During the 2025 Spring Festival movie season, something amazing happened. Ne Zha 2 was very popular in Chinese cinemas. It was even better than famous films like YOLO and The Wandering Earth 2.
The success of the film changed how cinemas worked in the whole country. To meet the big need, theaters had 1,000-seat screening halls for the first time. Some theaters had nearly 100 shows every day. Tickets sold out quickly both on the Internet and at ticket offices. At the same time, related things for sale made people want to buy a lot. Things with characters like Shen Gongbao and Shi Ji Niangniang were sold out. Limited-edition blind boxes were gone in a few hours. Crowd funding for collectible figures got ten times more money than expected. This showed the film is very popular.
Based on Chinese mythology, Ne Zha 2 tells old stories in a new way. Magical places, legendary weapons, and famous characters like Ao Bing are in the story. It makes young people like it a lot. The main idea of the film—fighting against fate—makes teenagers who have pressure from school, family or society feel good. As one college student said after seeing the film, “It’s not only about gods and demons. It’s about how we should fight for our future.”
The film also looks at new relationships between characters. Ne Zha and Ao Bing were enemies before, but now they have competition and friendship. Visually, Ne Zha 2 makes a new standard for Chinese animation (动画). It has more than 1,900 carefully-made special effect shots. Scenes like the flaming lotus flower fighting with water dragons make people surprised. It shows that Chinese animation can be as good as global big companies like Disney or Studio Ghibli.
Ne Zha 2 bridges ancient culture and modern creativity. By mixing cultural pride with advanced technology, it inspires a new generation to value tradition while embracing innovation. The rebellious spirit of Ne Zha—a little devil challenging old rules—not only entertains but encourages young people to think critically and pursue their dreams.
26. How did theaters adapt to the high demand for Ne Zha 2?
A. By reducing ticket prices. B. By limiting online ticket sales.
C. By closing smaller cinemas. D. By building 1,000-seat halls and increasing daily shows.
27. What does the success of Ne Zha 2 show about Chinese animation?
A. It is still far behind global companies like Disney.
B. It can compete with global animation standards.
C. It is only popular in China.
D. It focuses only on traditional stories without innovation.
28. What can we infer (推断) from the fourth paragraph about the special effects in Ne Zha 2?
A. They were simple and unimpressive.
B. They were copied from Disney films.
C. They were not important to the film’s success.
D. They set a new standard for Chinese animation with over 1,900 carefully-made shots.
29. What is the main theme of Ne Zha 2 that resonates (共鸣) with teenagers?
A. The importance of following rules.
B. The idea of “fighting against fate”.
C. The value of friendship over competition.
D. The need to avoid pressure from school and family.
30. What is the best title for the passage?
A. Fighting Against Fate B. A New Standard for Chinese Animation
C. A Little Devil Challenging Old Rules D. Ne Zha 2: A Great Success

When he was only 17, Liang got the highest score in his town’s college entrance exam. Then he was able to go to Zhejiang University to study electronic information engineering. During his time at university, he became very interested in financial markets. He started to learn about machine learning for trading. This early interest helped him a lot for his future success.
In 2015, Liang and his friends started Huanfang Quantitative. This company used artificial intelligence to make smart investment choices. Self-driving cars do not have people telling them what to do. They move themselves about safely by doing three things right: learning about the environment, deciding what to do next, and taking action.
First, the car needs to know what is around it. It uses many different sensors (传感器) to do this. These sensors, such as cameras and radar, are like the car’s “eyes”. (A) They allow the car to “see” things such as people and traffic lights. The sensors also help the car know where and how fast it is going.
Besides knowing what is close by a self-driving car makes plans ahead to avoid traffic accidents. This is where “vehicle to everything” (V2X) comes in. This technology connects a self-driving car with people and things. It also allows the car to go online. All these things help the car “talk” with the outside world and get the latest road information.
After receiving the information, the car needs to “read” it and decide what to do. So it combines the information from all sensors, just like putting together the pieces of a puzzle. This process is called multi-sensor fusion (多传感器融合). (B) Machine learning plays an important role here because it helps the car recognize people and objects. Then, the car can decide when to stop, go, or turn.
Finally, to carry out decisions, the car uses drive-by-wire technology (线控技术). It allows the car to give “orders” to its wheels, brakes (刹车) and engine in the form of electronic signals (电子信号). This makes different parts of the car respond quickly. The car also uses less oil this way, which is good for the environment.
49. What does (A) “They” refer to(指的是) in Paragraph 2?
______________________________________________________________________________________________
50 What does V2X technology do?
______________________________________________________________________________________________
51. Translate the underlined sentence (B) into Chinese.
______________________________________________________________________________________________
52. 根据短文内容填空。(每空限1个单词)
The self-driving car uses many different ________ to know what is around it. It can make plans ahead to ________ traffic accidents. It uses V2X to get the latest road ________. Then it uses multi-sensor fusion to decide when to stop, go, or turn. To carry out these ________, the car uses drive-by-wire technology to give “orders” to its wheels, brakes and engine in the ________of electronic signals. Then without people’s order, it moves itself about ________ by learning about the environment, deciding what to do next, and taking action.

Dear Editor,
I’m glad to be invited to share my opinions on Artificial Intelligence in the “Teenagers Say” column. With the development of science and technology, Artificial Intelligence is getting more and more popular in our daily life. On the one hand, AI can be used to do dangerous, boring and tiring work so that we will live a better and happier life. On the other hand, with AI being widely used, a large number of workers are losing their jobs. What’s more, some people depend on AI so much that they lose their ability to think creatively and independently.
In my opinion, AI will never completely take the place of human beings so there is no need to worry about it too much. It is a tool that we invented and we are surely able to make it under control. The key is to make the best use of AI to make our life more convenient and more colorful.
Yours,
Li Hua
