知识点讲解
1. Down the rabbit hole 《掉进兔子洞》
这里down是介词,意思是“向下,往下”。down用作介词还可以表示“沿着,顺着”,相当于along。
2. One sunny day, Alice and her sister sat by a river
晴朗的一天,爱丽丝和她的姐姐坐在河边。
She looked up and saw a white rabbit in a coat passing by.
她抬起头,看见一只穿着外套的白兔从旁边经过。
(1) by的意思及用法
A. prep. 在……旁边,靠近
pass sb. sth. = pass sth. to sb. 递给某人某物
3. The rabbit took a watch out of its pocket and looked at the time.
那个兔子从口袋里拿出一块手表看了看时间。
(1) take … out of … 从……拿出……
e.g. Daniel took a piece of bread out of his bag.
丹尼从他的包里拿出一片面包。
(2) look at 看(强调动作)
e.g. Don't look at me like that.
别这样看着我。

感叹句型:How+形容词/副词(+主语+谓语)!

5. Alice stood up and ran across the field after the rabbit.
爱丽丝站起来横穿田野追赶那只兔子。

get away 逃脱

7. Down, down, down. 掉啊,掉啊,掉啊。
这里的down是指fall down,连用了三个down是强调 爱丽丝落进洞里的时间很长,同时也说明洞很深。
8. Alice fell for a long time, and then she hit the ground.
爱丽丝向下掉了很长时间,然后才落地。
9. She found herself alone in a long, low hall.
她发现自己一个人在一个长而低的厅里。
(1) 句中的find oneself … 意思是“发觉自己(处于某种意外的状态)”。
e.g. He woke up and found himself in a hospital bed.
他醒来发现自己躺在医院的床上。
(2) 句中的alone意思是“独自的”,相当于on one's own、by oneself。
10. There were doors all around, but they were all locked.
周围都是门,但都是锁着的。
locked /lɒkt/ adj. 锁住的 →反义词:unlocked“未锁的”
拓展:(1) lock[动词](用锁)锁上;把……锁起来locked还可以是动词lock的过去式。
11. Alice saw a small key on a table, but it did not fit any of the doors.爱丽丝看见桌子上有一把小钥匙,但它不适合任何一扇门。
12. Then Alice noticed a small door and put the key into the lock.这时爱丽丝注意到一扇小门,就把钥匙插进锁里。

notice sb./sth. 注意到某人/某物

e.g. He was so busy that he didn’t notice me.
他太忙了,没有注意到我。

13. Alice tried to go through the door, but she was too big.
爱丽丝想通过那扇门,可是她个子太大了。
(1) try to do sth. 尽力做某事;设法做某事
e.g. We should try to save water.
我们应设法节约用水。
(2) 句中的through是介词,意思是“穿过,通过”,通常表示“从空间穿过”,而across表示“从表面穿过”。
e.g. walk through the forest 走过森林
run across the field 跑过田野
14. What happened next? 接下来发生了什么?
(1) “happen /ˈhæpən/ v. 发生,出现”,一般指偶然发生的事,主语常为事。
sth. happens+时间/地点状语 某时/某地发生某事
sth. happens to sb./sth. 某人/某物发生某事
e.g. A car accident happened to him yesterday.昨天他发生了车祸。
(2) “happen 碰巧”
sb happens to do sth. 某人恰巧做某事
It happens/happened that...恰巧……
e.g. I happened to meet my aunt in the street this morning.
今天早上我碰巧在街上遇见了我姑姑。
It happened that I saw him yesterday. 昨天我碰巧看见了他。
take place
不及物动词短语,不能用于被动语态,指根据安排或计划发生,含有事先预料或计划的意思
happen
不及物动词,不能用于被动语态,指具体客观事件的发生,有偶然性,未能预见
e.g. The birthday party will take place on Sunday.
生日聚会将于星期日举行。
The accident happened last night.
事故是昨天晚上发生的。
15. Alice ran after it. 爱丽丝追它(兔子)。
短语 run after 意思是“追逐,追赶”。
e.g. He ran after the boy. 他追赶那个男孩。
