One day, Gulliver was caught in a storm and his ship hit a rock , then damaged. He was washed to the beach.
When he woke up, he found himself in Lilliput and a lot of tiny people were around him.
The Emperor spoke in a low voice but I could hear all the words clearly. His Majesty and I often spoke to
each other but neither of us understood a single word. I tried words from many languages. No one could
understand me, not even the cleverest of the Emperor's followers.
After about two hours, the Emperor left. His wife, children and their servants went also. There were strong
guards around me. This was to stop the crowd of people from hurting me.
An officer told the guards to hold six men who made me angry. These men were given to me and I had to
choose their punishment. I put five of them in my pocket. Then I pretended(假装) to eat the sixth man.
The poor man screamed terribly. The guards were worried when they saw my knife in my hand. I only cut
the rope round his hands. Then I put him on his feet and let him go. I lifted the other five men out of my pocket
and put them gently on the ground too.
The people and the soldiers were very pleased with my great kindness. They told the Emperor about it
immediately. Emperor ordered his men to make a bed for me and they had to join six hundred of their little beds
together to make one bed for me.
At the same time, the Emperor asked all his advisers for their advice on how to deal with me. They were very
worried. If they set me free, I might be dangerous. I was eating so much food that soon all the people would be
hungry. The farmers could not grow enough food to feed all of us.
The wise men thought that they should kill me. But they would not be able to bury(埋葬) me.My dead body
would smell. This might cause much illness all over the country.

OpenAI has once again shocked the world with its latest creation Sora. The AI tool can produce videos up to
one minute long. Just give it some text instructions, like “a Chinese New Year celebration” and you'll get a video
that matches the description.
Many commentaries(评论文章 )on Sora express the worry that the tool will put many filmmakers out of
business. Similar worries have been voiced since the AI chatbot ChatGPT appeared. Text-to-image programmes
like Dall-E and Midjourney have made headlines as well for the same reasons. Many are afraid that industries
such as programming, translation, teaching and design will all disappear. It seems we can turn to AI for just about
anything we want to know or do.
Does that mean we no longer need to roll up our sleeves and gain knowledge and skills ourselves? Well, the
short answer is "No". Even in the age of AI,knowledge is still power. In fact, the rise of AI may only require you
to use your brain more. AI is knowledgeable, but for now at least, it needs instructions. In other words, you must
communicate with it. Let's say you want advice on how to get a better return on your savings. If you don't know
anything about finances(财务 )(if you don't even know what a “return” is), you'll have trouble asking the right
questions.
You also need to exercise your imagination -more actively. Take the Chinese New Year celebration video in
Paragraph 1 for example. You can't depend on Sora for everything. You need to be clear about your expectations
and use your language skills to describe them in as much detail as possible. Where is the celebration taking place?
What performances are going on? What are the performers wearing? You may also need to be a bit professional.
For example, "Throw in a close-up(特写镜头)of a dragon dancer, eyes locked on the ‘Pearl’,"
And keep in mind that AI can make mistakes. After an AI tool gives you an answer, you need to judge
whether all the information is correct and up to date. To do this, you need at least some basic knowledge about the
subjects involved(涉及).
If you think the development of AI has given you the right to be lazy, it's time to stop daydreaming. Double
down on your studies so that you'll be better equipped to work alongside AI.
( )33. Why do Al tools cause people's worry according to the passage?
A. Because AI tools might make serious mistakes.
B. Because AI tools can do anything you want to do.
C. Because AI tools can only produce short videos.
D. Because AI tools may make people lose jobs.
( )34. Which of the following statements is true?
A. You don't have to do anything when you use AI tools.
B. You may have difficulty answering Sora's questions.
C. You need to give more details to make Sora work better.
D. You need special knowledge to communicate with AI tools.
( )35. What is the structure of this passage?(①-Paragraph 1,②-Paragraph 2,...)
( )36. What does the writer mainly want to tell us in the passage?
A. AI tools really make our life more comfortable.
B. Knowledge remains important in the age of AI.
C. AI tools will take the place of humans in future.
D. With the AI tools, you can make wonderful nice videos.
