. Stressful. C. Disappointed. D. Incompetent. 22. What do we know about Jonathan Toews? A. He once played with BM. B. He has learnt from BM. C. He is the most successful player. D. He became a leader at a young age. 23. What advice does BM give kids if they want to be a team leader? A. Stand up while your team are playing. B. Support your players. C. Be careful about anything. D. Try to be right and cool. 根据文章中BM所说 “I am very, very excited and fortunate to be named captain.(我非常非常兴奋且幸运能被任命为队长)”,可以推断出他对自己作为领导者是充满自信的。故选A。 根据文章 “Jonathan Toews was probably the most prepared leader at a young age that I have seen. He came in as a captain very young in his career.(乔纳森・托伊兹可能是我见过的在年轻时就准备最充分的领导者。他在职业生涯很年轻的时候就成为了队长)” 可知,乔纳森・托伊兹在很年轻的时候就成为了领导者。故选D。 【23题详解】 细节理解题。根据文章中BM给想成为领导者的孩子们的建议“I think a big thing is to make sure that you are always doing the right thing, helping people out regardless of whether your friends think it’s cool or not. You always want to be there to stand up for people that can't stand up for themselves.(我认为重要的是要确保你总是在做正确的事情,不管你的朋友认为这很酷或不酷,都要帮助别人。你要始终支持那些无法为自己挺身而出的人)” 可知,他建议孩子们要支持团队成员。故选B。 B Sandesh Kadur, a National Geographic Explorer, has spent 25 years documenting rare wildlife, transforming his childhood passion into a mission to protect Earth’s fragile ecosystems. When he was young, Kadur was fascinated by Jim Corbett’s tales of big cats. Inspired, he once cycled into the jungle with a friend to observe big cats at a watering hole. At night, they really saw a big cat. Bathed in moonlight, he realized his life’s goal: to capture and share nature’s wonders. At 12, he borrowed his father’s camera — a “magic box” that froze time. His father, an entomologist(昆虫学家), got him looking at the small things. So he began intentionally focusing his lens on small insects, trying to understand what he was looking at. He would develop the camera film weeks later, annotating(注释)the settings and reattempting the shots. As he grew older, his love for nature, however, conflicted with academics. Failing high school, he moved to Brownsville, Texas to study hotel management — a choice that unexpectedly refueled his love for storytelling. In Brownsville, Kadur explored Mexico’s cloud forests and landed a job as a jungle tour guide. There, he met filmmaker John Bax, who introduced him to documentary work. When they embarked on a documentary project together, Bax withdrew from it. Kadur, then 19 and untrained in film, pursued the project on his own. He spent three years filming India’s Western Ghats, capturing species like the “smoke cat” for the first time. His debut film, Sahyadris: Mountains of the Monsoon, brought the Western Ghats’ biodiversity into attention, aiding its 2012 UNESCO World Heritage status. Through visual storytelling, Kadur offers his audiences glimpses into a rarely-seen natural world, urging them to protect its delicate inhabitants. “Visual art has conveyed stories for millennia. Now we’re doing that with technology, and it will continue to advance.” said Kadur, “I think the impact of storytelling can last a lifetime. It can last generations.” 24. What led Kadur into nature? A. Fever for big cats. B. Love for adventure. C. Curiosity about filming. D. Fascination with Jim’s tales. 25. What was his father’s influence on him? A. Teaching him photography skills. B. Introducing him to documentary work. C. Helping him regain love for storytelling. D. Arousing his curiosity about scientific details. 26. What is Kadur’s opinion about visual storytelling? A. It well entertains audiences. B. It serves as a bridge for nature. C. Its value lies in expression skills. D. Its impact depends on technology. 27. Which of the following words can best describe Kadur? A. Passionate and dedicated. B. Talented and ambitious. C. Independent and committed. D. Responsible and generous. D 25. D 26. B 27. 根据第二段“When he was young, Kadur was fascinated by Jim Corbett’s tales of big cats. Inspired, he once cycled into the jungle with a friend to observe big cats at a watering hole. At night, they really saw a big cat. Bathed in moonlight, he realized his life’s goal: to capture and share nature’s wonders.(小时候,Kadur就被吉姆·科贝特关于大型猫科动物的故事所吸引。受此启发,他曾和一位朋友骑自行车进入丛林,在水潭边观察大型猫科动物。晚上,他们真的看到了一只大猫。沐浴在月光下,他意识到自己的人生目标:捕捉并分享大自然的奇观)”可知,是吉姆的故事让Kadur投身于大自然。故选D。 【25题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“At 12, he borrowed his father’s camera — a “magic box” that froze time. His father, an entomologist (昆虫学家), got him looking at the small things. So he began intentionally focusing his lens on small insects, trying to understand what he was looking at.(12岁时,他借用了父亲的相机——一个能定格时间的“魔盒”。他的父亲是一位昆虫学家,让他开始关注小事物。于是,他开始有意识地将镜头对准小昆虫,试图理解他所看到的东西)”可知,Kadur的父亲是昆虫学家,父亲让Kadur开始关注小事物,这激发了他对科学细节的好奇心。故选D。 【26题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Through visual storytelling, Kadur offers his audiences glimpses into a rarely-seen natural world, urging them to protect its delicate inhabitants.(通过视觉讲故事,Kadur让观众一窥鲜为人知的自然世界,敦促他们保护其中脆弱的生物)”可知,Kadur认为视觉讲故事是大自然与人类之间的桥梁。 根据第一段“Sandesh Kadur, a National Geographic Explorer, has spent 25 years documenting rare wildlife, transforming his childhood passion into a mission to protect Earth’s fragile ecosystems.(《国家地理》探险家Sandesh Kadur用25年时间记录珍稀野生动物,将童年的热爱转化为保护地球脆弱生态系统的使命)”和第四段中“Kadur, then 19 and untrained in film, pursued the project on his own. He spent three years filming India’s Western Ghats, capturing species like the ‘smoke cat’ for the first time. His debut film, Sahyadris: Mountains of the Monsoon, brought the Western Ghats’ biodiversity into attention, aiding its 2012 UNESCO World Heritage status.(当时19岁且没有接受过电影方面专业训练的卡杜尔独自推进了这个项目。他花了三年时间拍摄印度的西高止山脉,首次捕捉到了像“云猫”这样的物种。他的首部电影《西高止山:季风之山》让人们关注到了西高止山脉的生物多样性,助力其在2012年获得了联合国教科文组织世界遗产的地位)”可知,Kadur是一个充满热情和专注的人。故选A。 C 3D printing, a technology that creates objects layer by layer, has revolutionized the way we make things. Recently, a group of Chinese scientists took things a step further by using this technology to create realistic replicas of human organs. Human organs have various textures (质地) with our bones being the hardest and the brains being the softest, which made it demanding to create a single material that could print different human organs previously. The research team from the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences started by using hydrogel (水凝胶), a soft gel-like material as the main ingredient. To replicate the hardness of material like bone, the researchers added elements containing metal to the hydrogel and adjusted their ratio to create the texture of each organ. However, the structure inside human organs is also incredibly complicated with many interweaving channels. To make sure the printing results are correct, the team used light-curing (光固化) technology in the 3D printing process. A special lamp was placed under the printing machine, causing the gel to become solid right after it was printed. According to the team’s paper published in the journal Advanced Functional Materials, they were able to produce organ models including the brain, lungs, and intestines (肠), which are essential for research purposes, such as testing medical equipment and demonstrating surgeries. Compared to live organs and animal models, these are also ethically acceptable since they are printed artificially. They can help researchers develop new treatments more efficiently, due to their lower relative cost, commented the Alliance of Advanced Biomedical Engineering website. However, they usually cannot be used as transplants, because human cells are likely to recognize them as “enemies” and start to fight against them. What scientists have been exploring in “printing” the organs is bioprinting: using 3D printing technology to build up various types of cells and materials layer by layer. This way, the printed product will be more acceptable to grow inside the human body. However, this method is still developing, and experts are hoping it will be used in the medical field within a decade, according to CNN. 28. What made it challenging to print human organs formerly? A. The complexity of human organs. B. The high cost of printing materials. C. The difficulty in creating various materials. D. The lack of appropriate printing technology. 29. What is a benefit of 3D organ models according to the article? A. They can fully replace animal testing. B. They can be used to test surgical tools. C. They work even better than live organs. D. They are easily made and relatively affordable. 30. What does the underlined word “they” in the last paragraph refer to? A. Efficient new treatments. B. The objects created layer by layer. C. Various textures of human organs. D. The organ models created with hydrogel. 31. What is a suitable title for the text? A. Hydrogel — The Innovative Material Used for Printing Human Organs B. 3D Printing — The Most Advanced Technology in Creating Realistic Objects C. A Breakthrough — Producing Lifelike Copies of Human Organs by 3D Printing D. Bioprinting — Making Organ Models Acceptable to Grow Inside the Human Body 【答案】28. A 29. B 30. D 31. 根据第二段中的“Human organs have various textures (质地) with our bones being the hardest and the brains being the softest, which made it demanding to create a single material that could print different human organs previously.(人体器官有各种不同的质地,骨头是最硬的,大脑是最软的,这使得以前很难创造出一种能打印不同人体器官的单一材料。)”以及“However, the structure inside human organs is also incredibly complicated with many interweaving channels.(然而,人体器官内部的结构也极其复杂,有许多相互交织的通道。)” 故选A项。 根据第三段中的“According to the team’s paper published in the journal Advanced Functional Materials, they were able to produce organ models including the brain, lungs, and intestines (肠), which are essential for research purposes, such as testing medical equipment and demonstrating surgeries.(根据该团队发表在《先进功能材料》杂志上的论文,他们能够制作包括大脑、肺和肠道在内的器官模型,这些模型对于研究目的至关重要,例如测试医疗设备和演示手术。)” 根据第三段中的“According to the team’s paper published in the journal Advanced Functional Materials, they were able to produce organ models including the brain, lungs, and intestines (肠), which are essential for research purposes, such as testing medical equipment and demonstrating surgeries.(根据该团队发表在《先进功能材料》杂志上的论文,他们能够制作包括大脑、肺和肠道在内的器官模型,这些模型对于研究目的至关重要,例如测试医疗设备和演示手术。)”可知,划线代词they指代上文提到的器官模型;结合第二段中“The research team from the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences started by using hydrogel (水凝胶), a soft gel-like material as the main ingredient.(来自中国科学院兰州化学物理研究所的研究小组首先使用水凝胶(一种柔软的凝胶状材料)作为主要成分。)” 根据第一段中的“3D printing, a technology that creates objects layer by layer, has revolutionized the way we make things. Recently, a group of Chinese scientists took things a step further by using this technology to create realistic replicas of human organs. Has anyone ever told you, “Stand up straight!” or scolded you for sitting lazily at a family dinner? These stresses can be things like carrying weight, or sitting in an awkward position. ____33____ If your posture isn’t good enough, your muscles have to work harder to keep you upright and balanced. Some muscles will become tight and inflexible. ____34____ It increases the likelihood of accidents, and makes some organs, like your lungs, less efficient. So what does good posture look like? If you’re sitting, your neck should be vertical, not tilted forward. Your shoulders should be relaxed with your arms close to your trunk. Your knees should be at a right angle with your feet flat on the floor. But what if your posture can’t be that great? ____35____ For example, adjust your screen so it’s at or slightly below eye level. Make sure all parts of your body, like your elbows and wrists, are supported. It’s also not enough to just have good posture. Keeping your muscles and joints moving is extremely important. In fact, being still for long periods with good posture can be worse than regular movement with bad posture. ____36____ And be sure to exercise. Using your muscles will keep them strong enough to support you effectively, on top of all the other benefits to your joints, bones, brain and heart. A. Try redesigning your environment. B. You adjust your body unless you feel tired. C. So if you sit a lot, get up and move around on occasion. D. And the big one that we all experience every day is gravity. E. Besides, poor posture leads to extra wear and tear on your joints. F. Posture can even influence your emotional state and your sensitivity to pain. G. Your posture refers to the way you hold your body when you’re sitting or standing. G 33. D 34. E 35. A 36. 【32题详解】 根据空后“It is the foundation for every movement your body makes, and can determine how well your body adapts to the stresses on it.(它是你身体所有动作的基础,并且能决定你的身体对压力的适应程度。)” 【33题详解】 根据空前“These stresses can be things like carrying weight, or sitting in an awkward position.(这些压力可以是负重或坐在一个不舒服的位置。)” 【34题详解】 根据空前“Some muscles will become tight and inflexible.(一些肌肉会变得紧,变得僵硬。)” 【35题详解】 根据空前“But what if your posture can’t be that great?(但是,如果你的姿势不可能那么好呢?)”和空后“For example, adjust your screen so it’s at or slightly below eye level. Make sure all parts of your body, like your elbows and wrists, are supported.(例如,调整屏幕,使其处于或略低于眼镜水平。确保你的身体的所有部位,如肘部和手腕,都得到支撑。)”可知,空前提出问题,空后举例说明要调整屏幕,故A项“试着重新调整你的环境”符合,如果姿势不能那么好,那就选择调整环境你,故选A项。 【36题详解】 根据空前“In fact, being still for long periods with good posture can be worse than regular movement with bad posture.(事实上,以良好的姿势长时间静止可能比以不良姿势进行有规律的运动更糟糕。)” Simba was a gift to the DaLuca family in Florida. He planned to spend two days on his own, finding a route he would eventually use to climb Mount Doggie Dowler. His wife Jenifer didn't like the sound of her husband's latest plan. She was used to Dowler going on adventures by himself, but this time he'd boat to an unknown bay, bike an unpopulated road , hike through grizzly bear country, and camp overnights alone. There was too much room for disaster. The night before his journey Colin packed the necessities. He filled the remaining pockets of his bag with a handheld GPS, hiking poles, his homemade sausage, and a few other essentials. Instead of his usual Swiss Army knife, he took a three-inch stainless steel pocket knife given to him by his dad. The weather that Sunday, July 28 was nice. Colin pulled his car into the Campbell River port and quickly launched and set off in his motorboat with a mountain bike on board. About eight o'clock in the morning, he arrived at Ramsay Arm, and found a spot to tie the boat near a logging (伐木)camp where he chatted with some logging workers. One of the workers , Vito, gave him a ride in his truck until the forest got too thick. Colin took off his bike and backpack from the truck and started his hiking and route searching. In order not to lose the way back, he marked his trail with blue ribbons (布条). As he made his seven-kilometer marker, he came around a bend and suddenly put on the brakes—a dirty grizzly bear stood right in the middle of the narrow road, 30 meters away. Colin calculated his chances of turning around for a quick escape, but the bear could easily catch up and stop him before he picked up speed. The bear suddenly stood up in a threatening way. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ After what seemed like hours, Colin came to himself. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】One possible version Paragraph 1: The bear suddenly stood up in a threatening way. Meanwhile, Colin threw the sausages in his backpack towards the bear, hoping the flavor would attract it. Unfortunately, the bear rushed to him. Colin was pushed to the ground and bit in the left leg. “Ah!” he screamed with the unbearable pain. Blood flowing out, Colin suddenly remembered the knife in his pocket. He stabbed the bear’s neck as fast and strong as possible. The bear roared with pain and ran away. Losing much blood, Colin lost his consciousness afterwards. Paragraph 2: After what seemed like hours, Colin came to himself. He found himself surrounded by the logging workers in the camp. He was being cared for by a doctor. It was Vito who saved Colin. When he drove back, he spotted the bleeding bear and sensed that something terrible must have happened. With the blue ribbons leading his way, he finally found Colin. “You are so lucky, Colin.Without being noticed, you could have been killed for loss of blood. God help those who help themselves.” said the doctor. 词汇激活 行为类 ①搏斗:struggle with the bear/fight the bear/ be pushed to the ground ②.负伤:be injured /be hurt/be bit ③.获救:be saved/be cared for/ be rescued 情绪类 ①.不幸:unfortunately /unluckily ②.幸运:so lucky /good fortune 【点睛】 [高分句型1]. 22 What do we know about Jonathan Toews? B Sandesh Kadur, a National Geographic Explorer, has spent 25 years documenting rare wildlife, transforming his childhood passion into a mission to protect Earth’s fragile ecosystems. C 3D printing, a technology that creates objects layer by layer, has revolutionized the way we make things. B The objects created layer by layer. Bioprinting — Making Organ Models Acceptable to Grow Inside the Human Body Has anyone ever told you, “Stand up straight!” or scolded you for sitting lazily at a family dinner? _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $$听力考试正式开始。 How about this spicy fish?
