(2025·广东汕尾·三模)The “20-minute park effect” is a hot topic that has been widely discussed in recent years. It suggests that spending just 20 minutes in a park can make a positive difference to our health.
Studies have shown that when we stay in a park for about 20 minutes, our stress levels can be hugely reduced. This is because a natural environment helps to lower the level of the stress hormone (荷尔蒙) in our bodies. For example, a study from International Journal of Environmental Health Research found that people who spent 20 minutes in a park felt more relaxed and happier after the park visit.
The park effect is not only about reducing stress. It also has a positive influence on our mood. When we are surrounded by nature, we can get more positive feelings. The fresh air, the green trees, and the sounds of birds can make us feel relaxed. It’s like a natural therapy that can improve our mind. Experts also support this idea. (2025·广东江门·二模)Plants are nature’s amazing food makers. Unlike animals, plants cannot move around to find food. Instead, they have developed special ways to get “food” from things around them. One of the main ways is through photosynthesis (光合作用)。
For photosynthesis to happen, plants need three important things—sunlight, water and CO2. They get water through their roots and take in CO2 through stomata (孔)。Chlorophyll (叶绿素) is responsible for catching sunlight. When these three things come together, something wonderful happens. ▲ First they make glucose (葡萄糖) which is the plant’s food. Second, they produce O2 for animals and humans to breathe. This is why plants are so important——they clean the air by taking in CO2 from the air and giving off O2.
Different plants have adapted to the environment in their special ways to survive. Desert plants usually have thick bodies to store water. They keep their stomata closed during the hot day and only open them at night to do photosynthesis. This helps them survive in dry conditions. Another example is water lilies (水百合). These plants grow in fakes. Their leaves spread across the water to collect sunlight. They have stomata only on the top side of their leaves to take’ in air. This special design helps them live well in water.
Thanks to photosynthesis, plants not only feed themselves but also support life on Earth!

(2025·广东汕头·模拟预测)These days, drones (无人机), also called UAVs, aren’t just cool high-tech tools for taking pictures. In the countryside, they’re becoming more and more important. They’re bringing new ways to get work done and making big changes in farming and other country jobs.
One big use of them is in farming. Farmers can use drones to look over their fields. These drones have special cameras. They can fly up high and take pictures of the crops. Then, by looking at these pictures, farmers can tell if their crops have enough water, sunlight, or food. Instead of walking around the whole big field to check, they can use a drone to look at everything fast. Zigui is a county in Yichang City, Hubei Province. Older farmers there used to carry oranges on their back. It was hard work. Few young people are willing to do it. But now a farmer can use a drone to carry 50 kilograms per trip. It crosses 200 meters in just one minute, while a person would take 30 minutes.
________ They can watch how the animals move and if they’re healthy. In big pastures, it’s really hard for farmers to watch all the animals all the time. Drones can easily get to far-away and hard-to-reach places. This helps keep everything in the countryside working well, so people’s lives and work can go on smoothly.
However, using drones in the countryside isn’t always easy. For example, there are strict regulations on drone flights in many places. Farmers have to make sure they fly their drones the right way. Also, buying a good drone and all the things that go with it can be expensive for some farmers. But as technology gets better and the market gets more grown-up, these problems will probably get solved little by little.
1.How can farmers tell if their crops have problems according to the passage?

A.By walking around the field to check.
B.By listening to the sound of the crops.
C.By looking at the pictures taken by drones.
D.By asking experts for advice.
2.Which of the following may best show the flying ability of drones?
A.B.C. D.
3.Which of the following can be put in “________”?
A.Drones fly faster than farm animals.
B.Drones also help take care of farm animals.
C.Drones are perfect for farming.
D.Drones will be used in more fields.
4.What does the underlined word “regulations” probably mean?
A.Problems. B.Ways. C.Advantages. D.Rules.
